I bought some of those. Used them once. It was a miserable day on the slopes. One critical design flaw....Snowfeet are not skis. They are little toboggans for your feet which have grooves in them. You can't cut an edge like skis or turn them to save your life. When you torque them hard to turn, they turn all at once, landing you on your ass if you're lucky and on your face if you're not. That was a year ago. They have since come out with an actual short ski that solves the problem, but it's too late for me. I probably won't do enough of snow hikes with skiing down to justify it. I might go for their assled. That looks like a better lightweight way to get down quickly. An assisted glissade, much lighter than skis.
My understanding is that these are closer to roller skate or ice skates than skis. 20 years of ski experience won’t help. I’ve heard of roller skaters who take to these quickly.
I am far from an expert, but uphill would be next to impossible. You may be able to "skate" them on flat ground much like ice skates if the snow was hard packed. Thanks so much for watching!
I would say no. They are much harder to use than expected. 20 yrs of skiing experience didn't help much. They are very taxing on your shin muscles since there's no forward support like skis. They work best on low angle "green square" trails that are hard packed and groomed. If you are willing to put in the time, they may be great. But it will be hard not to put your skis back on. Thanks for the question! And thanks for watching.
Don’t use them on fresh snow, and use them like inline skates, keeping one foot slightly in front of the other to keep balance and prevent tripping over each little bump. Also, there’s a lot of cheap copies, don’t buy those, they’re terrible.
Did your wife have to make them shorter? I.E. put in another strap? Mine have at least 3 to 4 inches in front of my shoe/boot.
Yes, they are a bit long. Thanks for watching my friend!
Great effort for your first try, it’s get easier and sooooo much fun ❄️🍻
Thank you so much my friend!
Thank you)

Agreed. Not as easy as we had originally thought for sure! Thanks so much for watching my friend.
Do a follow up video. Does it get easier over time?
Great idea! I should.
How do they work on flat land/going uphill for cross country?

It looks like the ultimate beginner slope.
unfortunately it's only for packed snow.... not for bumpy... or not for beginners..... for bumpy snow need strong legs and experience....
Would you still recommend Snowfeet now?
I would say no. They are much harder to use than expected. 20 yrs of skiing experience didn't help much. They are very taxing on your shin muscles since there's no forward support like skis.

Where are you skiing? Looks like a great place!
This is Bolton Valley ski area in Vermont.
how do you stop on that thing?
Stop like you do on ice skates. A quick slide in a sideways direction. Thanks for watching! Beat wishes.
Tip ......it`s all in the hips, like ice skating
That's great! I will try that. Thanks so much. And thanks for watching.
Where are u guys?
Do you need ski boots?
Its basically a snowboard binding with skis. Snowboard boots work best. But you could get away with a high, stiff, hiking boot.
