As a lay Carmelite I love Lectio Divinia it has changed my life. Thank you Father for this beautiful meditation this Advent Season may everyone be blessed and come to live in Jesus. May God always be Glorified Amen 🙏 ❤️✝️
I was just looking to order the new catechism book and I stumbled across Fr. Mark. The first talk was actually a Lenten focus about Letting God Forgive you! It's not even Lent, but Oh my how this touched my heart! Then I went to an Advent talk about the Annunciation! Oh my! These prayer talks are better than ANY counseling! Thank you soooooo much for being such a beautiful, strong shepherd. The Ascension priests and nuns give me hope. God Bless You!
Thank you for this beautiful meditation Fr. Mark. I was looking for your lent series and somehow this started playing and it's exactly what I needed to pray with today and this week. I love all your videos!
Delight in the Lord, and he will give thee the requests of thy heart. So much of this reminds me of Martha, and I must have that rushing feeling as well because I don’t slow down unless I have a hard time waking up in the morning.
Hi Father Mark… I was on Grand Isle in late September supporting power restoration. Father Patrick said Mass the Sunday I was able to go. He told me how much you did to get the parish’s recovery started. It pained me to see blue tarps covering broken stained glass, the other damage to the church and to the Isle. So many homes and camps gone… some left with just pilings. I’m praying for your parish and parishioners, and for all in the Bayou and River Parishes.
Safety ….. Trust ….. I grew up in an abusive household and it has deeply affected my relationship with God where at times I struggle to depend on him because I fear he’s going to hurt me 🥺😢 Love you Lord.
@@isabelhanohano6707 thank you so much sister 💕 that means a lot , please keep me in your prayers that God may heal me from the feeling of loneliness 🙏
Sometimes the language used when talking about God actually reminds of an abusive relationship, e. G. 'without him, we are nothing'. But in the bigger context, it becomes clear that God is not abusive. It is worthwhile to look for trigger passages in the Bible or used in your church that can remind of an abusive relationship. Like this, you start asking and will get an explanation what the actual message behind some sentences is.
Thank you for sharing the practice of lectio divina. I constantly feel open to and pulled by many different things each day, often a difficult religious question or insecurity, so it's comforting to have a resource like this I can use to get closer to God everyday as I wonder what He's asking me to do or to give up for Him.
This is better than counseling for me lol!! Father Toups has such a beautiful gift with words. Hes so calming; you can see the Holy Spirit working directly from him. Thanks Father and God bless you always♥️
Oh Father Mark, what a beautiful deepening way to live Advent! Thank you 🙏 and bless you. Advent and pilgrimage… perfect. Reading scripture slowly and 3 times makes ALL the difference 🙏 for drawing closer to our Lord. We are blessed. Im so excited to continue this Journey with you.
Ft. Mark, this was really beautiful, what you said ministered to me and blessed me. I’ve been struggling spiritually for some time now and even though I want to pray deep down in my heart, I just find it really difficult to actually do it. Your video has helped me a lot. Thank you. 🙏🏽 By the way, what is the beautiful meditation style instrumental music you played in the background in this video? 🎹🎶
I don’t understand this ‘ache in the heart.’ What is it? All my life God has ignored all my prayers & God never provides for me so I had to always take care of myself. This has been happening for years. Any wants or needs I learned to ignore because God doesn’t answer my prayers & ignores me & nothing gets done. I’m better off just fixing the problem myself & leaving God alone. He has more important things to do anyway.
Just some feedback: it wasn’t great to have my prayer experience interrupted by a paid ad. I’m a huge supporter of you guys and I get you have to fund these videos somehow but if there’s the opportunity to decide where to put an ad, I highly recommend not around the prayer exercises.
It’s not about “what we want from God”. We must ask what God wants from us. You’re preaching a very egocentric message, Father. We need to turn from modernism and materialism. Please reflect on Truth.
I disagree, and I don’t know how you found this message to be egocentric. We all have a part in salvation, and the preparations of our hearts for Jesus is very personal. Jesus died for every single one of us, and desires me and you for Himself. It’s completely normal and human to have human desires and wants-God created us that way. Over this advent, I want God to help my husband and I root our relationship even deeper in Christ, and I want us to particularly grow in trust in terms of having kids. That is part of our relationship with Christ. It’s not egocentric to have desires and ask God for what we want. It’s egocentric to not ask, to assume that we can do it all ourselves.
What we want from God doesn’t mean pray for a speed boat it means we ask for things like patience ,understanding , healing things only God can provide . You took something you assumed was about material things because that’s where your mind is at .

Father, what Bible translation are you reading here with us? It really speaks to me.
@Jessica Pracht thank you very much for responding. 🙏😊 truly appreciate it. 🤗
We are in longing and aching for a savior now. But we just don’t know it...
Is the book only in ebook form?

HOW LONG DOES THE BOOK SHIP? WE ARE IN ADVENT
It’s a downloadable e-book. Link is in the description.

@@paigebrown8743 yup totally agree. And God is the one that placed our desires anyways 🥺🙏 I desire healing .. there’s nothing wrong with that.
