- In near-perfect fashion, Jack Robinson left no doubt that he was meant to earn a Sunset Beach CT title. Robinson's insane double-barrel earned him a near-perfect 9.87 and backed it up with an 8.17 to defeat Kanoa Igarashi and equal Jordy Smith's milestone of six CT wins.

Since it hosted the first Championship Tour event ever in 1976, Sunset Beach has long stood as an old-school test of power surfing. And while timeless rail-to-rail surfing still dominates, a new school of surfers is beginning to redefine the wave with a more modern approach. Who will win out, and who heads to colder waters on a hot streak?

Robo is a mix of Tom Curren, Andy and Bruce Irons, simply perfect!!! 💎
please cancel the final 5 format at trestles or take it to north shore. Dream tour should inspire people with legendary heavy waters in Ohau
2x pts Hawaii, Tahití, Fiji
Exactly!🤙🏻
i thought kanoa surfed more aggressively through the event but you couldn't deny that final from Jack
Double barrelled commitment.
look, people want to see these elite surfers in heavy water, margaret river, chopes, pipe, fiji, not kiddie waves like trestles
Best Talent since Andy Irons
Judges must've lost the 1 and 0 from their keyboards.
How was that not a 10 at sunset tho?
Absolutely, Trestles is an absolute farce. Great for beginners or someone returning from injury. Definitely not for the world's best and not for deciding a world champ in a single day. A ridiculous format at a ridiculous location. Geez Hawaii was good though. Well done Robbo - smashed it :)
