I definitely give them what you said about business savvy. But as in any formerly-public company acquisition process, those deals usually happen in shady ways and national enterprises (thus taxpayers) usually get royally screwed. Anyways, thinking that this or any other economic titan makes itself just because they're very very good would be very naive. Not justifying it though.

Let's not forget that Carlos Slim began his empire with the acquisition of TELMEX back in the early 90s. TELMEX was a government own meaning "for the people" telephone company and Carlos Salinas who was one of the most corrupted presidents of Mex privatized everything government owned and Slim was one the beneficiaries acquiring the telephone company at a fraction of its actual price. The question is how much money is Slim paying Salinas till this day for helping him become a multimillionaire or how much of Slims fortune is owned by Salinas? So the title of this Video is wrong. Slim doesn't own Mexico if you ask me. Slim might even be a Name lender for Salinas who is the real Big Dog in Mex. Salinas helped all of Mexicans who appear in Forbes Magazine acquire their fortunes so he is the Jefe de Jefes.

    • @israela.5347
      @israela.5347 Год назад +26

@Miguelc271086 Let's not be naive, De la Madrid had purposely neglect a lot of the Government own companies like Airports, trains, mines, telephone etc and when Salinas came to power he didn't waste time. He neglected more those companies stating that the Government could keep up with the maintance cost so he then decided to privatized everything. Mexico naver saw any benefits. Now tell me did Telmex had better coverage and better prices after he acquired the Company? 30 something years after I still don't see Telmex with Coverage in small towns, is a 1 man show with no competitors. I have family in Iztapalapa Mex and calls drop due to problems with the telephone lines and I also have family in TJ and.... oh well not impressed with their customer service. Now he wants to buy Argentinas government own Phone Company. Good luck Argentina. They will see an increment in their phone bill, best believe. 👌

The dynamics of every family rich or poor is unique, which only the family unit knows. Given that they've been born in Elites family the main objective is for the betterment of humanity. This takes courage, compassion, kindness and Amor which their actions have clearly demonstrated this Love from Above is dominant I their family.

That mariner merchant Phoenecian DNA jet propelled him to become the Mexican businessman extrodinare. I use to watch his yachts pull into the Beaufort, SC marina docks. They cruised the inland waterway from Maine to Florida. His guests onboatd were always quietly sophisticated, humble and intetested in their surroundings in the sleepy little town where much of Fortest Gump was filled. They were calm visitors walking around the historical downtown while interacting with locals. This family has a strong work ethic buffered with respectful attitudes toward others. My own ancestors include the Aztec emperor Moctezuma II and Cortés, the first Viceroys, the first silver barons (the first millionaires in North America), the wealthiest woman in New Spain at the time, old families of Aztec & other Indigenous royalty (including a line to Nezahualcoyotl), the last conquistadors who were descendants of the even older ultimate fuedal lords in Spain, etc!! There are even ties from Mexican families to those such as the Monegasque royal family in Europe, the Grimaldis, or the Habsburgs, etc. Look up the Mexican nobility. Great video. However, This is only one family's success in Mexico. Mexico itself as a country, is richer than many might think. I recently traveled to Mexico for the holidays, and the economy is booming all over the country. The Mexican people were shopping and spending a lot of money prior to Christmas. Hard working people are making a good living according to the country's economy. Can't wait to see Mexico as a power house.

Mexico is an indusrrial power house But with african wages
60 million people living below poverty
Everything cost more in mexico such as kitche aid cake mixer was 250.00 dollars in the usa but in mexico it was 500.00
    Tires, flatscreens etc
Carlos Slims wealth grew by 3X to 6X after 2008 since he owns minera frisco
I do remember many years ago a european group entering the comminications sector....they spent over 500 million setting up their infracstructure and when it was time to talk about cell surcharge to use slims antennas he simply said somewhere around 4.00 dollars per minute.. yes 4.00 per minute. That pushed out the european group and he purchased thsir infrastructure for less then 40 million dollars.
I would say Carlos Slim is a business shark and vwry serious. Although i would like to see him and his fellow billionares turn mexico in to the same exonomic power house that germany has done
Change mexico to a better place were people dont need to go elsewhere for that financial dream

Today, Native American population is 15 million, while the European population, in the Continents of America + Europe, is a staggering TWO BILLION! A shocking sad truth. 😔
In my humble opinion, it's about time to decolonize the Colonized lands, and return it to rightful owners Native American people.

One thing is to be of Middle eastern descent and another thing coming from the Middle East. In that case you can call the Mexican president the Spanish president that rules Mexico since he has Spanish roots. Quite a stupid and misleading title. Please keep your racist division to your self. In Mexico you are either Mexican or not, regardless of your background. Mr Slim without a doubt is a very successful MEXICAN businessman that has been able to profit in his native Mexico and on the international arena.

So his lebanese origins are not really important, well they are because he support lebanese people living in Mexico, but again: in Mexico. He has nothing absolutely nothing to do with middle east.
