Her books Committed and Big Magic are in my top ten! She’s a great guest and keeps the conversation flowing. The studio setup and lighting looks great on her.
“I was trying to help myself, and I went as far as I can go on my own, now I’m more interested in collective healing” I loveeee that quote, and it changes my perspective on my healing journey.
Thank you ladies for this amazing podcast! Incredible topic! Could listen to her for hours-authentic, vulnerable & informative… absolutely enjoyed this wholeheartedly!! “True self-care is creating a life you no longer want to run away from.” Wow in tears!
I love this podcast so much. The range yall have through each episode is amazing. Some episode are fun, funny and wild while others, like this one, are educating, life changing and thought provoking. I love you KiKi and Medinah keep going yall!!
I really enjoyed this episode. It’s my first time tuning into this podcast but I’ve grown so fond of Elizabeth Gilbert since reading Eat, Pray, Love and have been binging her interviews on RUclips which is how I got here. This is the first interview I’ve seen of her being interviewed by a POC and I immediately noticed how much more “normal” it seems to be for Caucasian women to openly admit to and discuss mental struggles, life struggles, addictions and perceived failures and shortcomings. It was interesting to hear the hosts respond with “wow” or “that’s wild” to some of the things Elizabeth mentioned lol. I got the sense of POC defaulting to “being strong” even while having vulnerable conversations. But anyway I really enjoyed this! 🤩
I wasn’t fully aware of EG before, but I definitely am now❤ I so resonate with her philosophy. 100% believe we choose our experiences and remind myself of this every time I’m feeling uncomfortable friction.
I love this live audience setup.... yall need to take that pivot to ' Cocktales: Life discussions' so yall can expand Keep up the great work. really love this concept
This episode is really hard for me to get through. I’ve had to stop playing it for a few days and keep coming back. This is really mind-blowing. I always felt that something about me was off but to hear her describe this in detail @ 26:00 it’s actually kinda scary. Like, why am I like this? & WTF am I supposed to do? I’m honestly scared for me and my son bc I never thought it was this bad😫 SEND HELP
WOW this was amazing. she said some really powerful things here about inner child work and cycles that I relate to so much. I found myself having to end my relationship because of how unsafe I felt in conflict. I found myself wanting to physically run toward the end because of how defensive and invalidating he was, but I almost allowed him to get me back by promising to work on himself. Ms. Gilbert spoke about taking care of her inner child, and as someone who never truly felt protected as a child, that is a role I need to take more seriously going forward. It would’ve been so easy for me to do the dance with him, but deep down I know the relationship wasn’t right. I need to get her book!!
God bless you Liz and thank you, for your honesty, bravery and continuous service to women and the world. You will never know how many you have helped, merely by sharing your experience strength and hope. Xx
New sub, loved the interview, love Liz Gilbert, what she said is so true and resonated so much, described me to a tee unfortunately. THANKS FOR GREAT VIDEO!
Based on what data 📉 and also how do You know the “because” Current data shows only 1/5 married women are SAHW and the is still a very prevalent wage gap between men and women based on systemic reasons. Now i personally make more than my husband does but we chose different career paths - but if we had the exact same career, regardless of my desires, data says my husband would make 10 to 15 percent more simply because he’s a man. Now if you believe 1/5 women is “a lot” i can accept that, but to say women don’t make more than their counterparts bc that want to be stay at homes wives- I’m not sure how you would derive that conclusion.

I’m 41mins in and I am SEATED
A needed conversation, I use sex to escape and it’s hell because I’m willing to put up with the worst kind of behavior for it.
🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great show, and good conversation. My only contention is Kiki, Madinah nor the guest discussed the cause of her addictive behavior.
Traumatic emotional experience early in life causes love/sex addiction.
❤

A lot of married women don't make more money than their counterparts because they want to be stay at home wives for 40 plus years.
