great reveiw, a combo meter with data saving, priced better than most ph/ec combo meters, bluelab combo meter being US$280.00 vs apera at US $184.
would love REAL data logging capabilities with a wifi data logger much like the Bluelab Guardian Monitor Connect, with a wifi data logger and a bit of beta testing i'm sure apera could increase their customer base of the home grower or commercial horticultural market as they are a very handy tool

Hey Dan thanks for leaving a comment man. But yeah comparing to other combos they are not right on par or a bit cheaper. I believe the guardian is non mobile though right? That would be cool to see something like that in the future with Apera. Live monitoring of your grow especially in hydroponics would be very useful. Anyways thanks for leaving a comment Dan it's really appreciated man

Oh nice yeah I use mine in my nature aquariums and in the field as well. Its a great tool to carry around if you are grabbing plants from ponds or lakes so you can really get a good understanding of the environmental conditions they are thriving in. Thanks for leaving a comment Chris.

    Nice review! Thanks!
Can you please tell me how to "calibrate" the TDS correctly? Or at least figure out why is it so different from my other TDS testers... I've noticed there is a "TDS Factor" that can be configured from 0.4 to 1.0. That would give for my water values ranging from 175ppm to 435ppm. Which is crazy! Me changing that value makes the water from OK to UNUSABLE. And I couldn't find any way to check which should be the correct value. How did you set yours?

Hi How well does it stay callibrated and whats your thoughts after a year

    • @downwithprohibition7364

I calibrate it every month or so and its never off by much, as long as you use it frequently. When I took a few month break between my grows, I had to use the soaking solution and recalibrate it. I have used many sensors like this and its really hard to beat. I figured I would need a replacement probe by now with as much as I use it but I think I may get another year.. Thats also another cool feature, you usually need to replace the whole unit where this one only need a replacement probe. I am very impressed with it.

They have others that are cheaper if you dont need all those tests and the bluetooth with data logging.. Most of us only need tds and ph to really get by..... They are not cheap but by far the best tester i have ever used. Its a lab grade tester, I still have not needed to change my probe after all this time and thats exceptional. I cant even tell yea how many testers i have been through over the years.

Yes, I just got one, thanks for the great intro to this model. I will tell you I had one of their lower end meters and it was ok. I purchased this one for the BT feature primarily. I own 4 others . 3- Hanna’s , 1 Milwaukee and a BL truncheon stick. I hope this makes the grade, but I will say the others perform excellently so this will have tough competition. Again thanks

Does it work on liquid food?

Although they do have specific testers designed for food this one is also able to be used for that purpose

Yes this is a premium brand for sure, saying that they do sell cheaper models for both ph or tds specific for much cheaper and you still get the same lab grade probes. For me I use this beyond just in my garden I have several fish tanks. liquid test kits are expensive, they expire and they are not that accurate. So for me it makes sense to have a quality meter.
