Best flanger comparison ever! and less than 5k views...sometimes YT is a joke, all the traffic goes to the big channels and the smaller creators receive nothing. Subbed and keep making awesome videos!!!
you picked most of the flangers i wanted to hear, didnt fill it up with talking or yourself in general, recorded with great quality, showed the unaffected signal right away, didnt do a band-in-the-mix demo, and really fiddled with the controls of each... this was a top-notch demo. thanks for this.
The thing I like about the Electric Mistress is the low-end and the glassy highs. I have a Hartman with the SAD chip but I don't think it gets the low end exactly the same as the original Mistress. I like the MXR a lot on this video. Thanks for sharing and for choosing "Spellbound" to display the pedals' abilities!
I knew it...you're a fan of cold...i saw that with your way of playing in some other videos ! I love Siouxsie and the Banshees ! All are sounding great ! But i really like A/DA, MXR and MOOG (first place), cause it can do some stuff than other can't Great VS btw !
They’re all great. I put the bf-2 on my board cuz it stands up against the others at much less real estate, but they’re all good. Mistress is probably the most iconic/distinct sounding of these cuz of the high end. I had a Thorpy camoflange and sold it and went with the BF-2. Thanks for the great video, followed/subscribed.
Omg that Moogerfooger, you twist the Feedback a little too far and it starts howling, rate going to Ring Mod territory, all these waveforms,... 😍 What a great unit, i'm glad i have at least a Minifooger Flanger, nothing comes close except a Cluster Flux.
Thank you sir, great demo! No talking, no guitar histrionics and a good workout for all the pedals. I indirectly have the Electric Mistress and the ADA (modeled in the Line6 Helix) and the ChoralFlange (modeled in the Digitech Chorus Factory) and I have an actual MIJ BF-2 but I thought the MXR sounded the best and that the Moog was the most versatile. Grass is greener maybe?
Frank Frank thank you! In my opinion, ChoralFlange and Moog are the most thin sounding flangers in the review. Mxr is very nice at slow rate, but it has noticeable volume drop and doesn’t sound as fat and full as bf2 and mistress.
This was Fantastic. So Fair & Unbiased. This is How to do a Pedal Comparison !!! Next time, can you try The Mooer E-Lady, Hartman, Roxanne, Boss High-band Flanger, New Retro Sonic and Thorpy Flanger ( not released yet ). Awesome Job.
great comparison, with clean sound 😊 clearly good musical inspiration 😊 i didnt know the moog one, seem to be very complete system 😊 I mostly play clean with reverb (strymon bigsky) and roland jc with a fender strat amp2. Sometimes I had a Boss BF-1 (yes vintage with 12v and an horrible bypass) and, when I need a drive, a Boss OD-2 mij with 12v. I also have a Walrus Julianna which I lostly din't use. Im considering buying an EHX electric mistress dlx but it seem the recent new version called "walking on the moon" (09/2023) isn't really good. However the pastfx one seem to be more interesting 😊 The problem with the vintage stuff is the bypass and the fragility 😊
I don’t think it’s possible to do a better flanger comparison. And that is a unbelievable collection of flangers you have there. You could probably buy a brand new bogner ecstasy for the price of all those put together. I figured the electric mistress would win this but I think I clearly like the A/DA best. With the Moog and EM fighting for second. I own a Longamp Roxanne (EM clone) and the mxr and I use both for different applications. Thanks for the comparison
I don’t think you could have picked a better riff to demo a flanger than Spellbound. Boss bf-2 is the most subtle, I dig it. I’d have no use for any of the others.
It should be noted that the Fulltone Choralflange is primarily designed for chorus. I have one and the flanges is definitely more subtle (usable?) than most.
Awesome video bro. I’ve always loved the mistress but that moog is wonky. Man I’d love to have one or both. My broke tail is stuck with the neo mistress for now (which isn’t bad by no means)
I think to like the Ada since it seems to be warmer and richer... But I would have liked if you didn't mess too much with the speed knob in order to have a more consistent comparison.
Ed used the MXR live in the clubs but he never duplicated that sweep live especially on ATBL. It's more likely a flanger perhaps not an MXR was punched in on the mixing board because the sweep starts and stops but the sweep rate is constant impossible with perform with the pedal's switch
what a video.... by far, gotta say, good in such way that makes me wanna throw my 2 MIJ bf-2's out of the window and run to buy a EM off some pawn shop or ebay bid, but if I ever get a vintage one, i'll modding and never ending and voiding vintage-mojo-warranty(does it exist? sure u can name it the right way), starting by a LDR for every control, trims out and stuff. I was kinda liking the moog but it's not intended at least for me to be knobbing it off on-stage to get the weirdest squeeze outta those...thx 4 the vid, bye
my old DOD FX747 Flanger is as good at flanging as most of these pedals. Extreme flanging is useless except for that one thing...My old DOD is so quiet, killer buffers too. But it's stereo flange is killer.
1. Mistress is my terrain. 2. Amazed by the Coral Flange, mxr and A/DA units. 3. Moog takes the concept way beyond. 4. I really don't like Boss flangers. No!

Likewise! I am in.
Exactly!

AND pinned the setlist... anything you didnt think of?
@@zhou_sei Thank you! :)
That Spellbound cover rules ! With the M-117 you have instant access to John Mac Geoch's sound signature.
The reason I bought that mxr in the 80s
Best flanger video ever.
The 'ENHANCE ' knob on the A/DA!
The MXR takes it for me, followed by the Boss and EHX.
Electric Mistress for me..
Me too
Electric Mistress is the nicest most musical sounding flanger
Check out the Mooer E-Lady. Its the Real Deal. I play in a Police cover band, and I am Walking on the Moon. Trust Me.
What are your setting for the Mooer for A Summers?
Please god, do more of these demo/shootout style videos on different pedals types because, this was sooooo good and informative
Really love how your channel demos stuff in a post punk / gothic style instead of playing cliched blues and metal
The thing I like about the Electric Mistress is the low-end and the glassy highs. I have a Hartman with the SAD chip but I don't think it gets the low end exactly the same as the original Mistress. Heyy Great job! You have synced those flangers Cheers
Great comp. Convinced me to hold onto my Choral Flange a bit longer. While I save up for a Moog...
I knew it...you're a fan of cold...i saw that with your way of playing in some other videos !
I love Siouxsie and the Banshees !
All are sounding great !
But i really like A/DA, MXR and MOOG (first place), cause it can do some stuff than other can't

The moogerfooger sounds amazing.

omg best flanger demo on internet
can you please do another one comparing boss ce2 and moog and boss ce1
Thanks! I don't have a moog already and ce-1 was sold, but here is my ce2 vs ce1 comparison ruclips.net/video/M2xiSUoYYcU/видео.html
no problem my friend....do you recommend me the moog then for chorus or the boss ?
since you tried the three of them which one is your favorite
My 100% favorite for many years - ce-2. But now I want to buy ce-1 again - for vibrato and using with synths.
2:00 The guitar riff that I wanted to hear it with and the reason for buying a flanger.
Lovely riff from Spellbound.
Thank you sir, great demo! No talking, no guitar histrionics and a good workout for all the pedals. Great demo! Thanks! I like the format. Makes it easier to discern tonal differences. Well done.
Wow you got a lotta flangeedoodles. I love that you figured out spellbound - holy shiita great job 🥰

Flanger: it sends you spinning; you have no choice.... 🎉
Yes! Ok at least one person knows this
Following the footsteps of a rag doll dance, we are entranced
You hear laughter
Cracking through the walls
Great comparison. Love you channel!
¡Excelente comparativa!

I love flangers... It´s a flanger feast! : )
Did this *&!@#$#%@$*# just play "Spellbound" by Siouxsie and the banshees? You're my hero for the day. Great job. btw, they used the MXR in that song.
I don’t think it’s possible to do a better flanger comparison. And that is a unbelievable collection of flangers you have there. Thanks! Moog, A/DA and Choralflange are not mine, I took them from friends only for this demo :)
Just needed s BF1 .. Great job
Eddie van Halen made mxr phase 90 and the mxr flanger so popular
I ❤ Flangers!! Really cool vid & catchy riffs🤘😎👍
The moog is lovely and of course Boss
If you guys are looking for an amazing flanger, try the Maxon fl9 MIJ. Really incredible and musical.
I have the Ibanez FL9
Beautiful sounding pedal
I don’t think you could have picked a better riff to demo a flanger than Spellbound. Boss bf-2 is the most subtle, I dig it. I’d have no use for any of the others.
My vote goes to the Electric Mistress and the BF2. I love how shimmery the Mistress is but goddamn the BF2 sounds *PHAT*
Nice demo dude!!
I don't know what it is, but I don't like the Fulltone... It sounds so dry...?
It should be noted that the Fulltone Choralflange is primarily designed for chorus. I have one and the flanges is definitely more subtle (usable?) than most.
The fulltone is actually a chorus that does some very basic flange.
The Moogerfooger though!!!!
Good comparison. Thanks
Awesome video bro. I’ve always loved the mistress but that moog is wonky. Man I’d love to have one or both. My broke tail is stuck with the neo mistress for now (which isn’t bad by no means)
Would like to see the Hartman Flanger reviewed as well
I'm not sure the regen control on your MXR flanger works as it is intended...
Great timing cuz i am about to buy a flanger and the mxr one is on my list
So, what is your opinion?)
have a look about 80-s ibanez fl-3 with 3 knobs. sound cold as The Cure's early records
I was surprised how the BF-2 sounded similar to the EHX
Electric mistress 👍
i choose boss bf-2
Wow that mxr sounds good. I do think the camoflange is the best for it's features but for the best vintage tone it's the mistress for me
I think to like the Ada since it seems to be warmer and richer... But I would have liked if you didn't mess too much with the speed knob in order to have a more consistent comparison.
That Moog is probably the most expensive and it sounds the least good to my ears. Nothing beats the Mistress.
Ed used the MXR live in the clubs but he never duplicated that sweep live especially on ATBL. It's more likely a flanger perhaps not an MXR was punched in on the mixing board because the sweep starts and stops but the sweep rate is constant impossible with perform with the pedal's switch
John J. Sanchez I completely agree
Good video.
Электрик мистрес самый кайфовый 👍 🔥🔥
what a video.... by far, gotta say, good in such way that makes me wanna throw my 2 MIJ bf-2's out of the window and run to buy a EM off some pawn shop or ebay bid, but if I ever get a vintage one, i'll modding and never ending and voiding vintage-mojo-warranty(does it exist? sure u can name it the right way), starting by a LDR for every control, trims out and stuff. The Mooer should be called the Dank Flange
Nice strat
EHX doesn't seem to be able to get that Siouxsie and the Banshees sound.
Boss for me...
me too!
1. Moog MF-108M 2. A/DA Flanger 3. MXR M117 No Hartman Flanger? Very nice demo, anyway.
John McGeoch would have approved, I reckon. Nice demo!
Spellbound I love John McGeoch
Hi. What flanger pedal sounds better with distortion? Thanks.
Hi. I rarely play with distortion, unfortunately, I can't advise anything
what song are you playing in loop 1?
Just jamming
@@nd_efx ohhh nice, you should jam that one more often it sounds so sick
@@kodakwarrior916 Thank you! :)
ADA is king but the Moog wins in the gets weird stakes but also wins the ugly as fuck award. 🤣
The mistress does it for me.
Ada and EM
Electric mistress all the way
i Want an electric mistress so badly
not to mention that Moog!
my old DOD FX747 Flanger is as good at flanging as most of these pedals. Extreme flanging is useless except for that one thing...My old DOD is so quiet, killer buffers too. But it's stereo flange is killer.
Boss BF 2 !
EHX, then AD/A an moog
I own a boss but I don't find it the best, neither more musical, clearly.
ADA flanger was set only in extreme settings to get people scared of this pedal. Great pedal.
Disappointed.
1. Mistress is my terrain.
2. Amazed by the Coral Flange, mxr and A/DA units.
3. Moog takes the concept way beyond.
4. I really don't like Boss flangers. No!
