Okay, these stories are getting creepy. Why would Matt or even Jenny think in any way it would be okay to comment on Jo's body in such a way? For a brother to say that about his sister is sick, and the mom not correcting it is so messed up.
I agree. They way they talked about her is really disgusting, like she was an object to toss around 🤢😡

I think removing the scapegoat allowed the mother to realise her favourite son was useless.
That's how it always goes. When the abused or neglected child leaves, the golden child either turns against the parents or the parents realise the golden child is useless.

I hope that Jo gets the help she needs. It seems to me that she was a victim of her eldest brother. I don't have brothers, but I have friends who do and they never commented on their sister's/sisters' bodies. They would say that a dress or an outfit looked pretty on them whenever my friends asked for their opinions on their outfits, they would even compliment them on their makeup- but nothing like 'Wow, don't you have a nice figure today" or "Aren't you my pretty little girl".
I am only about 25 mins into the story. Do you know if it's confirmed if something bad happened to Jo at the hands of her eldest brother?

I think this story is based on a reddit post a while back. A man who loved his beautiful wife, had awful parents that favored her sister. What makes it so bad is hubby gushed on how hos wife was a scientist, but her parents treat her horrible.

So true. one good thing that these stories are all complete fiction and could never happen in reality my reality check here: “ what would my ex-husband have done?” and then suddenly everything just brings back memories. In this case: is two sons. The gifted one, who is studying law, and then the last cause, his favourite.

College in the uk is different than in US, college is higher education that gains the diplomas needed to get into university, so just going to college in the uk wont get her a degree only a diploma or A level equivalent

And that would be awesome if Ross and Jo did change their surnames to Lauren's family surname.
It happened in one of the other stories like this, the husband divorced his wife because of family issues, then ended up taking his wife's surname when they got remarried to each other.

I don't have brothers but I have friends who do. Whenever my friends asked them for an opinion on the outfit they were wearing or to ask about how their makeup looks, their brothers always complimented them- but they never made sexual based comments about their sister's/sisters' bodies. It's okay for a sibling to say that their other sibling looks glamorous in the outfit they are rocking... or they look stunning, but to make these crude and sexual comments about their sibling's body is weird.
Not to mention borderline incestuous.

Jo was getting on the plane with Lauren. That was plainly stated by Jo. But at the end, Lauren states that Jo stayed with a friend and came to the UK later. Get your facts straight. Lauren, Jo and Ross all got on the plane together.

College or University? Here in the UK, one would go to university to work for their degree; colleges offer the qualifications that fall between school and uni or trade qualifications
Yh I get confused when they say college,over here it's just a stepping stone to uni
It also holds true for European countries across The English Channel to refer to college as middle school and university as post-school education.

Hang on... am I the only one who has realised that we haven't heard the dad speak like at all? I am almost 25 mins into the video and we've heard Ross who is one of our main characters, we've heard from Matt and his mother who are the antagonists of the story, we've heard Lauren who is the main character, and we've even heard from Jo who is the sister. Does the dad not say anything at all?
I am getting the vibe that a lot of these conversations are face to face and that they actually aren't over text messages. Is he unable to speak, like say he's incapacitated somehow due to disability or illness?

She would first have to go to college to obtain the qualifications to get into university to study law, we dont really have law schools, its a law degree studied at university, she may also have to obtain a master's degree then study for the bar, it takes years to become a lawyer. Our education system us very different, we first have primary school then secondary school, then college followed by university, then what ever you want specialise in like medical school or a masters or a Phd, just studying a degree in uk doesnt qualify you for the job

The main thing that I can't stand with these stories is how they always put down People who work in Factorys, Farm, Grocery Stores or Restaurants. When I got out of the Navy I worked in a Meatpacking Plant, Hydraulic Pump Manufacturing Plant and Utility Pole/Communication Pole/Light Pole Manufacturing Plant. I learned on the job and signed Postings to Move Up. I Own a House, Supported a Family and now am now Retired.
