    I purchased this kit right after seeing your initial review. As you say the price to pay is not much compared to other simulator products.
    I'm in love since the first experience. In the first few laps it feels a bit strange and it takes a while for the brain to adapt to the feedback we get from the rumble motors, but once we connect... It's amazing how much information we got and was missing before. I've only tried it on the iRacing Porsche CUP yet and what impressed most was the feedback of the lack of traction when exiting corners that is felt in the accelerator pedal... Now I'm more connected to the car than ever and I can control the car with more accuracy and be more consistent in races.
    Without a doubt it's a MUST buy!... Thank you :)

    One weakness that I can see is where and how the wires connect to the motors. With them being bent back and forth maybe hundreds of times per lap as the pedals are depressed and released, how long will it be until metal fatigue causes the copper wires inside to crack and go intermittent? You might want to consider mitigating strategies like installing shrink tubing near those kink points.
    Aside from that it looks to be a great idea.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  2 года назад +1

      I wish I could use this kit on all my review pedals but I can't because the rumble motors are so good that they change my perception of how good a brake pedal is

  • @GINCHILLA1
    @GINCHILLA1 2 года назад +1

    Eventhough this video was made a year ago I want to share my experiences with such rumble motors.
    I bought a similar product with my DC Simracing Pedals (from Spain). They come only with a single motor per pedal (the ones presented here have 2 per pedal). The feeling of wheel lock on the brake pedal or gear shift on throttle felt really amazing and increased immersion massively. SimHub really offers a lot but you need to select the displayed effects carefully. Too many signals in parallel make it feel blurry.
    I finally send the rumble kit back as it disturbed me while driving. Concentration was shifted towards the amazing feel of the effects but my feeling for the brake to rotate the car decreased. As a result my lap times where slower which was for me the killing factor. Maybe I was not patient enough and should have tried it longer to get used to it.
    Regarding quality I have a little concern with these very simple (and cheap) rumble motors that are used for such kits (they all use basically the same imported base motor). In my DC rumble kit one of the two motors failed already after 2 days (of intense testing). They don't seem to be very durable.

    Driving a rowdy 95 Impreza with a 400whp EJ engine in it. No power anything 2700lbs. I feel things in the pedals. This is why I am here contemplating doing this with my current sim pedals to get a more "rowdy" feel. Engine vibrations from the gas pedal, abs vibration from the brake and a little something something in the clutch will be nice for shift engagements as I love to play some BeamNG.

  • @vk3jda

    First off this look like a great upgrade.
    But I would like to see better cable mounting on the motors. I would like to see the cable mounted on the sheathed part cable before the connector and the connector fixed to the motor mount body.
    So the connection dose not move every time the user pushes the pedal.

    Hi Laurence, would you say these would be a great addition if I already have a Dayton BST-1 mounted in the front of my rig? Is there any difference in feel on the pedal between ABS and lets say wheel slip? I am looking at adding these to my Invicta pedals, and looking to probably simulate ABS and TCS, and perhaps additional feeling for wheel slip up front. I've also got a buttkicker 2 under my seat and another BST-1 for the rear wheels.

    Im sure they are a great add on, and probably one that i Will get or make, but lets not be simplistic and compare it with motion Simulator, only depending in personal preferences!
    One thing is your opinion, other is to say to the comunity that this is a better choice... there are a huge range of motion options, that take expertize to project, make, install and configure...and the lack of one of those steps, make some a nota so good Experience, but other a trully Great One, that cant be surpassed by any Sim gadget!
    Yes, i am a builder of Sim equipment and also included motion kits, and u think for a question of respect, one should ONLY advise people and refere those are personal views, and not make simple statements with such a final judgment load, when things are much more holistic and complete!
    But, apart from that, nice review!

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  3 года назад +2

      I take your point, but i said that it's a better investment than motion. the same way a good set of pedals is a better investment than motion. Motion is fun and immersive and I've used many many setups. I also own an NLR V3 seat mover and an NJMotion Compact-R.
      My point is that these rumble motors are a FAR better value investment than a motion simulator. You get more for your money. That is all. You can say that that's my opinion, but the same way a plastic bag is better value than a gucci handbag, these rumble motors are a better investment than any motion system I know of. Hope that answers your question.

      @@LaurenceDusoswa I understood since the begining mate...no base disagreement with what you said, but more in the way that was said that might open the door for misunderstanding. Anyway, diferent products, total diferent segment, i would say that a good motion setup, can also be as good an investment, if one will use it in it's greater potential, and makes the right choice of models/kits, so that the actual Experience is in line with the investment, and if in future decide to sell it, still mantain a high value market. Let's say that sometimes, you can get the practibility of a plastic bag, the looks of a great handbag, without paying the price of a Gucci! I am sure that the future of Simulation is indeed the perfect mix of Visual Immersion (through Aumented or Virtual Reality), with Motion and Haptic systems/kits...so each one in it's place! Cheers and all the best

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  3 года назад +1

      @@simology-virtualreality1739 yeah I don’t think they’re that far apart form a sim upgrade path point of view. They perform different functions for sure. People want motion for immersion. As far as immersive products go, it would be a complete waste of money, in my opinion, to buy motion before buying haptic feedback. That’s just my opinion for sure, and I mean no disrespect to good motion systems and honestly, I’d love to learn more about the motion systems that you provide and build. Fancy joining my discord?

    • @simology-virtualreality1739
      @simology-virtualreality1739 3 года назад

      @@LaurenceDusoswa I would say that in terms of logical upgrade path, they can have 2 diferent positions in the scale...a more primary and more essential to the ones who will never have the means for a full motion rig, or as very good complement for the ones who already own them and want to have all the other essential elements, like haptic elements. For sure, the "normal" path for a "regular" simmer, would be investing in a good set of pedals, a competent wheel base, a good cockpit rig to have them as base, followed by elements like this presented rumble haptic motors and bass/transducers, and Toping with a good motion system...not forgeting in the middle a good visual setup. I will gladly join your discord for some good Sim talking, and will be my pleasure to talk about my personal experience in the last decade, both as a user and a builder of SIm projects, particulary motion systems...Thanks

      Nope, no instructions but they have a good active discord community. I did an unboxing (first impressions) video where I showed my install process

    While I'm sure pedal vibrations are an upgrade, and a fairly inexpensive option. Transducers are the real deal. Even 4 small pucks blow the doors off pedal rumble motors. My Fanatec pedals had rumble motors, they barely provided useful information. I removed them once I got my full transducer setup going. The amount of useful information coming through the transducers that is both directional and complex is a hard to describe. In my opinion it's worth looking into.

      Except that Fanatec's rumble motors were never anything more than a small gimmick. I do agree that transducers are the way to go but for pedals it's not that important (unless noise bothers u)

      The fanatec motors simply aren’t comparable to a mains powered motor system with 10+ times the power. I have a transducer here too and the differences (for my uneducated mind) are minimal. For my pedals I simply can’t imagine transducers giving me ‘more’

      @MikeG... Fanatec rumble motors are a joke compare to these. The review is 100%. These are one of the best sim upgrade on the market.

      nope. they're so good that I don't run them on pedals that I review :D I'd love a little break in pedal reviews so I could run them again :D

      @@LaurenceDusoswaThat sounds like a reason to do a K2X + These review.
      Together the two kits are still cheaper than CSL Elites V2. Could do a “DIY vs Premade” review or something!

      I don’t, but only because I use different hardware all the time. If I wasn’t reviewing hardware, I probably would still be using them

    You could have turn the pedal on their side to fit the screw . . .

      Unless it was perfectly on its side it’s very difficult still. Blu-tac did the trick ;)

    Has he gone rogue or something? I already paid for the product :(
