I think this might be the third time I've watched this . Because it is informative and I'm trying to decide on a kit for my 650 XT Max . We appreciate you doing the video . Keep up the good work on the build. Thank you
Thanks very much for checking out the video and commenting! It's been over a year now with the lift and no problems. Nice to have that extra clearance!
4 time . Cubbeezxs wondering if you've done a review after having them for a couple years on how you feel about the lift and the tires and I'd hate to say if I've missed it. And again thanks for making the video I know I've said it before still a good reference to keep going back to.
Don't think we've done a specific video but may have mentioned it here and there. No complaints at all about the lift...we haven't had any issues with it at all. Tires are good too....a bit firmer than the Zilla's but better in the soft stuff and they ride surprisingly smooth even with the big lugs. Glad you found the video helpful and thanks for watching!
Just a little tip for anybody working on there Rigs, A good way to keep Rust off all the Nuts and Bolts as your putting them back on your Rigs is by using WD40 on them and the WD40 will act as a Repellent to water whenever you feel the need to take a Dip with your Riggs lol. Awsome videos mate, Keep up the good work!
Truly the Beast now! Adjusting the toe-in on the Grizzlies is a like challenge. Will also be better with the tracks on in the winter, less bottoming out. Will be interesting to see how it handles on the trail . . . after the storm. We got vicious thunder storms, some hail the size of golf balls on Saturday morning (size of soft balls just 5 minutes down the road) and about 100mm of rain between Saturday and Sunday, NASTY. You can have it now lol!
Canesser We were out in a torrential downpour Saturday, got soaked but made it home safely before the hail. Sounds like you had it worse than us though..YIKES..soft ball hail can do a ton of damage! Thanks for checking out the video.
Hi , was looking on RUclips for a lift kit install and found your video, seeing this is four years ago , how is the kit holding up on the machine ? Any issues ? Thank you , you have a new sub!
cubbeezx thanks to you have the lift kit on order as well as the same slip on. I’m in Saskatoon so I don’t think we will be twinning lol. Again thank you very much . Hope your doing better and everything is well.
Looking good Cubbee! Definitely looks better with a few more inches of GC. Good tire choice too. I'm not trying to be a downer, but do yourself a favor and upgrade your axles when they break. I haven't seen an Outy with a 2" bracket lift that hasn't snapped axles shortly after. Maybe all the guys I ride with just have heavy thumbs, but my theory is that the OEM axles can't support the added CV angles. Aftermarket axles seem to do OK. I know 2" isn't a lot, but when you add full suspension travel to it, your trailing arm will be all the way down in that notched out area. I've seen it happen a lot! I hadn't seen that spacer before. That should take care of the issue they had with the right rear axles pulling out of the diff tho. Simple solution really.
+Poseidons Lair Thanks very much....really happy with the extra clearance from the lift and the tires. We have heard from others about the stress on the axles so not sure what we'll do yet..appreciate the advice and thanks for watching! (Good to hear the spacer should fix the rear axle issue.)
Hi cub beauty of a machine I’m waiting for my 18 to get built how’s the realibility on these machines and maintenance? I owned several Yamaha grizzly but the fun factor ain’t there hence the switch and the rebates on the 18 I couldn’t resist.
The fun factor is VERY HIGH!!!! Haven't had any issues at all with the 'beast.' It has been very reliable but I guess it depends on how you drive it. We do the regular maintenance and so far so good. Congratulations on the new ATV!
Thanks for the reply back cub Your terrain is very similar to mine in B.C and I do similar riding to you aswell.I have the option of extending my warranty for another 4 years for 1900 bucks (it has 2 year warranty now) I m trying to keep the overall cost of the atv as low as I can. That said, would you personally go for the extra warranty or Do you feel it’s a waste of money? Thanks cubeez!!
I guess depends on how you ride....we have a buddy who does a lot of hard mud riding and he is changing expensive parts all the time...so far we haven't had any real issues, other than a leaky oil seal. Extra warranty is nice to have if you plan on keeping the ATV for a number of years, but $1900 isn't cheap. We personally didn't purchase it and so far so good (we don't have a dealer nearby though so usually end up working on our ATV's ourselves).
cubbeezx thanks for the feed back cub.Ride safe and have fun I pick up my new machine today and very excited.I decided to not go for the extra warranty as I can add that later if I like.I ride very similar to you cub.
Cool. Been watching all ya vidz since stumbling onto them a couple weeks ago...about halfway through them all..lol. Ive recently acquired a 02 yammy big bear 400 semi auto and have fallen in love with trail riding all over again..ran dirt bikes as a kid. I was considering a lift for the bigbear but what concerns me is 2 inch change in where center of wheel was has gotta be hard on the cv axle angles after?? From Cape Breton Nova Scotia..Eh lol
cub I have torn 2 rear cv boots on my 650 xmr the rear trailing arm on the Gen 2 has the perfect spot for tiny rocks to sit and tear away at the boot ,Have you had this problem ? something to keep an eye on hope to pass it on
+06outlandermaxXt We did get a stick through a boot when we first got the Can Am, but no issues since. Sorry to hear about yours, that can be a real pain. Thanks for sharing with us!
+cubbeezx no problem if you compare Gen 1 to Gen 2 rear trailing arm set up the Gen 1 used a cup on the inside protecting the outer cv boot my first outlander had 7k on it never one issue with the cv boots
How have the stock axels held up? I want to do this with mine but have not heard good things about the kit. I heard it pushes axels down and causes them to lock up and snap. What are your thoughts?? Thanks
have you had any issues with Cv Boots of axle wise... I had the lift on my 2011 outlander 800 and my boots kept ripping, thinking about doing the spacer lift or maybe getting HD front springs... been riding my 800r since new and the one thing that really bugs me is the front end sag when slowing down... let me know how your axles held up thanks :)
+cubbeezx Very Welcome Sir!! Id Love To Get Myself A Can~Am.. . Renny To Be Exact! And A Can~Am Maverick As Well, But Where I Live There Isnt Any Trails or Mud Holes Etc., I Would Always Have To Travel A Good Distance To Get To Some Decent Spots, Which I Honestly Wouldnt Mind, BUT, Its More About Other People In this Area Not Exactly Wanting To Go Have That Fun...Like There Is In Alot Of These Videos, Mainly Alot In Canada 🍁!! Its Like One Person In Canada 🍁 Can Post Something On Facebook And Then There would be 50 Heads At Whatever Awsome Spots There Is Up There lol, Its Just Awsome Dude!!! Down Here, Im In Maryland, Theres Hunting Trails and stuff, But They Dont Ever Cross Streams,Creeks,Big Mud Holes,Etc., Its Just Take The Trail To Your Stand and Back...Lol.. . It Really sucks Man,Seriously!!! But yea, Once Again...Keep up the Great work on your Videos. Keep them coming!
ViceVersa Musik Thanks very much for checking out the video. We live in an area of Canada that is mainly public land and not a lot of people so we are very fortunate to have so many great places to explore. Appreciate you stopping by!
I was going to do this with mine but heard it was hard on axels as it puts to much of an angle on them so I went with spacers to just stiffen it up and glad I did because the can ams are known to get soggy. what's you opion
+tony swaine Great question! We have never installed a lift kit before but here is what High Lifter says on the topic www.highlifter.com/t-FAQ.aspx#lift Thanks for watching!
I see you have zillas on the grizzly and put mega mayhems on this bike. What do you like better? I'm having a tough time deciding for my 850. Definitely doing 28".
Both are great tires, but the Zilla's are lighter and a "softer" tire. They have lasted really well too!!!! We find the MM's are better in the soft stuff with the bigger lugs however the Zilla's over wet logs perform better (they squish more). Depends on where you do most of your riding. Hope that helps!
We aren't professional installers by any stretch so always call them "how we did it videos" LOL Might not be the best way, or the right way, but it worked! HAHAHA!
I just noticed you are measuring with the tape case on the floor. Guessing the case is 2 inches, you now sit at a little over 13" of ground clearance, not bad. Sorry if you already answered this, why the highlifter kit over the 2" spring spacers?
+Matt S We never did measure our Mega Mayhems to see what size they were. We've heard Zilla's tend to run small but not sure about the MM's. We thought the Highlifter Kit might ride smoother compared to the spacers as we didn't want to stiffen the suspension.
If you didn't have to film. How long do you think this would have taken you? You made it look easy. Was it this easy? I ordered the same lift kit. And was just wounding
+Lancer Mccullin It came with really good instructions so didn't take too long...maybe a couple of hours. Hardest part was getting the "toe in" of the wheels correct after the install..that was a bit tricky. Overall though not a difficult mod! Kit was really well made.
Good stuff Cubbee !! gonna love that extra clearance for sure. Is there any reason why the new tie rods are curved? Do they have to be? I liked seeing that Can Am put a lot of grease fittings on the suspension parts, all bikes should be like that (i know the Grizzly has some) your CV boots looked to be on quite the angle but maybe that was b/c the bike was jacked up, Good stuff, always like the Maintenance videos and stuff.
Maritimer Thanks Maritimer. Needed that clearance, was used to the Grizzly! The rods don't have to be curved but they make them like that to reduce the angle and put less stress on the ball joints. The rods are thicker than stock too. Yes, it has a lot of grease fittings, 10 or more! I don't think they are any worse of an angle than the Grizzly when I compare...but definitely more than stock. Thanks for checking out the video!
Cubbee, did you add spacers on the 1K after you did the highlifter kit or just go with bigger tires? I just did the lift after watching this video a second time... It went great. Slow, but it came together. I bought bigger tires and 1.5" spacers and I am wondering if that will be too much.
+David Mebs Hey David, no we didn't put any spacers .. our suspension is set pretty soft on the Can Am and the lift has definitely improved our clearance compared to stock. Glad to hear you got your lift installed without any issues and hopefully the video helped. Maybe some of our viewers has installed the spacers? Thanks very much for watching!
If you have a little bit of extra length in the hose maybe you could try cutting off the very end and then warming it up a bit and then try putting it back on. If the hose is really short though you might not be able to do this but would work if the end was damaged. Good Luck!
Hey cubbeezx, Your quad looks so mean looking with the 2" high lifter lift kit great job building that beast. I hope to see you take it in some mud now lol.
Last time I checked their website I couldn't find the 2" lift either...only the 1.5...maybe send them an email to check. They were really good to deal with! Thanks
They were excellent to deal with Ray, probably best to call or email them to make sure it would fit but I am sure they make a kit for just about any ATV!
TheCamaro5 It rides a little stiffer now, but I'm not so sure it is the lift. We changed the tires at the same time so it might be because of the stiffer sidewalls of the Mega Mayhems. Softened the shock setting on the last ride and better now. Thanks for watching!
***** Yea I was thinking of doing this on my brute Force but I know a buddy that had it and took it off maybe different for can am. Yea I would definitely soften up the springs and maybe run a lb or 2 less tire pressure. Good luck love the videos.
Are there any warranty restrictions now on your CanAm from BRP because of the lift kit installation ? I'm thinking about the 'new' angle that the "U-Joints" have to turn in due to the lift kit. I do know that with every lift that is done to a vehicle the 'joints' have even more of an operating angle on them.
***** Only 6 months ??? How come ? Nearly all CanAm's that I know of, and I'm at the dealer nearly twice a week ( my brother works for a CanAm dealer ) and mine is an '09 model which had a 3 year warranty,.and all I've seen to date gave nothing less than 1 year and most up to 3 years. Why does you 1000 only have a 6 month warranty ? I'm surprised ! Actually I thought your's was a fairly new one, this is why I was asking about the possible warranty issue, because of the mods. you are doing to it.
+cubbeezx double check that brother. I got 2 yrs on my 15 outty max xt 1000. Just double checked my paperwork, I didn't pay for an additional warranty either.
Reg Sparkes I know at times they offer extended warranty as incentives for certain year models..maybe it is up to the dealer? Their website shows 6 months with option to purchase extended.
cubbeezx perfect I just bought a outlander 1000 pick it up tomorrow , I'm in the Peterborough area , tons of trails and mud here but I'd love to come and ride some of these places you go
+UnitCrane514 You know when we look at the angle now compared to the angle on the stock Grizzly, they are very similar but time will tell! Here's what High Lifter has to say on the topic www.highlifter.com/t-FAQ.aspx#lift
+REBEL RIDERS The winch was on but no rope...however the winch broke a couple of weekends ago, but is on its way back after warranty work! Couldn't imagine riding without a winch LOL
+arnaslt1 After turning your head constantly when trail riding to see if the guy behind you is coming the mirror is a great accessory...sure saves the neck!
+MrGundogtrainer Seems to drive good the way we have it set up now... the way the tie rods are designed I found that if I turned them too much then it was toed in way too much...so far so good!
+SNOWandSWAMP We found that compared to the Grizzly the clearance without the lift was too great and we would often get hung up on logs/stumps. It became part of our build for the Can Am. You wouldn't have to put a lift on it, but for our kind of riding it helps. Thanks for watching.

+sixtyfiveford Thanks for checking out the video. Yes product is really well made and designed!
After some miles now, how are the axle holding up? I still think that's a great set up and I might do something very similar. Thanks
Great! No issues at all with them.
NICE !!! I know I really like the lift on my Can-Am, so I'm sure you'll enjoy it on your Cubbee !! LET'S RIDE !! WOO HOO !!

I've heard the same. It sucks that to do 2" you have to spend another grand.
It has been almost 2 years now and no issues at all with the 2" lift - really happy with it!

+Damian Buccheri Thanks, happy with it!
As someone remarked earlier, will this lift have an effect on the lifespan of the CV joints due to the increased angle of the driveshaft?
+tony swaine Great question! We have never installed a lift kit before but here is what High Lifter says on the topic www.highlifter.com/t-FAQ.aspx#lift Thanks for watching!

Although this is not a how vid but more of a how we did it vid, really well done. Thx 4 sharing

Look like a monster and also love to ride but I need to get a new one and I like your videos.
Aidan bish Thanks very much!
Looks great ! Let us know how it rides with the lift kit ?
john colt Thanks John. Will do once we get out on it a bit more.
You think one would help on my 05 Kodiak ?
john colt We actually bought a lift kit for our Kodiak 450 late last year, but never installed it. They make them for all makes/models.
Always super clean work, great video!
+kylebike128 Thanks very much for watching!
Hey man can you give me a tip on how to put the hose back on the diff? I used a heat gun to get it off now I can't put it back on 😂😂 and tips?
If you have a little bit of extra length in the hose maybe you could try cutting off the very end and then warming it up a bit and then try putting it back on. If the hose is really short though you might not be able to do this but would work if the end was damaged. Good Luck!
cubbeezx okay awesome thank you!
The beast look mean now! Thanks for sharing.
+yveskc1 LOL Yes, the Beast is a mean unit!
How difficult was the installation? Great vids
+Ross McDougle It wasn't too difficult...came with good instructions to follow step by step Thanks for watching!
thanks for the reply keep up the great vids
Amazing video cub i live the intro
+Oliver Long THanks very much Oliver
Lookin good Cubbeezx! Quit the beast.
CanadianWookie Thanks very much!
That thing is a beast!
Stephen Jacobes LOL Do you mean Cubbee or the Can AM HAHAHAHA! THanks for watching.
+cubbeezx lol, both...
Hey cubbeezx, Your quad looks so mean looking with the 2" high lifter lift kit great job building that beast. I hope to see you take it in some mud now lol.
809 FILMS Thanks very much, appreciate it! Oh we do find mud LOL
***** Can't wait to see..
So are you going to create a new intro with the Can-Am wheelieing?
Parker Jessen We do need to do some new "designing" ...t-shirts/intro etc.
How much do your tires stick out with the lift on?
Can’t find this lift anywhere! Do you know the part number of it? Thanks
Last time I checked their website I couldn't find the 2" lift either...only the 1.5...maybe send them an email to check. They were really good to deal with! Thanks
Call them, there great!
any axel problems since u installed the lift
No. None at all!
@@cubbeezx the spacer for Axel in a kit or you Buy?
Nice lift Cubbee!
Matt_TheGamerIRL Thanks very much!
Will that work on 2018 outlander xt
They were excellent to deal with Ray, probably best to call or email them to make sure it would fit but I am sure they make a kit for just about any ATV!
I put them on already it ride good
Will this work with the fox shocks
Will this fit the xmr model
I know they make kits for all different makes/models...they are great to deal with, maybe drop them a quick email...
Hey man i cant seem to find any 2" highlifter they only have 1 1/2" or the big lift 6"
Oh really? Huh...maybe they only make that one for some models? Have you tried emailing them? They were great to deal with!
that wasn't to bad.that looks nice.
***** Thanks!
How's your 2 inch highlifter doing since installation??
Doing good, no issues at all..still working good!
Ok that's good, I might be getting that kind of lift for my 2016 Yamaha kodiak 700, thanks for sharing
please tell me you did grease the machine up after you did this, right?
+John Linkletter (Johnscotlink) Yes, and often
+cubbeezx good hah
Great video.
I love your videos please make more
Bryson Ellis Glad to hear, and we sure will!
Do you hafta use the tie rods?
They came with the kit, so we used them....the shape of them helps to relieve the angle of the tie rods with the lift kit installed
That intro makes me go cross eyed man!
+UnitCrane514 Thanks for watching!
those cv axle joint/boots look like there in a bind now but great job on the video
skulledmonte84 Thanks for checking out the video!
+cubbeezx yea. are those axles going to be ok with that new lift?
***** They actually look about the same angle now as the Grizzly's
How does it ride with the lift. Is it the same or stiffer.
TheCamaro5 It rides a little stiffer now, but I'm not so sure it is the lift. We changed the tires at the same time so it might be because of the stiffer sidewalls of the Mega Mayhems. Softened the shock setting on the last ride and better now. Thanks for watching!
*****
Yea I was thinking of doing this on my brute Force but I know a buddy that had it and took it off maybe different for can am. Yea I would definitely soften up the springs and maybe run a lb or 2 less tire pressure. Good luck love the videos.
Does anyone know why the axle spacer only goes on 1 side?
Dude you sound just like Marlon Brando! Lmao
Looks Great!
MudManGaming Thanks very much!
+cubbeezx what do you mean you are "off warranty"??
Matt Seth Like the Grizzly, warranty was only for 6 months and that time has now passed.
I miss the build videos I think you should get a rad relocater kit
+Glow Nation As it is the middle of winter here our outdoor shop is a little chilly LOL Not sure what we will do to the Beast this year!
Glow Nation I hate that crap. its so ugly and not worth it unless u are snorkeled and ride in a swamp every day.
How's the lift kit working out so far for ya thought about one my self
Working great, no issues at all! Along with the bigger tires the 2" lift gave the Can Am some pretty good clearance.
cubbeezx awesome good to hear I want to add more clearance to mine for the trails
What's your total ground clearance now
@@cubbeezx what tire size are you running
Long awaited😍🙏🏼
Chase Howerton We are behind....doing our best!
The best thing, I think, is that it only took you a little over 11 minutes to install it.
sromrell LOL, the power of editing, thanks for watching!
Hahahaha😁
how does it handle now? ?
+MrBAchompBAchomp Handles good...nice to have more clearance for sure!
Spacer behind the Axle is so the axle's don't pull out of the rear diff, Due to the increased angle.
Thanks for sharing!
Just wondering how this kit is making out now??
Great, never had any issues with it at all!
cubbeezx perfect I just bought a outlander 1000 pick it up tomorrow , I'm in the Peterborough area , tons of trails and mud here but I'd love to come and ride some of these places you go
Congratulations on your new ride...you're going to love it!
good video
+Mark Paez Jr Thanks Mark
Have you broke any axles?
No we never have....
Your CV joints are at a really steep angle from the factory and you just increased it. That's gonna fry all 4 of those half shafts in no time!
+UnitCrane514 You know when we look at the angle now compared to the angle on the stock Grizzly, they are very similar but time will tell! Here's what High Lifter has to say on the topic www.highlifter.com/t-FAQ.aspx#lift
Where is your winch fairlead???
We had it off as we were waiting for the synthetic winch line to arrive...
You measured height before but not after lift installation...
It's a 2" lift.....
All this work just to get as high as a Yamaha Grizzly ? J/K , Looks good ! Now you can get over what CK could.
+THE POHLHAMMER I know! LOL Thanks for checking out the video.
Now she's a slightly taller canned ham : ) L.O.L.
brad b Yes, not much but enough! Definitely helps in the ruts and over trees/rocks etc.
I got 10 inch lift on my atv
QuantomX Thanks for watching!
Winch snorkels ?
+REBEL RIDERS We have upgraded the winch rope to synthetic and dont' think we will install snorkels at this time.
Good I meant on the outty it don't have a winch
+REBEL RIDERS The winch was on but no rope...however the winch broke a couple of weekends ago, but is on its way back after warranty work! Couldn't imagine riding without a winch LOL
haha me either always gotta have somine with one or have one your self
YYEEEE!!
TheOutty500 Thanks!
Awsome
Thanks!
looking good but that mirror needs to go, just looks better without it. But over all looking good :)
+arnaslt1 After turning your head constantly when trail riding to see if the guy behind you is coming the mirror is a great accessory...sure saves the neck!
I suppose it's is a good Accessory
What about the LED bar?? *****
Jacob Cress Love it! Now all installed and will have its own video in the trail build series. Stay tuned.
Will do *****
BTW just followed u on Instagram
+REBEL RIDERS Thanks very much!
No prob
Зачем вы поставили шайбу на шруз?
cool
+finpainter1 Thanks for checking out the video!
Cubbee don't you want to be toe in. I was understanding they drive better toe in
+MrGundogtrainer Seems to drive good the way we have it set up now... the way the tie rods are designed I found that if I turned them too much then it was toed in way too much...so far so good!
As long as it goes keep up the good work
Стоит ставить лифт кит?
+SNOWandSWAMP We found that compared to the Grizzly the clearance without the lift was too great and we would often get hung up on logs/stumps. It became part of our build for the Can Am. You wouldn't have to put a lift on it, but for our kind of riding it helps. Thanks for watching.
***** тут есть крепление или нет?

+SNOWandSWAMP This is the same product made by KFI...not sure if it would come with a mount or not..best to email the seller.
Any problem
None at all!
stock ground clearance rly low
+matek103 Used to the Grizzly so the lift and bigger tires has helped on the clearance!
why not get ck can am outlander 1000xp too .. she know how to drive that big beast ,lol
+bern trailboss For sure!
Lol polaris come factory with 12" of clearance
+David Mast Nice!
Ok
