The Orville is a breath of fresh air in the sci-fi genre, effortlessly blending humor, heart, and high-stakes space exploration. Seth MacFarlane's brainchild strikes the perfect balance between homage to classic space operas and a witty, contemporary narrative.
The show's strength lies in its characters, each one a unique and lovable addition to the diverse crew. The chemistry among the cast is palpable, making every moment, whether comedic or dramatic, resonate with authenticity. MacFarlane's Captain Ed Mercer leads with a perfect mix of charisma and vulnerability, creating a protagonist you can't help but root for.
The Orville's writing is a standout feature, weaving intricate plots with social commentary and clever humor. It fearlessly tackles relevant issues while maintaining a sense of optimism and hope, mirroring the best traditions of the sci-fi genre. The special effects are top-notch, creating visually stunning scenes that rival big-budget productions.
What sets The Orville apart is its ability to surprise and delight. It's not afraid to take risks, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats while delivering moments of genuine emotion. Whether you're a hardcore sci-fi fan or just looking for a captivating and entertaining series, The Orville is a journey worth taking. In a universe filled with options, The Orville stands out as a shining star in the vast expanse of television. Welcome to Talking The Orville! Where a fan can be a fan... ENJOY WHAT YOU LIKE.

This is my favorite episode of The Orville! It's so heartwarming yet so tragic and the perfect type of story to tell through sci-fi

Love these breakdowns. This was a favorite episode of mine, as was its follow up, which broke my heart.
Gordon's attitude after being saved, this time shortly after arriving, was one I am still struggling with. I go back and forth in my understanding Gordon's feelings. 😏

Episode made me tear right up, especially the duet at the end. WOW what incredible storytelling. Yeah I know that her cell phone's flash memory wouldn't hold for THAT long, but still. Great episode.

This is still arguably my favorite episode -- It's a very sweet and somewhat tragic love story, up there with 'The Girl in the Fireplace' from Season 2 of Doctor Who

I loved their use of Leighton Meester. She always could sing, is a good actress, and she got to do both on this one episode. She has been criminally underused in roles like this as many leveraged her acting ability, but not much her singing.

It's straight up my favorite version of that song. My respect to Bridges and Garfunkel, but the duet blew it outta the water! I ripped the audio so I can listen to it whenever

That's a lot of Greg hate. Remember we're mostly hearing about Greg from Laura's perspective. Greg encouraged Laura to fulfill her dream of singing, and is cordial when he meets our man Gordon.
