- Chris Pine reveals what it would take to make ‘Princess Diaries 3’ in this new interview with ‘Extra’s’ Katie Krause. The actor also talks about his new romantic spy thriller ‘All the Old Knives’ at the premiere of the flick on Wednesday night. He opens up about his chemistry with co-star Thandiwe Newton and how he trained. Plus, he talks about what he would like to see happen with his Captain Kirk character in the next ‘Star Trek’ film.

I would love for Princess Diaries 3 to revolve around Mia expanding her family and navigating the world as a Queen but also a mother, friend, wife, granddaughter etc...

My favorite Chris of all! Chris Pine is so versatile, down to earth, grounded and with authentic personality on and off screen. Chris is comfy showing his personality in diff. lights just like regular people-- he can be serious or fun or adventurous or clean or scruffy or nerdy or engage in social issues or artistic side on and off screen. He's not too concerned with his on screen image to please all people. That's what I love about Chris, he's truthful. He grows on

I think it would be refreshing to see something where he takes the lead. Show him as the husband who has been taking care of the kids while Mia ran the country, but then show Mia getting sick and he has to step up and run things. And he goes to the Queen for help on how to not only save the country and his family but also his marriage!

Even if it does end up happening I think we should be ready to expect it to be completely different. Mia's journey is complete, she's not a princess anymore, she's a queen now. Sure there are things to look in the future but I think keeping in mind the target audience and the title of the series, if Princess Diaries 3 does happen it's probably going to be about a new character. My bet is Mia and Nicholas's daughter so the old cast can hang around as supporting characters who ocassionally give advice and we can catch up on Nicholas and mia. Who knows maybe the daughter's journey might end up being the exact opposite, she grows up knowing her whole life that she has to be a princess and then she falls in love with a normal guy (who might be Michael's son for fanservice to the book readers) and ends up living a normal life. Or maybe she'll remain a princess but she's definitely marrying a poor guy. That's totally happening, it's in the rule book.
Or they could make it an LGBTQ story and she'd date a girl instead. Maybe get the best of both worlds and have it be a poor girl.
I hope Chris pine comes back for princess diaries 3. Can't wait to see the afterlife of queen Mia Thermopolis, lilly moscovich, and everyone else in this movie, soon. I am so excited!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! 😁😁😁
The audience doesn't have to be for the kids though. All of us who loved it growing up are in our 20s and 30s now. I would go see it opening day in theaters as a 27yo woman lol

@@allyburnett3315 Yeah but kids today also have watched the princess diaries. By directing them towards the older audience only, they'll be narrowing their demographic, they have to make a children's movie since the first two were children's movie, might as well try to direct the third ones toward the majority of audience that is likely to watch them. There are tons of adults who will watch it for nostalgia but that isn't a majority against the children who'll watch it.
But even if we ignore all that, mia isn't a princess anymore she's a queen, she's technically not qualified to be the titular character. But still, we could have ignored that if the third movie had came out near the second movie only. Then it could be about Mia's trials and tribulations as a newly made queen. But that's not possible now since Anne Hathaway is almost 40. The only thing they could make a movie about is a midlife crisis which is unlikely in a children's movie or a parents dealing with kids (who are bound to be teenagers since mia is old enough for that). And if that kind of movie is being made the forefront character will depend on the target audience. That's why I bet it would be Mia's daughter/son. It doesn't have to be though, there are plenty of children's movies with the parent as the main character, it's just not as often as the other therefore I said, brace yourself, this might not meet your expectations.

Clumsy, trouble follow her, maybe there is ANOTHER family wanting the throne. Maybe she couldn't have kids so she wants to adopt from that little orphanage in town from the second movie. And see her try to be a mom lol
