The lines “join the army of darkness” and “swallow this” and of course “groovy” is just perfect. The references and overall vibe of this song resembles Evil Dead so fucking well!
Ex-Mørtis is what I would call metal blues music and loved this song and Evil Dead is one of my favorite horror franchises as well

I think thats the first and only song in their discography that ends with a fade out. But its such an amazing idea because it fits SO WELL with Farewell II Flesh. The three first tracks and the three last tracks has soooooooo good flows and transitions between them its crazy. This album is made to listen front to back.
Evil Dead is my all time favorite series too. While in high school I rented part 2 every weekend for so long the owner actually gave me the vhs copy when the store closed. I watched Army of Darkness 5 times in the theater when it came out. Groovy

A long time ago, in a galaxy car far away a friend introduced me to the Evil Dead and Sam Rami. I was hooked. Love "The Chin's" dry sense of humor in everything he does.
Ave then there's INK. Horror-based music. And all of that same tongue-in-cheek humor and double entendre. Playing the long game and taking Ash's "groovy" love and making a metal swing song that's so full of groove. And humor. And something so different and yet totally INK at the same time.
In really glad you enjoyed this, Mat. I'm glad the band not only didn't disappoint, but hit this one out if the park.

This is such a fun song! I'm a fan of 'The Evil Dead' too. However, I prefer the 2013 remake over the original. The opening scene is probably one of the best horror openings of all time. But still, I enjoyed all of them!
Yes they are all great movies but the 2013 movie is one of the very few times where a remake just knocks it out of the park! It does something different that doesn't copy or take anything away from the original. Plus the fact that it is almost entirely practical effects just elevates it in my book over modern cgi heavy horrors. Also this song is awesome!

Yeah, this movie plays big in my house, too. Especially with my boy, Ash. Who dressed as, well, Ash for Halloween one year. ONE neighbor got it, and it was SO worth it!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

I may be biased because of the swing riff, but this is my favorite song on this album. Wurst Vacation is a close second.
