Tip: you can run your commands on macos with `time` in front to get the runtime, rather than wrapping it in dates. so, `time npx cypress run`

Playwright is more than 2x faster, in my experience. I write a library that includes tests for both Cypress and Playwright (Automated Testing Kit) and Cypress is more difficult to write the same tests. Plus the Cypress team doesn't respond to bugs as quickly or at all. My prediction: Playwright will take over in downloads in two years and will have greater market share in 5 years.

100% agree. I used cypress initially and told them about issues i had and limitations. They told me I'm doing it wrong. I switched to playwright and haven't had any issues.

Nice to see someone else pointing out `time` (also works for linux, maybe even gitbash on Windows!?). I have to pick a fault with your apples2apples comparison, you're actually comparing aplles2pineapples... the logging that occurs in the cypress test will skew the results, more so as you're also recording the output! If you get cypress to just print a summary (same as playwright) then at least your comparison is fairer. A little time saver if you do something similar in the future: `echo '[]' > ./my-db.json && npm start & srvrID=$! ; time npx ; kill $srvrID` will allow you to clean/start/run/stop in one go, without interfering with the timing.

printing new line to console 1000 times takes time so comparison is not 100% fair
