Vinegar Plus Baking Soda Volcano Eruption in a Vacuum Chamber

- In this video I perform the age old science experiment of putting vinegar and baking soda in a clay volcano and watching it erupt, but I do it in a vacuum chamber! This is a really neat experiment to do in a vacuum because the reaction is much more violent due to the CO2 expanding rapidly in the vacuum chamber after it is formed. Watch the volcano go Mt. St. Helens on us in a vacuum chamber!

My science kid wants to know, what causes the vinegar to boil? And also, if the vinegar evaporates, will it change at all once it's recondensed?
Bri P low pressure causes liquids to boil at lower temperatures (that's why at higher elevations you have to cook things longer because the temperature is lower) also if you boil it and then take the condensate it will be more water rich than the initial vinegar because water boils at a slightly lower temperature than pure acetic acid (vinegar)

I have an idea for giving the baking soda and vinegar volcano experiment a little more kick. Try a drain cleaner and nitric acid volcano, although you'll get more of a pyroclastic flow.
You must be the go-to person in your neighborhood for the children to do their science projects.

I heard that apple cider viniger is not very acidic. I was expecting more of a reaction when you did it under normal presure. Maybe you should test the diference with regular viniger.
