Why are you underestimating Genya? He could absorb some of Kokushibo's Power and Hold him in place. No one hashira can hold him in one place for a long time. Gyomei, the strongest hashira, with the Red Weapon, was unable to cut off Kokushibo's head alone. Also Kokushibo(base) speedblitzed Muichiro (Marked) So He can Speedblitz Rengoku , Shinobu , Tengen, Mitsuri.
