WOW!!! Well, I know that Jessie Buckley is an incredible and nuanced actor. But I had absolutely no idea that she is a electrifying singer as well. What a magical performance. I wish I had been there. I can only imagine. I'm a huge Dylan fan, and Jessie's delivery of Just Like A Woman brought tears to me eyes. Beautiful and extraordinary. And Bernard Butler and the other musicians all blend perfectly. Evenings like this are what the power of music is all about!
Lucky to see Jessie three times in 2022. Award winning as Sally Bowles in Cabaret. Then twice with Bernard. I was at this one - their last gig apart from one song on Mercury Music Awards Show. It was absolutely brilliant. Jessie was on fire. She not only has one of THE great voices but her timing is amazing. Her musicality. Her range. The power. The emotion. Jazz. The Blues - she has it all. I am knocking on a bit and have seen some great favourites over the years. But Jessie is right up there on top of the pile. Buy the album. It was magical. I am so glad I bothered to video it because we may never see them together again. She was absolutely at the top of her game that night. An astounding performance, so much so that Bernard at times was almost shaking his head with disbelief. I'm 73, seen all the great singers, and she is right up there with the best. In fact she might very well be the best. It's the best gig I've seen this century.
I didn't think that Jessie Buckley could impress me any more than she already has, but this performance is extraordinary even by her already astounding standard. My god. My god. My god. And to think this is her part time toss-off job. Thank you for capturing and sharing this.
