Your endorsements are always influential. I will probably purchase one because of this video. Thanks. I look forward to seeing additional carving videos using this tool.
I would guess that the Scorp tool is it that right angle cuz they don't want you pushing Straigh on that blade in case it breaks the lock mechanism and folds the knife shut. That would be my guess. By the way, I love your videos I like. They're very inspiring!
I had an older version of this and got rid of it because I found it quite uncomfortable in my hand. Too many sharp edges and ridges that wore on my hand. Hopefully this new version is more comfortable. That being said, it was well made and quite compact. I just preferred bringing a small kit.
I took the Old Timer version to Cuba on a mission trip and gave it to a Cuban pastor who is a woodworker. I tried it and it wasn’t near as sharp as your Flexcut.
I have a suggestion for this tool. And in reality, they should pay me for it, because it's a good one. Just remove the straight tools, and replace them with a sturdy socket to accept any tool. Then, bring your favorites in a little roll and swap them in as needed. When I first started getting flexcut tools, I always got the ones without handles. I've branched out a bit from that plan as time goes by.
Hi Alec. I am just starting to carve by watching videos-i have only done a couple and have a ton of respect for this art even more so now! I started and have only done about 5-6. I started to take my mind of of things! It helps pass some time and wish i had more of that right now but unfortunately i do not! Hope this makes sense. I have a Carving Jack and a couple of other knives! I was thinking of adding this one to my collection and someone mentioned getting a left handed one- made some cuts easier? What is your thoughts on that? Congratulations on the book also! Thank you and have a good day!
Don't waste your time on the Old Timer version ! I bought one at Smokey Mountain Knife Works in Sevierville, TN for $19.95 and let me tell you, ya get what you pay for with this Old Timer. It took several Hours just to get a couple of the blades sharpened ! There is absolutely no blade lock ! If you chance this one, be careful, might want to wear a carving glove trying this one out ! Thanks for awesome videos !
Lo malo del acero de flexcut es que solo sirve para maderas blandas , una vez te salgas de estas maderas como el tilo o el cedro , no sirven para nada , se mellan rápidamente . No sirve para tallar roble, haya , olivo etc ...
I have the original carving jack and the wuality is not very impressive. The company loho, apparently glued on, fell off during the first use. I still kept it. But it's not an optimal carving tool because of the poor quality and it doesn't hold an edge well at all. Just my opinion.
In canada just the carrying case for that knife is $61.00 +12% tax and shipping on amazon I just checked they do not sell the knife. I just found it on line that is a $650.00?kit ARE YOU F*CKIN KIDDING ME!.?
If you buy the left handed version you will be able to push the v scorp and gouge as a right hander.
Such a fun idea!
I bring my carving jack to the beach and campsite, it really is my favorite tool I ever purchased
I'm really liking mine so far!

Thank you very much! You will enjoy it!
Did tightening the tool help the wobble?
Thanks for the review.

I own flex cut tools and I’ve been thinking about grabbing this thing for the past 15 years. I figured it be fun to take out hiking.
Get it you only live once ❤
My is a constant companion while hunting. Keeps me quiet and still and busy
Good idea!!

I really like the idea of buying the left handed version because then you can push the v-tool and score away from you!

I’ve had the 2.0 for a couple of weeks and so far I have been impressed with the quality!
The V tool is only good for right handed carvers

Sounds like you found a scammer on Amazon !
Wow .anywhere from 71 dollars all the way to 189 dollar s .schrade make s something similar for 37 dollar s . I wouldn't pay more than a schrade.
@@RonLynch-hx6nq if you end up buying the Schrade, let me know how it is!
I won't be buying one just for the reason that it has scorp(sp?) gouges. I have never used a gouge such as this and never want to. Blah!
To much talkig
I don't doubt it! I felt myself rambling here a bit! Still learning!
