I never new you could ride the train I thought you had to drive the train
You can even skip the ride to the next station. This can be used for quick travel across the map.

for me from market station it automatically teleports to union station I cant get to other stations

That sobell stop is a useless station. There should've been stops in whetstone and bone county.

It was a station in the beta, Rockstar just didn't fix it.
I'd say the train need fuel so it can run back to Los Santos. And the train needs to stop at small towns also not just at cities.
Unity station is similar to union station in LA
