- Bad Luck 13 Riot Extravaganza - Hellfest 2004. It starts out slow, but gets really good!!
- Update 2022
Alot of people put in the comments "High School Gym". it was not. It was at the former "RexPlex" in Elizabeth NJ.
Here are some details:

i was 14 when i was here and it was my first hadrcore / metal show ever. been hooked ever since.
My favorite move here is the trash can pump fake to backwards cannon at 3:02
That shit made me laugh so hard 😂
OUR PARENTS AREN'T HERE LET'S MAKE THE MOST OF IT
😂
Yeah. Now we're the parents haha. Occasionally we like to hit the comments on modern HC videos and tell the nextgen their a bunch of pussies.
We probably fucked up the whole world haha.
This show was so fun. I remember packing me and 5 of my boys in my old 71 mustang, drove hour and half from Philly to Elizabeth, nj almost breaking down. Gnarliest part was when someone threw a fire extinguisher like 20 feet in air hitting a big dude right in head getting knocked out. Last act so many people were waiting for fear factory was canceled lol. Converge was my second highlight there so sick
Damn I hope that guy was alright
I thought Fear Factory did still play on a different stage
remember when they cancelled the year after and no one got refunds... now thats what I call BAD LUCK
Charlie Woo Hellfest 2005 lmao
Lmao yea too many death threats fuck hellfest
im surprised this is hardcore still runs. Idiots with beef always want to ruin it for someone else
The lead singer is now playing in a Paul Anka cover band. They're touring with Hall and Oats.
Oh man I remember this, I was 16 or 17 and in the back of the crowd and I was scared. When people started getting beaten with fluorescent light tubes I got out of there so quickly. I remember my mom picked me up in the parking lot full of cop cars, it was nuts.
Those medics probably had one hell of a story to tell their families
MOST INFAMOUS MOMENT IN NJ HARDCORE HISTORY
I don't even know what I'm seeing here. wtf is this, it doesn't look so crazy. Mostly a mess and people crowdkilling?
@@jacobrivas4748 definitely one of the "had to be there" moments
This is nuts. I’ve been looking for footage of this for the better part of 10 years ! I was at this show with my brother. We had seen Bad Luck 13 maybe 2-3 times before this. Before the show rumors had spread that this was going to be the bands last show .. and the rumors that followed of what they were to do were WILD. The band had brought light tubes , chairs , all kinds of wrestling related hardcore shit. I saw a kid take a light tube to the face from across the gym out of nowhere. And of course the pig head .. man great times. Also been tatted by Jason a couple times
you couldn’t have looked very hard it’s been on youtube for 13 years lol
Your absolutely right. i remember hearing it was their last show. This was the 2nd to last band of Hellfest, Fear Factory was last. After this happened, maybe half of the place emptied out once the police came. There was blood all over the basketball court and hallway leading out the doors.
@@C2theG I was there too!
Fkn WILD lol I was getting chased by those killer bleachers and lost my shirt somewhere in there :/
@@altPastaTitsI found your shirt
The set that killed Hellfest.
I love when they flipped over the bleacher and they're putting it back to upright position and that idiot ran under it trying to help and almost got squished xD
I was at this show, and almost shit my pants when they turned the bleachers over. Nuts.
Ah the memories. 3 days of no sleep in a hotel room with like 10 people leading up to this and then driving 5 hours home. Good times.
3:33 skating right into the crowd haha
sponsored by hot topic
+Conor McCoy Best musical trolling in ages, these guys are one of the best offensive bands. Blame the crowd for fucking up the venue
+Mike Skelly sure, ok Mike
bad luck 13 wasnt about how good they were. it was about the reaction of the crowd and the antics of the band themselves.
I got hit with that rotten head in the arm, shit was the worst smelling thing I've ever had the misfortune to be around. It left green, white and black goo on my arm. After looking at it on the ground I still don't know if it was a pig or goat. Aside from that being in the riot was the most intense shit ever. That show was fucking amazing and I can't wait to see them again now that they're back together.
Had to look this up again. Most chaotic thing I’ve seen live
they never released the dvd, it would've been used as evidence to convict bl13 most likely.
Holy shit! I was there but I missed this particular show. 😮
Available for weddings
this video kind of make it looks tame, i was there....and it was alot crazier.
So much for respecting the venue :(
Hell fest was in a jr high school gym?
Sucks that missed this ! But reminds me of how all the shows I booked used to look it haha
there was a period from the late 80s to the early 2000s where rock music and all it's hardest subgenres were the domain of insane, aggressive live shows that always seemed to involve destruction. I worked for a couple of bars and venues that hosted acts big and small, typically in the punk, hardcore, and metal scenes, and let me tell you, the 90s scene was insane. Destroying venues became a part of the act for so many bands, mosh pits were violent as fuck - there was always news of a new venue being destroyed by fans that got too hyped up, some even burnt to the ground - most memorable was Marilyn Manson in Syracuse, NY in 96, which i witnessed - smashed all their instruments up and then told everyone to "tear this motherfucker apart" - and boy did we. Pulled the drop ceiling down, smashed walls and windows, ripped the lighting out, it was just a shower of glass and metal hardware flying everywhere as they blasted "irresponsible hate anthem". Then they ran outta there and everyone stayed around just smashing the venue up. Even Limp Bizkit were causing chaos, saw them in Kansas City in 97, you could feel the energy getting evil as they built to the end of their set, then everyone just exploded, the band absolutely destroyed their instruments, crowd started brawling, knocking down speakers, stomping car windshields in the parking lot, and smashing holes through the wooden stage - I have a lot more experiences like this, it was just a standard thing in the heavy scene then. The music was so kickass and aggressive at the time, so it made sense to just fuck shit up, and I went to tons of hardcore shows that resulted in blood and bruises from endless fights in the pit, and 1,000s of dollars in damage to venues. Then Woodstock 99 happened and that was the perfect representation of all the chaos and destruction that was occurring in the metal and punk scene at the time. It was the best era for chaotic debauchery, no one gave any fucks.
@@decrox13 so true bud. I grew up in 90's was huge in hardcore but also a ridiculous big fan of marilyn manson. Seen him atleast 7 different times in philly and New Jersey. I miss going to shows back then. Your comment made me remember those times thanks!!!
@@TimboStang71 Yeah, 90s hardcore was great, as I said, people gave less fucks back then. I remember hearing about this BL13 show when it happened haha: ruclips.net/video/KV5H7LbVrnc/видео.html. You can see them smash all the windows out of the venue at the end with pieces broken furniture. Goes fucking hard.
@@decrox13 oh yes, I was at that show in late 90's when they were the best. Was behind my high school at a polish club. Yea the 90's were great
@decrox13 - Reminds me of all the times I went to Harpo's in Detroit for Death Metal shows. You walked in, tore your own ticket, left the stub on a ledge and that was in. No pat down. No nothing.
this looks ridiculously fun hahaha i need to see bl13
Oh wow. I remember all the crazy rumors of this show back when it happened. But there was never video of it at the time and I totally forgot about it. I want to see the whole thing to compare the rumors to reality.
This is the whole thing. One of the longest sets they ever played up until this point.
Funny, I too remember many rumors on myspace, such as people swinging swords and machetes, a live pipe bomb, someone in the band trying to kill themselves, lots of blood, fire, etc, now I see in the video it's basically just a bunch of teenagers dancing and throwing garbage around, lol.
@@km77777-w multiple people were alleged to have died by being crushed inside the bleachers collapsing or being pushed in. I remember having tickets for the next year and it getting canceled supposedly over all the controversy.
@@the_real_tay_loud2072nobody died
@cactuspixel - The bomb and other stuff was from the show that ended up on the news.
This is the greatest thing I have ever seen
Best weekend of my life
I got hit with a baseball bat at the one. gave me a bone bruise on my wrist for like 2 months. When the fire extinguisher went off I ran outside with the guitar player of pig destroyer. we were laughing our asses off
Oh, you met Scott Hull? That's awesome!
there is nothing like the chaos that ensues at a bad luck 13 show regardless of the venue it will be destroyed and every man woman child there will feel the fury of destruction and hate
MY FAVORITE SET EVER!
Hard to believe it’s been almost 18 years since this happened. I miss the mid-00s.
I was just getting kind sad thinking like “oh no I’m fuckin old 🥺”. Seeing that hot topic logo and the Pepsi logo just knowing what it was like being in middle school/highschool back then.
lol What school would let them have that venue? lol great
This is so sick. I wish I could see somethin like this
I honestly think we should have a 12-year reunion haha. This was terrifying but fun.
yeah hopefully people will bring guns next time.
i got cracked in the face with that rotten head and had to go to the ER. i still have the scars above my right eyebrow and i was absolutely covered in my own blood afterwards. i was in the medic area of the venue when the riot happened, it was definitely a ridic experience. my friends will still go to their shows but i politely opt out at this point. i'm all for good hxc shows, but this was not my fave experience.
Yoo you must be the same one everyone claims to have died afterwards
this looks fun asf
insane is an understatement
yo thats sick as hell
I'm pretty sure I left before this. But as far as I'm concerned, Hellfest ended in 2003.
I agree completely
Not trying to start an argument but in my opinion 2004 was the best Hellfest lineup.
04 was it. The only bands missing were AN and B4B.
Pennwisedom you would know if you were there for this. 🤦🏻♂️
im gonna try to make the trip from sweden to experience this chaos in philly this year. gonna cost me a fortune and I'm probably gonna end up getting my wig split but hey you only live once right
are you still alive, bro?
Bro?
Dude?
Bro?
Guess who will never host a hardcore show again? ….good job
Hellfest 2004 rexplex Elizabeth nj best show of my life
I love the look of fear on the faces of all the chads that thought they knew what a wild and crazy show was because they saw papa roach and slipknot live.
The soundtrack to the end of the world. Awesome set
Complete CHAOS
In fairness they seem like a friendly crowd
Hatebreed and E Towen Concreste, play in PA in a pool hall the size of the stage area here.
Ah, good times, good times
6:34 nerd in white shirt almost gets crushed
I was here and this was the best fucking hell fest ever
You do what you like if this is what you enjoy. But this is why these dudes are never allowed to play anywhere they already have played.
I wish I could have seen this killer set
Flying bins are soooo brutal, haha.
nothing can stop them
Me and the school than we finish our last years
this show looks fucking awesome
i love that hot topic is a fan of BL13 lawlzzz
i was here...but really though this video doesnt describe half of the other shit that was really happening haha
exactly!
This still does not top the fury of the converge riot at Gainesville fest in Florida.
the mentors of hardcore no doubt…
Rip rexplex thanks for letting 50 people ride BMX for free every wed night
I remember this i was so scared I would have ran toward it now
BATS ARE ON THE DANCE FLOOR.
Yea, it was fucken great! This is actually video 1 of 3 that i took. I got the whole show, which was only 15-20mins. I cant find the other videos, but if i do, ill post them ASAP! Video 3 was the best. Thats when they shoot off the fire extinguishes! IT WAS SICK DUDE!
It's just terrible toughguy hardcore with a destructive gimmick. For fans of: UFC, Tapout, and beating up that kid for looking at you funny.
ooooooo you gottem!
The is why you ask for deposits when you put on events like this.
whens the varsity game start?
@C2theG Damn... I heard about those old Hellfest shows in NJ. I was gonna go to Hellfest 2005, but it got cancelled at the last minute.
i made a comment hating on these guys awhile back but i was a kid and thought differently now im older im still not of a fan of these guys or hardcore in general but rock metal and hardcore is suppose to be dangerous and unpredictable we need more of this because honestly the rock scene in a whole is tame i love the chaos
I can respect that
cool idc what you think either
Drew Keller you were right the first time. These fat tough guy wiggers are soft as babyshit once they hit the Penitentiary
YO YO YO YO YO
Krank😂
What’s with the lights being on?
Hardest of the Hardcore, bats on the dance floor! Who needs friends when you've got enemies!
BLEACHERS! GET THE BLEACHERS!
Heard about this from the Podioslave Podcast
Well the guys that put it on went bankrupt after the 2005 show got canceled b/c of there insurance got pulled, last minute. And no one got there money back. That was the best concert I've ever been to. 3 Days, 150 Bands. All metal/hardcore. It was great ;(
Funny thing is the way Bad luck got on is because one of the promotors is a degenerate gambler and Jason Goldberg bet him and if he lost they had to let bad luck on.
The poor garbage cans. This the type of thing no one would believe if it wasn’t recorded.
Anger management classes at its best!
Shouts out for our tight bros at Hot Topic!
BAAD LUCK 13!!!!!!!!!!
my older brothers' band is opening for them
r.i.p hellfest and rexplex
This actually footage of a JV basketball tournament gone awry.
This was tame for a Bad Luck show.
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS I HAVE EVER TAKEN PART OF.

Hellfest was actually an amazing festival.
@MrMurderjunkie According to Wikipedia, Slipknot started in 95 and this band formed in 97. Not that I'm sticking up for Slipknot (hell no)...point is, bands that wear masks are almost always gimmicky and gay. (though Slipknot are far gayer than BL13, since they actually take themselves seriously)
@clemouch182 There was two different Hellfest.
What did that dude at the beginning do to get his ass whooped like that?
Gap Khakis must have been on sale that year.
These guys will literally murder everyone at This is Hardcore fest this year
Literally murder? Literally. Like literally totally freak me oh like literally right on! They are literally my favorite literally band. Except they are not. And they never murdered anyone because they suck.
Was actually the tamest set because their music is awful
I HAD A FUCKING BLAST
