      @@etamommy When he gets hit with a dangerous punch that knocks him down, he can get back up and continue fighting instead of losing the fight or being outright knocked out. Deontay Wilder, who is known for destroying people with his punching power, has knocked down Tyson more than once, but Tyson does not stay down. He gets back up and continues fighting, even winning sometimes. Most fighters cannot do that.

      @@god-of-logic99 Is only partially true, but not at all relevant in this specific case: Usyk is more or less Fury's age, but unlike him, Usyk doesn't get "in shape" only during the training camps before the fights, Usyk is always in shape, and has never indulged in any kind of excesses (which Fury has done multiple times) in boxing, the physique is also fundamental... to be durable, you can't always go "100 miles an hour", if you know what I mean... and Fury won many of his fights thanks to talent, not his physical preparation; only that for the first time in his career, Fury knows that he is facing an opponent who is more technical than him, and who will surely run out of energy long after him

    Somewhere along the line, the boxing world forgot the conventional wisdom about fighting shorter guys with shorter arms. If you take the fight to the inside against a shorter and faster man, you're only hurting yourself. It's what Joshua did against Ruiz and is also what everybody seems to want Fury to do. The talk now is that Fury should use his jab and reach but also come forward more, throw more punches, and make it more physical? Some of those are mutually exclusive and won't work regardless.
    The more punches he throws, the more Fury will be open. In the middle rounds, Usyk tried to move out of range of Fury's attacks, but by the last third, he stood his ground and countered. The big shot in the 9th came off a two-punch combination from Fury, one of which landed, so it's not so simple as just throwing more punches.
    Also, Usyk is a fighter who actually understands grappling (he grappled a little as a child and is a close friend of Lomachenko who is an accomplished grappler). Fury can't simply bully him because Usyk gets every advantage in the clinch. He gets good head position, frames off Fury, gets on an angle, and finds an underhook. He is too slippery to consistently lean on, and when you try leaning on something slippery, it only makes you tired. Rewatch the 12th round and see Usyk easily throw Fury into the ropes when Fury tried to clinch. He was the guy with the greater physicality by the end, and I expect this fight to be much the same.
    My guess is that Fury starts this fight in much the same way and tires about halfway through.

    • @sventibaldo
      @sventibaldo Месяц назад +3

      You're right, but i think this is a bad strategy on Fury's part. He should have kept a lower weight, focusing on improving his stamina and win on points. This way i predict that he will still not be able to ko Usyk and he will end up losing all the later rounds.

    • @jmarsh5485
      @jmarsh5485 Месяц назад +2

      If I am right, Usyk has only got knocked down twice, in the amateurs. He can take a punch. Maybe because he concentrates so well, so he's always aware and braces well(?). Anyway, I see Usyk doing what he couldn't in rd9, and I'd say a KO/TKO will happen between rds 8-11. Second bet is a decision for Usyk, and its similar to you, because of Fury's weight, he categorically won't keep up with usyk, so I think he'll be a punchbag in last few rounds. Yet I can see him riding them because being heavier will help him soak up Usyk's shot

    Fury HAS to win - but nobody alive, or dead will be remotely surprised if Usyk wins again, he's my pick. I will be less surprised if it's a draw - do not be surprised if it's a draw - because 1 for 1 has less appeal for the box office - so boringly, for me Tyson will again be battered about the shop and yet win the split decision that went against him in the previous bout - to set up the inevitable bout 3, which Tyson Fury will lose. There are millions at stake. This is not boxing.

Usyk was the aggressor through most of the fight, threw more punches, landed more punches, landed more effective punches to the body and face. Many of Fury's punches were actually blocked in full or partially by Usyk.

      Scores should not be disclosed until the end,it is for the fighter and his corner to determine their status. There is a chance judges would be influenced by the others scoring if theory could see it rather than submit their own score. Judges can be scrutinised after the event,whereby nothing ever usually happens if it was dodgy.

      @henryb1555 he didn't adjust, other than complaining. Fury just started head hunting. Just like the Dubious body shot that he pretended was low too. It's his only weakness it seems. It's far harder to avoid body shots than those to the head, it just leaves yourself more exposed because you obviously have to lower your arm away from your head to throw the body shot.

    The biggest mistake that Fury made in the first match was that he failed to keep his focus throughout the fight and this "nonchalance" cost him in the end... I am convinced that it will not happen again in this second match, that is, that Fury is very took this second fight seriously and will not allow himself a moment of weakness during the fight... In the first fight, Usyk showed everything that Usyk is, which is incredible focus, preparation and patiently waiting for Fury's mistake, which eventually happened. .. This time i am convinced that Fury will not allow himself to do that and that on 21.12. Fury will come out of that fight as a winner... And that's what all fans want, i.e. a TRILOGY... 😎

    My guess (writing this only hours before the fight takes place) is that Fury will hope to replicate his second match with Deontay Wilder.
    Fury will go on the attack looking for the knock-out. He will chase Usyk around landing big shots.
    If I were Usyk - I'd be moving, and investing in the body and trying to survive until Fury tires-out and madly going for the knock-out also.
    Surely Usyk knows NOT to leave it in the judges hands this time, if he can help it.
    All the talk around a "trilogy" between these two Heavyweights would have me pretty worried if I was Usyk...

    As always, best boxing channel on RUclips... I agree the slight advantage is with Usyk. Hopefully Fury comes into the fight in good shape ready to rock, but Usyk looks like he's in the best shape of his life. Usyk was the constant aggressor, nothing Fury him with wobbled him like a DVD menu screen like Usyk did to Fury. Usyk won fair and square and should have gotten the TKO or unanimous decision.

  • @TechnoLawyer

    Regarding stamina, I mean, Fury is like the p4p stamina king. I don’t see how much he could improve his stamina given his size and weight. he’s never going to match up to Usyk there, but that’s because he’s lugging around 40+lbs more. Clear advantage to Usyk, but not actually one that’s Fury’s fault. Say what you want about Fury, but whatever he’s doing for conditioning training is clearly damn good.
    Imagine if Zhang had Fury’s gas tank. Yikes.

    Rummy, my man, I sincerely hope you read your comments because I would love your thoughts about this:
    In my opinion, Usyk has already done enough to put himself in the conversation to be in the all-time top 10 Heavyweights. Even the people who think he's not top 10 would probably agree that he's just outside it, in the top 15 maybe. Assuming Usyk wins the rematch, and further assuming that Usyk does not immediately retire, how many more fights would he have to win before people would start meaningfully comparing him to Ali? Is there currently enough talent at heavyweight for him to get that kind of resume?
    If he beats Fury twice, and then goes on to beat Parker, Kabayel, and Zhang (for example), is that enough? We are witnessing a third great era of heavyweight talent. If Usyk got a few more wins against quality competitors, could you see a place for him *above* Lewis, Holmes, Foreman, and Frazier? Above Holyfield and Tyson?
    Usyk, in my opinion, is not motivated to be the greatest of all time in the way Ali was. I don't think he feels the same drive to prove himself (and that's a more complicated issue that involves the civil rights movements at the time), and he also hasn't had the same caliber of slugfests taking a toll on him that he needed to persevere through. On the one hand, we would like to see that he has that heart to fight on (and maybe we'll get that in the rematch with Fury), but on the other hand he would need to find someone who is truly on his level, and that hasn't happened yet.
    (Lowkey I'm also asking for an updated all-time top 10 heavyweight ranking from you, love your channel, keep doing what you're doing.)

    • @RummysCorner

      Rating Usyk all-time at heavyweight is a tricky proposition, and notwithstanding the pending rematch, I imagine opinions will widely vary on him in the future.

      It's really not a bad point you're making, I myself am wondering where I'd place him in the all time heavy weight rankings.
      A big problem though is, everyone shits on the best of the heavyweight Era these days, Fury is washed, AJ was never that good, etc etc (not my opinion btw)
      You cannot be considered great when your opponents are constantly questioned in terms of skill.
      I personally would put him edging into the top 10, around 11 and 12ish, but I think things change if he wins the rematch.

    I'm still surprised that Fury was able to land so many uppercuts. The camera's perspective is obviously different, but those long punches look telegraphed from miles away--a far cry from the short, crisp uppercuts of vintage Mike Tyson, for ex.
    Maybe Usyk just figured that was the price he had to pay to get inside. For me that's a big key to the rematch: avoiding that punch.

    Three Judges all seated on one side of the Ring aren't going to deliver a score that accurately reflects the criteria for scoring when not all of them are going to see effective aggression, defence, Ring generalship, clean punches landed, in the same way, or as the same thing as each-other, Fury - Usyk 2 is going to have a trial AI Judge, how exactly that is going to be factored in we'll have to see...

  • @musictechcentral5484
    @musictechcentral5484 23 дня назад

    I think Fury found the key to beating Usyk in this fight but it was too late in the fight and he didn’t do enough of it. Usyk has a high guard and being a southpaw he proved vulnerable to right hands to the body. Fury landed some nice ones that seemed to bother Usyk. I think any future contender is going to have to invest downstairs heavily and early. Also Usyk seemed to do his best work when moving forward or when he had Fury trapped in a corner. I think fighters are gonna have to do a better job of maintaining center ring. Also, I hate to say it but I think anyone who wants to beat Usyk is gonna have to make things more physical and tie him up immediately when he gets close if only to frustrate him and make him exert energy. Of course the rematch has already happened so we’ll see what the future holds. Thanks Rummy!
