Okay the superblast 2 is growing on me. Starting to like it more and more.i just committed to it and after 150ks now i really like it. The mechanics are just different with the high stack but it’s quite nice to absorb the pounding of the road for training.
Just sold my Superblast 2's. They weren't as good as I expected them to be, and they also caused me some issues with the slight arthritis I suffer with in my big toe. Waiting for that bloody Glideride Max to release in the UK
@cadecopeland4143 Oh that's no good. You're the first person I've seen who has had any issues with the Glideride. I'm still yet to purchase it myself as I'm waiting for Asics to release the black colourway here in the UK
@@paulmulks superblast 1 is what you should be looking into, it gives you more room and likely not going to bother your big toe. Glideride MAX is even less volume.

@@JTD33 The Glideride Max rocker isn't as pronounced as it may seem as it's too flexible IMO, but it is more noticeable than the Nova. It's much softer than the Nova also but in terms of flexibility they are pretty similar. That 3/4 plastic plate does do much in the GRM. hi, i has just joined running a few months ago, what shoes are recommended? My average running is 10km and below. My pace is only 6-7, and have wide feet I don't even think about being a hardcore runners. I just want to appreciate the meaning of running. Please advise thank you.
@@etiennericco If you are an ASICS man check out the Metaspeed Sky or Edge Paris. My other favourites are the Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 3 and the Alphafly 3
Up to 10K I've heard the Hoka Rocket X2 should be one of the fastest shoes ever. If you lean more towards 20K, one of the "up to marathon racers" will do. Sky and Edge Paris were already mentioned. And Alphafly 3/Vaporfly 3. When Run-Are is mentioning the Puma Elite 3, then I wanna mention the Hoka Cielo X1. Since I don't own any of those shoes myself, I can just playback what everyone else says on all those super duper raceday shoes.
SB2 would be my choice. I didn't love the GlideRide 3s - they were boring and seemed to be better for walking. I don't think this interation will be an improvement.
Logged around 80km in superblast 2 and Im confused with the "versatility" label people put on this shoe . From a max cushioned guy perspective, its too firm for my easy run (6.30-7.30min/km) as this forcing me to go faster and my HR were higher than average running in em. Still trying to love the shoe after paying a chunk of money for it, hopefully the midsole will soften down soon
Totally agree. Not sure how people are liking these for easy runs. I returned mine for the same reason. If I'm going to run at tempo pace, I'm going to do it in a true tempo shoe. Not that the SB can't do tempo, but they just feel unnecessarily clunky due to their size. Mach X2 has been my go-to all around trainer these days. They're awesome!
I'm just going to be honest and say you probably should not have bought this shoe. It is not made for paces below 6:00/km. You can't really fault the shoe for this. People with paces around 5:30/km or lower will generally like this shoe way more because it actually works as intended at those speeds. It starts giving back. Steady long runs between 5:00 and 4:30/km are its sweet spots for me, but it can easily do tempo and interval runs between 3:15 and 4:00 paces. That's really versatile. My legs never feel sore even after hard workouts. To me it starts feeling clunky at 5:45/km and below. Still my favorite shoe I have ever used, because all of my runs are 5:30 or faster. No shoe can do it all. There are other shoes way better suited for 7:30/6:30 paces.
@@cop3577 I feel you! I had the same experience in them also. What you can do is swap out the sockliner with a slightly more padded one from another shoe. It helps take the edge off until it softens up a little more or you can keep it in.
I don’t think the shoe really knows how fast you’re running. It’s more about the force put into it. I find it an interesting shoe. I do use it for my more uptempo longer runs…. Or intervals. It is horrible for me on long easy, low HR runs. Clunky and dead. As soon as down force is being driven into it,the foam comes to life. The 7min/k easy run ppl will get the same benefit on a 6min/ k run as the Lighter faster peeps will on their long ( and faster ) runs.
The Max shouldn't really be marketed as a Glideride. The Glideride 3 almost did the running for you. It just kept rolling. A more accurate, but less marketable name for the Max would be Sludgetrudge Max. I've tried to take them out again after my initial 20 and 10km runs, but have returned home after a couple of kms both times and put on something else. I'll try again on the weekend because $250 mistakes are not the sort of mistakes I enjoy. On a positive note, it gives me the feeling of running on sand, without getting sand in my shoe. I do enjoy a day at the beach.
@@wordsovsean8905 😂😂 sludgetrudge max! I felt the same when I tried to pick up the pace in them, after that I didn't fight them and just lay back on the foam and bopped along with no pace.
