What a wonderful film. We old time musicians are still playing Soldier's Joy and many other old tunes that get you happy!! The music festivals have kept this tradition alive and we gather from all over the world at various festivals. Clifftop Va is a fun one. There are many more. So interesting about the medicine and how & what they treated illnesses with. I think it was a much better time. I was raised around music & my grandmother's ways, on both sides, are my ways still.

My mother lived through the Depression and like one of the women here seemed to imply, she always said there was stuff available for sale, but the problem was nobody had any money.

There are a few around, but not as many as you would see in south Georgia and Florida. Several years ago, there was a news report on TV about alligators. The area had received a lot of rain and the gators were coming out of the swamps and walking into people's backyards in the Bloomfield area.

Now we have a "Mayors Climate Covenant" Smartgrowth America city. Adoption of UN Sustainable Development. It means no one has a way to participate at all in any gov. Decisions.its very sad.

I am from Warner Robins and I can sincerely say that Macon has turned to crap now. Drugs, gang activity, garbage everywhere, dilapidating homes, and political greed. Simply looks like a welfare town in more modern areas and back streets downtown. Fearful citizens moved their businesses and nice homes to out-lying areas. It is a damn shame. The people they elect (mayor has stolen from the city in the past.) only care about lining their own pockets. There is still hope as with all things... Maybe the lower classes will wake up and begin striving for more than a walk to the cheese line. Maybe some new industry would do the trick, but that would mean the many so used to receiving government benefits their whole life would have to work though...Only time will tell...(Don't tell us what you going to do, show us what you have already done..) As with all all of us on this earth, we have to learn to make better choices for the prosperity of "all concerned" to insure a better future. I love Georgia. It is one of the most beautiful places in this world. Let us not forget, there are still many great citizens here that are still doing the work against all odds, and with little support. God help us all.
