My old neighborhood! I lived on 1st St. beachside. We would catch 15-18 lb. bluefish right from the beach on big spoons and plugs in the fall when the schools migrated through. Follow the birds...
it looks like you were riught near my friend's house on the beach. I was there the week before you and caught the same little pompano. I will take my net down when I go in November and am also going to drone fish.
Scouring RUclips. I'm taking my wife and kids AND my best friend and his family camping on south core for a week next month. Want to make sure we get into plenty of fish. Any tips on bait. Rigs, or anything else?
You need to really focus on how to read the surf. I feel as if that is the most important factor. I use 1/0 hooks shrimp and fishgum. Catch a whiting or mullet and use it as cut bait on 7/0 hooks with 60lb mono fish finder rigs . That way you can catch a nice variety. Dont be afraid to ask local tackle shops for advise as well
@@salteastsimon I've never gone to the obx, but have fished up and down the coast south of cape lookout. Since cape lookout is so isolated I need to make sure I have everything I need before going out. Thanks for the reply.
It's a walmart pier and surf cart. Do yourself a favor and buy the fishin mate cart. It's more expensive but works 300% better in the sand and it won't rust like that cart did
