LOOSE BOLT! Almost cost me a Podium! Thunderhill East Time Attack with LightSpeed

- In this video, I take my BMW M4 F82 to Thunderhill East for the Lightspeed Time Attack and pull off a 1st place win with a best lap time of 1:57.58! Running on Bridgestone RE-71RS 295/35R18 squared tires, I pushed the car hard, but high track temperatures and heat soak started to cause overheating after just two laps. Despite the challenges, I know there’s still more performance to unlock-I could’ve hit a 1:56 if the car hadn’t been heat-soaked.
I’m also considering a new tune to help manage temps and extract even more power next time. The last time I raced here was in November 2021, when it was much cooler, so this heat definitely added an extra layer of difficulty.

Great vid, I like the camera angles.🔥🔥🔥 The Bimmerworld fuel starve kit is legit, I would get fuel cut at less than 1/2 tank, now I can run down to 1/6th tank or maybe further.

Get a strong blower fan when you need to fix something, lay the fan on top and after several minutes it can be cool enough to get your hands in there. Helps get you back on track quicker.

Have you thought of trying out some front mount intakes? Possibly could help with IATs
JQWerks quick release would make the interior!!!!!
Change out the washer to something thicker and maybe upgrade the bolt. This happen to me with my FTP charge pipe, once I swapped out the bolt and washer it never happened again. The washer that comes with the charge pipe tends to flex when torqued down.
curious as to why you run a square set up?
You need to use spring T bolt hose clamps , t bolt hose clamps wont blowoff

Did you ever get data on the oem intercooler vs CSF? Im seeing some people claim it didn’t make a difference or even performed worse
how does the 295 squre re71rs compare to the 315 crs?
Never had 315 CRS just 285/30CRS and only used them at Laguna Seca. But the 295/35R18 is easily just at wide as a 315 AR1. Overall I really like the RE71RS it seems to be lasting longer so that’s huge and also it feels like it has more forward grip to lay down the power earlier. Also it feels great for lateral grip. I went two seconds faster on then the last track day. This day was a bit hard to measure as the track temps and ambient temps were way up there. Overall I highly recommend giving the RE71RS a try.
