Thanks so much it helped a lot. The mistake I did was to start lacing from other side and the way you showed how to start lacing and make both ends equal. In the end both ends comes up equal as well
It depends on how you lace your skates. If you lace it from the inside out, it pulls the tongue before it pulls the boot, therefore, causing lace bite. It you lace it from the outside in, then it pulls the boot instead of pulling the tongue, avoiding lace bite.
@@cornchipz3433 While you're right about lace bite, that's not the bite he's talking about. He's talking about the locking properties of waxed laces. Which is the reason for wax. The water resistance is the added bonus.
I just bought me new skates and they forgot to take off the tags and let us go even after the detector beeped because they said it was "The skate's material". I had to cut my laces and get new ones and you were a big help
Nice demonstration but that was extremely slow. Pair the tips and pull through. They are matched. As for putting them in the eyelets, use two hands. Like I said, it was a good demo vid but it was painful.
yes i prefer the alternative lace because for me this is the better mean because the lace move less than your solution . After i ask me of we can combine the 2 mean :S
i make hockey and i ask me if the combination of the 2 mean be better :S because i make a hard tie with my ice skate . So all this to say your tutorial is good ;) go away (it(s with your tutorial i can make the hockey stop thx a lot ;) )
Matthew Winner Yeah, it's not that bad provided you have warm socks and extra gloves under hockey mitts. I always play with my hoodie on no matter how cold but I put extra shirt under it it's freezing. The worst part is that the face gets easily frostbitten in those kind of temperatures.
You're kidding right? Have you played a game of pond hockey with non-waxed laces in freezing weather? Let me tell you, a stiff lace is a hell of a lot easier to deal with than wet laces that are frozen solid.
You should really lace from the outside and in. Your laces put too much pressure on the tongue and your foot, and the boot cannot be tightened down on the tongue.
+DataWaveTaGo Thanks to airhead Republicans, we don't have to rely on science any more either, particularly the science that gave us indoor ice rinks :)
@@beezer5623 HI Beezer, I can't find it. But I remember and used it. Lace skates over and under the eyes with the last eye ending under. Andy's reasoning was it was easier to lace the skates tight by tugging on every other over eye and it was easier for the medical to cut off the skate in case of injury. Remember Dale Rolfe's injury if you are old enough.
Finally someone putting out good info. All the howles hockey videos are wrong
lol i was trying to put my new laces in for like 20min and then i found this video. THANKYOU!

thank you for the vid, I forgot how to start,,, its been awhile :)
im watching this in april 2022 lol and i still found this helpful!
At 3:34 we're finally up to eyelet number 2 on the skate. Concise eh?
The wax is to prevent water fron melted ice getting into the laces and weakening the fabric. The bite you get when tieing them is just an added bonus.

Thanks Really Helped
best lace video out there
helpful hint--- if you use waxed laces, microwave your laces for about 10 seconds just before lacing to melt the wax to make it easier to lace.
I thought it was 30 seconds
I find this also ruins the grip
Why would you melt the wax though?? Is it really too tough for you to lace 😂
Why to buy waxed lace if we have to melt it
Thanks. You were a great help
Thanks man. Great vid

Thanks! Grew out of my old jet speeds and I got new ones.
Nice vid
Thanks
Great vid man, you'd be surprised how many hockey players don't know how to lace their own skates.. xD
Yup. Apparently the guy in this video is one of them...
Thanks for the help
thank you
thank you dude so much, this was a big help,
i bought a reebok lace for my bauer skates but it feels too short i cant get it to second top eyelet
they're the wrong size idiot
You should never put Reebok laces in Bauer skates. Also, you really need to purchase the correct length of lace...
Thx
I forgot my usual pattern thanks so much

Thanks top vid
worked out great. now if I can get my son to tie his own skates lol

No problem.
Thank you!
Ey ey ey eye outlet xD best part thanks for the video it help a lot x3
I would not recommend waxed laces for outdoor skating in really cold weather. Just personl experience, laces become very stiff.
Thank you for that
+Vladimir L I was just playing in -22 C/-7 F for 2 hours and I can confirm that.
Pece17 holy fuck dude

i lace my ice skate in making the laces by other solution so tou pass your lace by the up and not by the down (exuse me but i am french :p )
I actually watched this video while lacing reebok skates!
like ❤️😍thank you
Wrong, you lace all outside in this way laces cam against each other allowing lace to stay tight
EXTREME SKATE LACING
Yup. Extremely incorrect skate lacing...
Il finally wil have some nice tight skates!! now i can skate faster :D
2021? Anyone??
thanks heaps :)
non waxed laces are better
Bruh
Thanks to Global Warming we won't have to deal with skates anymore! ;)

WRONG. ANDY BATHGATE TAUGHT US HOW TO LACE SKATES FORTY YEARS AGO. LOOK IT UP.
Hey Bro, I been trying to find this, do you know a link for this?
