Dynasty/Samurai/Orochi haven't changed much in 15 years and that's why I adore them. Games are needlessly complicated today but this franchise has always been mindless hack and slash.
Agree very small changes but I love the countless unlockables in the game. I just wish they remastered Dynasty Warriors 3/4 and 5 into a bundle that would be amazing
I love the combat but wish they would make a new video game set in fantasy realm. Like elves, orcs, etc….. new story, characters but keep the same combat/ simplicity.
They have dynasty warriors online which is superior to all of these garbage offline solo games but for some reason none of these reviewers will ask for the full online game. I dont know why anyone promotes this trash when they are keeping ssmoz to themselves
I wish they would bring back the custom character feature. Sure it's never been something really extravagant, but was still cool to create yourself and run around living your fantasy as a samurai.
They have pretty well just decided that goes in their empires variations of the games. Dw9 empires has already shown theirs and im sure the eventual empires version of this game will have it.
It’s Oda Nobunaga as the main character. That alone is all I need to know since he’s one of my most favorite historical figures. Also, Samurai Warriors and Dynasty Warriors are some of my most favorite series of all time and I’ve owned or currently own every game that has come out for both. I’m super excited for this to come out in a few weeks but it also comes out on the same day that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 comes to Xbox Series X and I’ll most likely be playing that on my Series X first. However, I already own that on PC so…
big fan of Warriors games here. I have been playing them since DW4 on the PS2. For me they give the combination of hack and slash action and the Diablo feel of constant loot, leveling up and min/maxing and playing with upgrading and setups of various attributes. That being said this one doesn't look all that different from SW4 apart from the artstyle. Will probably pick it up anyway.
Been around since dynasty 1. However I'm a samurai warriors guy for life. Love those characters more. I'll miss my guy Zhao Yun but I got hanzo and many other favorites. Pre-ordered even tho it probably isn't worth full price. It's the fact these 1v1000 is hard to come by and I want to full support them. And 🤣"samurai 5 isn't a hard game" someone hasn't played the hardest difficulty and taken arrows to the face, end up losing. Good time rage moments.

"it's a re-telling". Literally every musou game is a re-telling. It's a romanticized telling of actual world history. Doesn't give much room for new and unique story additions.

I am _so_ excited for this. I've only played Samurai Warriors 4 on PS4, but it's easily my favorite musou game. Really wish there was a physical edition that came with all the stuff from the digital deluxe version, though. I don't like buying digital unless it's on PC, and I'll be picking this up for Series X.
Never thought I’d see the Day when samurai warriors would cut half of the base roster characters from the installments over the years to tell a story... kinda sad really, was hoping for some in depth father/daughter interaction between Mitsuhide and Gracia!😞

I honestly can't wait for this game. I haven't played Samurai Warriors since the Samurai Warriors 2 Empires. I somehow never knew 4 or 4-Empires came out and Samurai Warriors 3 couldn't work on my Wii when I was a kid so I am really excited for this to release.
Is the mission alerts voice acted in English? For example, in a tiny font at the bottom of the screen, it says, "The West Door is Open. Archers are Attacking!" Sometimes these alerts in warriors games are very important because if you ignore them the mission will end. Are they voice acted in English? If not, I think I might have a hard time playing the game due to my vision. I tend to miss these alerts because I am too busy attacking or exploring.

Nobunaga does have a mustache, it's just the younger version of him does not. When he gets older in the game it is more similar to the design we all know and love.
It's a story of how Nobunaga started as a younger lad, yet they completely skipped past his actual ladder-climb in the Oda clan. Sure Mitsuhide was important, but he died shortly after Nobunaga did. Sounds like they rushed brainstorming and just said screw it.
Anyone know how the online coop works on this one? Like you gotta beat the missions first? And does the friend get booted out after battle like empires? and are you both in the same instance or separate??

The game looks super cool but it seems that there is no English voice acting. I cannot understand what they are saying and it is hard to try to read what they are saying while in the middle of a lot of action. I just can’t connect with the characters very well.
Cannot wait for this to come out, after Dynasty warriors 9 (worse game in the 3 brands) needed to get back to basics. If it's not broken don't fix it. 😎👍🤘

Apparently all characters fight exactly the same when using the same type of weapons, where two characters with preferred weapons don't have any variation. If true, I'd be pretty disappointed. The game looks a lot better than previous games, but the gameplay doesn't look like it evolved. I still want this though.

I wonder if the weapons are actually only skins or completely unique weapons. But because there are 15 weapons if I remember right at launch, these are probably just skins 😒
I don't like so much how some games are "evolving" since FFX i believe, every charachter can do everything, i know peopla has own likings, but still isn't it taking away the feeling of having unique skills and weapons? and own personality too?
After not touching Musuo games for a decade, after Persona 5 Strikers I'd really hoped that they evolved into something I could love (as I absolutely ADORE Strikers); but that demo just didn't do anything for me, maybe it opens up after a few hours, but everything felt so limited.

Sucks that this Samurai Warriors , don't have Create-A-Warrior , i always had fun with that , after beating Story mode bout the Main Cast normally and again on harder difficulty. But after playing Hyrule Warrior games and Fire Emblem Warriors , guess doesn't bother me that much , but still sucks though.
This is good. Glad to see it's not that different. When I see a review of any game, I like the unbiased opinion, except for the Musou games. You need the opinion of someone who loves these games to get a clear view other than "it's just another warriors game."
I think you forgot one more fact there are clones cause koei likes to be lazy literally that one reason Is why I will not buy this game I will not support laziness. Oh and there are no dubs which hurts this game even more (for the record yes i actually like the dubs in these games, yes they are bad but funny and cheesy bad to the point I love them makes me enjoy the game even more and the characters)

On high star hard mode the game really demands some careful aproach with named enemies , mainly the need to have a strong char.

I agree, i can do it with anime, but not in a game. It's so easy to mis the dialogue when you are in the middle of a battle.

Sucks that this Samurai Warriors , don't have Create-A-Warrior , i always had fun with that , after beating Story mode bout the Main Cast normally and again on harder difficulty.
But after playing Hyrule Warrior games and Fire Emblem Warriors , guess doesn't bother me that much , but still sucks though.

When I see a review of any game, I like the unbiased opinion, except for the Musou games. You need the opinion of someone who loves these games to get a clear view other than "it's just another warriors game."

I think you forgot one more fact there are clones cause koei likes to be lazy literally that one reason Is why I will not buy this game I will not support laziness. Oh and there are no dubs which hurts this game even more (for the record yes i actually like the dubs in these games, yes they are bad but funny and cheesy bad to the point I love them makes me enjoy the game even more and the characters)
@Choua Lor so much for koei saying this a revamp for the series how embarrassing revamp right clones no dubs, revamp my ass. To be honest I think they need to stop releasing the games here in the west if they don’t wanna listen to their western audience Honestly I know someone is gonna say clones don’t matter I’m waiting for that comment just to ignore it because it’s that type of an ignorant warrior fan.
FYI PC version is awful, the framerate is terrible, the camera deadzone is huge and the motion is jerky
