I forgot to film that part - you didn't miss it 🙄 I took the scanned leaf sketches and then printed out the reverse image onto vellum and rubbed the image/vellum onto the encaustic painting. But you could definitely just rub the graphite image onto the painting. If you want take a look at this quick video where I show the vellum transfer. ruclips.net/video/KqQpiFyputs/видео.html
@@C0raBr0wn Let me let you in on a little secret I just figured out because my toner printer just started acting up. The vellum that I use works with inkjet printers too! It's not as easy to transfer the ink and its not as crisp/clean if that makes sense. It does work though. I'm planning on an upcoming video to show this but it's probably a few weeks out. So in the meantime try it out and see what you think. 😍
@@StudioStacy I'll try it. I've had reasonable success printing on tissue paper with my inkjet printer and embedding the tissue paper into encaustic pieces.
I just sketch/trace the leaves from the gelli plate prints. Then I scan them into the computer. I don't actually draw them on the computer. I have a program called Artisan, which I used to use for digital scrapbooking way back in the day. I use this program to arrange them, but I think you could use a less robust program. Or just arrange them how you want them and retrace them. Hope all of this makes sense. Feel free to reach back out if it doesn't. And as always thanks for following along. 😍
I think I missed how you transferred the leaf drawing to your base coat of wax. Were you just rubbing a graphite drawing onto the wax?

@@StudioStacy thanks for the tip and the link to the video. Now I just need to get my hands on a toner-based printer.

@@C0raBr0wn yes tissue paper works great. 😍
Stacy, what program do you use for the outline drawings?
