    Love the battery page idea. I created something similar for my various battery-powered sensors using grid cards.

    Chris keeps his kitchen pretty cold. He must keep the milk on the counter. 😅😂 Great video!

      Best way to have a huuuge fridge

    • @mostlychris
      @mostlychris  2 года назад +2

      Haven't you ever seen a super market fridge. If you don't have doors, you don't have to yell at the kids to keep 'em closed. I need to go look at what ya'll are talking about.

      @@mostlychris I think you had the fridge or freezer thermometer labeled kitchen if I remember correctly. 🤣

    Another great tutorial Chris. Thanks for making it. Very helpful. How did you handle the MQTT sensors that you defined for your weather station in Dwains Dashboard since they do not have Areas assigned? Can they be added manually by adding cards and referencing the Entities as you describe?

    • @DougLight
      @DougLight 2 года назад

      Actually, I realized later that by going back and adding a "unique_id:" to each of the MQTT weather sensor definitions, you are then able to assign an Area to each one using the UI to populate automatically to the proper area under Dwain's Dashboard. You could also set the Area for each to "Weather" and group all your weather sensors for easy viewing. Hopefully that helps others who are learning as I am.

    Doesn't work, only errors in dwains dashboard like: "custom element doesn't exist: dwains-dashboard-layout" or "homepage-card" problems noted on github page last year and no fixes

    Thank you Chris, this makes most people life very easy. Just a question can the dashboard be shown on kiosk browser ie porch just showing alarm panel and say all lights , kitchen area just showing kitchen entities, so we can use say a old phone for each area as control panel. Thank you in advance. Ajay

      @mostlychris  2 года назад

      Hey Ajay. I haven't tried that. I'll have to do some experimentation. I'm not sure if there is a direct URL to each room... actually I just checked and it appears there is a UUID created in the URL for each area. You might play around with putting the URL in something like Fully Kiosk and see how it renders.

      Aside from the various smart plugs around the house, I use Emporia and and Aeon Labs sensor. Take a look here for all the stuff I use: www.mostlychris.com/my-smart-home-gear/

    Chris How did you get your cameras to work? I used the blueprint and put in my rtsp address but nothing shows up. If I use Lovelace card it works but then I can't add it to favorites.

    Hi, could you please make a video on how did you integrate your DSC alarm system in HA? I'm really interested in DSC integration for my own home. Kind regards, Adrian

      force a refresh of your browser

    • @olabikoye
      @olabikoye 2 года назад

      You can resolve that by clearing your browser cache or using another browser to login.

    • @mostlychris
      @mostlychris  2 года назад

      As mentioned, you'll need to clear cache. I think that is even mentioned in the docs for the dashboard.
