Thank you! The breed is amazing! He is out of K-Ley’s Dobermans, his sire is a Lyndobe and his dam is a Windsong. My best advice would be to start your search on DPCA.org, under breeder referral. The breed has lots of health issues, so going for a breeder who is performing ALL the health testing, breeds for preservation and longevity AND works and titles their dogs is what you want. You may have to wait because good breeders don’t always have litters on the ground. Good luck in your search!!
Dobermans are super smart but a HANDFUL until their brains mature (age 2 1/2+). The biggest issue is that if you ever found yourself in need of emergency services, having a Doberman next to you may prevent EMTs or others from getting close enough to help you. Part of it is the reputation of the breed BUT part of it is due to the extreme bonding of a Doberman to its owner. Remember, they are the only breed designed to guard humans. All other breeds were developed to guard livestock or property. I would advise against a Doberman service dog for that reason. Good luck!!!
