Everyday Robots should've won this prize, don't you guys think? I mean, Damon is one of the few out there capable of turning his sound more ethereal with each release, might it be Gorillaz, the wonderful and sometimes underrated too The Good The Bad and The Queen project, his solo opera explorations or even Blur. Everyday Robots seemed to gather together all the Albarn sound paraphernalia into one abrasively suitable and gently awkward package. With its freak-folk winks and beats camouflaged into some of his tenderest melodies, it's a deeply personal record, we can feel it as we listen to it and the Mercury Prize should've acknowledged it (even though the Young Fathers record -the one that won the prize in 2014- is excellent too). Damon is definitely one British pride!
