    Thank you for creating this very informative and detailed video. I wish you will also be able to create a video for the Honda MDMA automatic transmissions. You would make a lot of us guys who owns Gen1 CRVs very happy.

    One of the best videos on how to. Even showing bolt lenghts. Well done on the details.
    Why don't you pre soak the clutches in tranny fluid and pre-lube the bearings? Won't there be any dry run issies on intial start up?
    Do any of the bearings ever need replacing, like the input and both diff bearings?

      Thanks. Get this question more than any other. Never seen a difference soaking them and not. As soon as you start the vehicle the first place the fluid goes (after the pump of course) is the lube circuit. Never had any issues. Diff bearings on this one and sometimes the 2nd gear. Between the case and the gear. Never seen any others in there go bad.

    Thank you, who knows I might try it myself since I've already swapped the trans out of my accord. Might as well rebuild the old one but I don't have $2100 but I can buy the rebuild kit and have most of the tools.

    Just got into cars, thanks for the vid! Which rebuild kit did you use and any manufacturers that you would recommend? eg Transtar?

    Nice job, i rebuild my baxa but when my transmission is warm and I drive up hill my 4th gear is slipping, when its cold everything is ok. Upshifts from 3-4 is soft.
    What could be the problem?

      assuming that all the valves in the valve body are nice and free, you probably have a problem with the linear solenoid (solenoid assembly that has 2 together). Don't go cheap here. Do yourself and use a factory one, even if you have to get one from a junkyard. They don't go bad that often so don't be afraid to use a used one. But most of the aftermarket ones don't work properly.

    my trans did not have the plunger in trans go spring when taking it apart. Should I get one from a different baxa trans

    • @CurmudgeonTransmission
      @CurmudgeonTransmission  Год назад

      Yes, it has to have the check valve and spring.

      Oh your talking about the Transgo stop. Make your own. .765 long x .186 diameter. Diameter is not too important, just make sure it doesn't bind when the spring is compressed.

      You either have an internal problem that requires a rebuild or you have a probelm with pressure solenoid A & B assembly, or both. It is the only double solenoid so you cannot mix it up. Do not try and replace it with anything other than a factory solenoid. You will waste your money. They are not cheap.

      @@CurmudgeonTransmission Have you ever tried adjustng the pressure on A & B Linear solenoids using a pentagon tool?

    • @CurmudgeonTransmission
      @CurmudgeonTransmission  Месяц назад

      @@jason-things_to_do Yes. It's a waste of time as far as I am concerned. I have never had one it fixed. Aftermarket solenoids are a waste also. I would not put one on unless it was OEM. I would do used before aftermarket.
