The people living here are mostly expatriates too.
Defending Dubai doesn't necessarily mean you advocate for the wrongdoings the government may or may not have done, but can also be because people (I) lived here and it gave us decent lives I could not have in my home country.
Look, I can see how America has shootings/killings every year by lunatics and the police, but I will still defend it being a decent place to live in because I know that is not a representative of America. The point being you should weigh the good and the bad before generalizing or stereotyping a place or country. It makes you more wise and seem educated.
And I think it's also Important for everyone to understand something about human behaviour ....which is that ...most individuals will make a decision based off of their Self-interest or any other decision closest to their own self-interest. Once you understand this concept you begin to really understand how the world works and you'll never be surprised by any events you see on the news or by things that people around you do.
@@kyledolor5257 he's referring to the barely paid and unpaid workers who built all their infrastructure, it was a problem you'd see 15y ago living in the middle east and looking at documentaries now it seems not much has changed
This is so freaking obvious, just go and live there a few months and the issues will be laid bare for all. Good for visits but that's about it.....
travel doesnt mean come to be a political activist
Lived there for 10 years. It’s a beautiful city, it’s super clean and safe. Yes the news is suppressed but you realize that too much media exposure makes you negative. In Dubai most people live in a positive hustle culture, dont spread negativity and dont fight with each other based on religion, nationality or race because the laws are strict.

Poor girl Deepti still can't speak about what she felt. As it is also going to be documented, they have to lie about Dubai. I feel sorry for them, as they earn there livelihood from media, they don't have a choice.
Also they are not influencers, they are influenced 😅
@@smanpreet2612 I guess I feel more pity for people who work in the Godi media. Being in their OWN native country they can't speak about what they feel even though everyone knows what is happening. They have to put up a show and blow the trumpet around prime time.

I think the next war will be between influencers and normal people
Still can't figure out what an influencer is, the 21st century is weird...
Despite all these facts, which is true for some extent, Dubai has created many opportunities and home for millions of people who are citizens of some unfortunate nations around the world, where many live freely and earn money to support their families back in home, whereas these accusing western world is closed their borders for those poor nations to even visit them.
@Joel its not the only case. They have small population and opportunities far outweigh the population. anyway lot of people make a living there.
Lol, they don't give any citizenship for foreigners you might mean Residenst or bedouin people. The highest level in the UAE community is its own people, the Emirati followed by westerners mostly from the UK and US the the lowest caste is foreign workers who come from south Asia, India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan
a lot of south asian workers are brought in to dubai for construction jobs lied to about what they will get and end up getting barely paid or unpaid for months, it's a huge problem in the middle east. same goes for filipino and indonesian maids. your comment is only really correct for middle and upper class citizens. i lived in the middle east 15y ago and loved it but i can't ignore a comment saying people from poor nations will live freely and earn money, a lot of them are exploited
In Germany, you might be a number and a nowhere man. But if you relocate to Dubai, there is a good chance that you can be someone owning several slaves from India and the Philippines. Not bad.

I think before this Video, i thought DUBAI IS SOOO AMAZING....
It's amazing in its own right. Their kind of censorship is to protect their reputation, not to protect an oppression they don't have. If they're oppressive, people wouldn't come here. However, their overall strategy is for people to come here and to buy or do business, so the only censorship that you'll find is where they keep their power and their values.
@@kyledolor5257 You just defined tyranny. Every tyrannical rule in history was trying to “protect” itself. That is definitely oppression. Just because people are doing well financially, that doesn’t mean they’re not oppressed.
@@MaryRose007 If they have oppression people living here, such as me, will leave. Did you know, around 90% of Dubai’s population are expatriates/immigrants? Dubai can’t be like North Korea or other Arab countries if they wanna keep having a GDP in the future. That’s part of their plan too-to diversify their economy and not be reliant on oil-and they do that by being partly liberal.
Think of Hank Hill when you think about their conservativeness.
None of them own any ferraris or lamborghinis . It’s all BS

It’s an Arab country, so you really expect western-like freedom? Also, when you live there, make so much money, and are enjoying your life, then just keep your mouth shut, very simple.
It's really simple. the real Emirates are loaded( not all but mostly are)...so they wouldn't necessarily want the influencer-ish type or "jobs" that influencers do..therefore, making if easy for foreigners to fill that void.
influencers are the worst source of information

I'm an expat living in Dubai. The censorship doesn't bother the majority of the residents. “Safest place for women”, in one of the most oppressive countries for female rights🥴😂 London has almost 9 million people, that’s what the entire Emirates has. The London Metropolitan area has 15 million inhabitants. Dubai is just an authoritarian sandbox for tourists, obviously there won’t be any major crime there, the place literally didn’t exist 40 years ago. London is still a far better place than Dubai, and a much more beautiful city, and that’s coming from someone who has been to Dubai 2x. Dubai is Las Vegas, but cheaper, more skyscrapers, and more modern as the city was, again, literally built in the past 2-3 decades😂 You get bored quickly in Dubai, I was bored after 3 days... Meanwhile in London, New York, Paris, Miami, Rome, Barcelona, and etc, you have to be some person to be bored.
@@braydenbronstein1190 2 fallacies I find in your comment.

I guess you must be living in a sandbox to make such a comment. Wherever there are humans there is crime.
2.you are mixing up two things. Women safety and boredom. Those are really two different things. Chalk and cheese. No one is forcing you to stay here. If you don't like . Please leave.

It's so sad to see beautiful souls being censored. Just let things be. Not all but I'm sure you understand.
They let things be. They don't censor like in China/North Korea where they direct you on how to think and live your life. They only censor things that are critical against the government. So far, there's good, if not great, governance in this country that no one really protests. People come here instead of leave, and I think that's saying something.
