Hmm, interesting. You TedEd speakers do manage to explain relevant information in many platforms so I know for a fact that this won’t be disappointing. Cheers.
This is just my personal opinion, but i feel like the 2D art style that is shown when they are in the apocalypse scenario is vastly more aesthetically pleasing than the 3D style. Of course, maybe in each episode there will be a different art style for each scenario. Nonetheless, I enjoyed this quite a bit and I look forward to more!
@@Pro-kesh i doubt. I'm not one who wants to live a really long life. I'm ok to die at 60-65. I'm afraid (and even have a phobia) of acute sickness, disabilities, old age and being unfit to serve myself way more than death. I'm always fascinated by the people who would like to live forever, if one takes a moment to think about it, it's more of a curse than a blessing. I may sound pessimistic but I'm not. I'm just one who wants to live a happy, kinda short life.
@@jaeboston8455 yeah im weak, im no fighter. I admit. Guilty as charged. Just take me to the other side. The world is bad already as it is, imagine with an apocalypse. Not for weak people like myself
That old and tired librarian is too stereotypical, almost cliche. In an apocalypse, most of the librarians I know would probably be dispensing knowledge on rebuilding society and reconnecting with neighboring towns all while having craft beers in hand.
This animation made me a bit ambivalent. On one hand, I appreciate and enjoy the marvellous animation. On the other hand, I disagree with the scenarios urgency for electricity; a resource and luxury humanity has lived without up until - for scale - quite recently. I'll give the presentation a like and look intrigued towards the hope of the next episode to be a little more... catered to my own selfish perception of reality 😅
Wow, Ted Ed is doing an indie animated series? I'm in. Also, whilst Ada is too blind to human nature and the fact that nobody thinks like her to see the bigger picture.
I think about this all the time. And I think about how violently and completely civilization/society can break down amidst catastrophe, war, etc. It fills me with such dread to contemplate existing in anything remotely close to a post-apocalyptic world. If I didn't have people that depend on me, I'd probably check out at the start of such an event.
This sums up a lot of horror/action/apocalypse films though-things are rough, and normally you wouldn’t be able to deal with them, but you have to, for the sake of a kid or a disabled person or just someone in general. Things can be scary, but it must be so much scarier for them and you can do things they can’t
7:12 woah, I never thought that in an apocalypse, people would use the radio to broadcast information about how to survive, like once you get the radio you get a very primeval internet and can do way more than before. In shows its always used to locate the next place to go because, well, that's a very helpful narrative device.
I think I'll really like this series, it kinda gives me "Think Like A Coder" vibes. The topic/s seem very VERY interesting too. I think that big blond librarian will be the negative obstacle in every future senario, the one who just makes things harder slowing her down. And Ada is basically me!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Keep it up Ted-Ed! You are the BEST channel in the world!!!!!!! ❤👏👏👏👏🌟⭐️
Assuming you don't get killed in the initial death wave. Assuming you won't get killed by looters or the like. Assuming you don't get very sick and die. Assuming you are healthy enough in the first place.
there was a time when i kept wondering why some people seemed to naturally draw others in while i was just…there. no matter what i tried, i couldn’t figure out how they did it. then someone mentioned the book Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki, and i decided to check it out. the way it explains how your aura affects everything around you? it blew me away. it’s like having a secret code to unlock your magnetic energy. this book is a game-changer.
Indeed you can't! Human beings need a balanced diet, comprised of not only sugar, but fats, proteins, vitamins, and mineral salts, as well. Maybe they'll start ranching and farming?
The needs really depend on what kind of apocalypse you're dealing with: Nuclear, cold, heat, flood, relentless extreme weather phenomena, plague, mushrooms, global blight/collapse of food production, crab, totalitarian tyrant empire, drought, giant bugs, deforestation, isolation, exhausted oil, meteor, religion, science, financial reset, easter island, super bacteria, solar flare, or a complete break down global communication in a pontipool tower of babel situation.
In my experience, people usually only care about a polluted river once it catches on fire. There isn't really an appetite, especially now, for "large scale, systemic changes, or preparation". Also, personally, I am not a fan of this kind of format. I think your other videos - which explain without a narrative story - are more instructive/interesting.
Definitely things to consider, I'm looking forward to the next episode. I thought I had recognized the voice actor for Ada, looked it up, and sure enough Rachel Rial voiced Careena in Visions of Mana. : D
You know you watched too much The Walking Dead when you feel you already know everything this series has to teach haha. But interesting concept nonetheless!
The fact that we're getting this for free is crazy! It feels a bit random coming from you but it's so great! If the rest of the episodes are anywhere near as good as this one, this series will be a banger! It's definitely early to say this now, but I could totally see more seasons of this!
i remember feeling like i was always the one fading into the background while others stood out effortlessly. it was frustrating and made me doubt myself a lot. then i came across this book, Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki, and it showed me things i’d never even considered. it’s not just a self-help book; it’s like a guide to understanding your own energy and using it to connect with people. if you’ve ever felt like you’re not seen, this book might change everything.

You should do an episode of History on Trial about Nicolae Ceaușescu.

The light tone in which she said "in the next episode we'll tackle a world where you can sell your organs :D!" was hilarious lol

As long as surviving isn’t done through Vault Tec then I’m fine with any method in surviving an apocalypse. Except cannibalism
