This is personally one of my all time favourites in regards to Em and also in regards to his collabs. You guys have somehow given me a whole new appreciation for this masterpiece. Such a forensic analysis of such a great song. Absolute LEGENDS! Thanks so much for that reaction guys. #239 PS: Congrats on the 6k also 😉
This song helped me through rejection , then my addictions. Bro... Lil Wayne and em helped me twice , I bow down to them This and "believe" have always been my go to songs
“Cold-hearted from the day i Bogarted” Evan Kidd Borgart was a A&R way back in interscope, he was the one who originally discovered Em, took Em’s tape and gave it to Jimmy Lovine. Em’s tape somehow finds it way to Dr Dre the rest is history
Yay, you're back! Oh, I love this so much. the song has just such a great vibe to it! And definitely due to Wayne. His verse is just so smooth and deliberate and carefully worded. I love it for the pointedness with which he uses words to say what he wants. I always interpret "my bars are full of broken bottles" as "my words are sharp and can cut you up if I want to" and that he's speaking about painful things from his past as well. I completely agree about the sample! So good! I am pretty certain (although I haven't seen it mentioned before) that Eminem used the "you can never break my stride" as a shoutout to the song "Break my stride" by Matthew Wilder. Although I could be wrong but it just bounces in a similar way. Also, it fits with the next line (Break my stride: Ain't nothin' gonna to break my stride Nobody gonna slow me down, oh no I got to keep on moving ) And Eminem: And you can never break my stride You'll never slow the momentum at any moment Anyway.... good to have you back! Oh - no song on Recovery? Maybe do "25 to life" too? Love that one.
Definitely a fan of these dudes... My personal top 2. So lucky to be able to say that I've seen them both live in concert. Just need to see Kendrick now and my bucket list would be complete lol
Part of what I love about your reaction is that it also includes a lot of talking and pausing but it's not annoying cuz you guys listen to things for a while before going back
Years ago when I heard this and Em’s use of “fellow”, I sat back and waited for the other shoe to drop. Then “hot metal”, “fellow” and finally the closer…Marsh is not mellow! 💥
Listening to your breakdown the same preciate Eminem so much more than I already was in love with this song. Plus it makes me genuinely feel like I think Eminem here's the world differently than most people. he could find them from the air
You guys are very good at this analysis business. A great example in this song of the way Eminem will just do weird things in a way that he sounds/pronounces as need to fit inside a line is when he says "the marsh is [space] not mellow". it's like an eighth or a sixteenth note. It's insanely specific!
love the drums and sample on this song, the verses are fire of course too but good catch those snares are godlike also if you guys read this you should react to "Beautiful" by Eminem at some point. It's not super bar heavy but its just one of his most underrated songs and it belongs on ur playlist if you havent heard it
10:40 nice catch , peephole ~ people , as people(fans or even haters) can keep knocking on his doors (asking for attention) , but people(haters) will never knock him down.
Dude - I agree. Not that wayne's on the same level technically! Definitely not. But I personally love his slow flow and the pointed way he uses words to say a lot with very little. Eminem in contrast uses a lot of words to say not so much. So... actually, that makes the song even better to me! They both counterpoint each other. I still find Wayne's verse nicer to listen to but this is one song where the two artists really work exceptionally well in combination.
6:54 have been listening to this song for years , but that I never got it . I never paid much attention what this actually meant , it just sounded good. Now it is deep man😞
The worst of RUclips is everyone follows everyone else .. Like I'll see a reaction to a song and then next week every other reactor is reacting to that song and the exact same bar breakdowns like honestly I look forward to rare song reactions the ones that aren't reacted to by EVERY reactor on RUclips ...you guys are good reactors and I say this hoping you won't be like them and go against the grain and maybe take notice of bars that ARE NOT the most obvious ..I realize it probably won't be easy but some do promote songs that are less popular

Why does nobody catch the fact he is dissing Lil Wayne . Snatching the mic from his hand. Telling his to back to the lab and scribble out the rhymes . Etc

That's called CADENCE
and he is a fucking MASTER at it
Wayne says so much with so little words. One of my absolute favorites.

Supergroup of Eminem, LiL Wayne, Techn9ne. That would be a sick group.

The best break down I've seen
React to Emienm - Greatest
Payman mentioned some lines from Talking 2 myself from Recovery....u should break it down

Recovery is my favorite Em album, not saying it’s the best, but still. Please do more 🔥🔥🔥
On the last Tech N9ne album you have a feature with Wayne (Too Good) his verse is crazy, I'd love to see your reactions 😃
This comment was posted 2 hours ago so it might not be factually accurate. It's likely that Tech N9ne has released another album since this comment.

Good job guys!
When Im gone is lyricly good song, would be nice if you do it.

The context of this song is supposed to be representing Eminem’s getting bullied as a child and put in a coma.
You gotta have 2 outta 3: cadence, speed, substance.

2 masters of the game. 🔥🔥🔥

A pragmatic reaction 😏
Marsh is not mellow, marsh he mentioned here is marshall, himself
