Dikang Infrared Touchless Thermometer Tips and Instructions: It took me a bit of time to figure this out, especially changing from celcius to fahrenheit, so I thought I’d make a video for you to help save you time and frustration. A couple of extra tips:
1. It takes 2 AAA batteries and they go in opposite directions.
(So put one in with the plus side going down and the other with the plus side going up...if it doesn't work that way, switch them around in the opposite directions).
2. There are 2 main settings: "Surface" and "Body"...if you are measuring the temperature of a person's body, make sure the setting says "Body". For everything else use "Surface"

I understand Celsius, but the people around me do not. I was going to write my boss and just say "listen, I'm even dumber that I thought. Show me how to do it." And then I found your video. Thank you this video helped a lot! Im not allowed into work until they see me take my temperature. We are very safe, as more places should be but some people are just hard headed i guess.

Thanks so much for explaining how to change it from C to F. I got one that looks very similar but is a different brand. The instructions were not clear at all and I needed a magnifying glass to see it. LOL. I was able to work it out from your explanation.

My model was different, the on/off sound was F3 and Celsius/Fahrenheit was F4 but your instructions were very helpful. Thank you! I was so frustrated with this thing until I watched your video. I had already watched several others but they weren’t helpful. 💕

Thank you so much for this video! When trying to figure out how to change from C* to F* I ended up changing the numbers first and then I couldn't figure out F1 temp OR F2 temp and now I think that my thermometer is correct thanks to this video, cause apparently no one uses F* instead of C*

Why does mine say unit on F1? I can't get it to get to the variation of where you said you wanted to leave it. Why do you want to leave it there? If I figure out how to change it from unit, do I need to set it to a certain way?

Mine was working but now it says low all the time with a red background. We have 2 at school that are saying the same thing .. they all have new batteries.. what would fix this?
You told me everything but what I needed to know. What step-by-step procedure do I use to actually take a temperature. Do I press the trigger, then press again, or press once, or press 42 times and still not get it?
I'm so sorry. I'm going to make another video to make it clear. You point the thermometer at the forehead...about a half inch from your head, or the person's head, and then pull the trigger once....then you'll get the reading in about 1 second. :)

Thank you Erin. My problem is it doesn't stay green, it keeps going orange and says Lo and then doesn't take one's temperature. Is this a faulty unit or have I pressed a wrong stetting by mistake? I'ts in Centigrade which I want.
Hey Penny, I'm not sure. Maybe you're in surface mode instead of Body mode? I made a written note addition to my instructions since I didn't talk about that in the video. Sorry about that.

You can take multiple temperatures with infrared thermometers without having to turn them on and off each time.

Hey did you check it to a conventional temperature ? Then add the difference (if there is one between the IF Thermometer and the conventional?

So, is it the same as a oral thermometer where 98.6 F is "normal" and above 100 degrees F would be a concern? Or is the norm less because no contact?
I have been using normal temperature guidelines with it. I think 100.3 and more is a concern according to the guidelines I've seen.

Hi Took me forever to put in batteries correctly. You should show that in video. Can't get Fahrenheit only centigrade. Suggestions?
Yes, sorry, if I make another video about it I will show the correct way to put the batteries in. And for the F vs. C, I show it in the video...about 3/4 of the way through the video. :) F3
My screen is stuck on 98.0. When I press the set button, the Log numbers go up from 1-30 and back to 1. HELP

Also, it's possible that the thermometers look the same on the outside but are not actually the same. If you can't figure it out from this video, you may want to return it and get the same one as mine so that you can program it correctly. Fingers crossed it works quickly and easily for you!!! :).

This video help me get it from F to C. I live in the Caribbean, Virgin Islands so we more used C in our necker of the woods; however being dyslexic I just look for the 🙂 or ☹️ face
I am using this thermo scan .
I scan foreheads of children & parents daily & the temperature generally fall in the range of 95.1 to 96.8? The other thermo scan also gives similar temperature range. Do u know how to make sure the two devices I have are accurate?
The only way to make sure your thermometer is accurate is to use a traditional axillary thermometer (armpit thermometer) or tympanic thermometer which goes in the ear if you don't have either of those you can ask someone who does have one to check it for you or you can possibly check with your local EMS station or fire department to see if they are able to assist you with checking it because i assume you are new to electronic temperature reading devices.

Any triple A should be just fine. I didn't use duracell...or did I...it doesn't matter. :)

How do you get it to change colour??
My display shows a lock on it, over the temp and to the left of the speaker icon, and I can’t remove it. It won’t read in either body or surface
The Lock logo has no effect on your measurement, please ignore it. The default mode of the normal frontal temperature gun is body temperature, and you can measure it without any operation after you turn it on. After the measurement is completed, regardless of him, it will automatically shut down after 5 seconds.

Mine keeps showing a E-3 error when I first push the trigger. No high or low? I did get it changed to farenheit. Mine also shows a setting surface or body?? Model ET002B

I am frustrated with this thermometer. It worked for one day. When I put the batteries into the battery compartment, there is now a sound that is continual. It's like a warning beep, it will go until I take the batteries out. I was able to put new batteries in, it still does it. There was a day I tried it again and it worked, then the next time I pushed the trigger button, the beep was back. I cannot return it as I lost all information on where I purchased it. Am I doing something wrong?
Oh Joan, I'm so sorry. I have no idea what's going on with your thermometer. Fingers crossed you can find the info to return it to that company. If you need a new one, I have a link in the details above. This one is very reliable.

Hmmmmmm, that's strange. Is it possible that you are pressing the button again accidentally? If not, maybe you have a faulty thermometer and need to get it replaced?
Thanks for the video Erin. I have all the parameters set but when I go to measure the temp it is giving E-2 and not a temp. Have turned off, even taken out batteries for extended time and not it won't reset. Help
Uh oh, I'm not sure what to do in that scenario. You may need to get a replacement. So sorry that I can't help. Are you checking someone's forehead? Or are you checking the temperature of an object? How hot is it? If it's an object, is it extremely hot?
@@ErinHealer can't it to check anything. Can adjust all the parameters but when we go to use it on body it shows that error message. It is gone now-basically disposable. Thanks for your efforts to help every one.

I'm not sure. Maybe take the batteries out for 5 minutes and then put them back in? Let me know if that works. :)
Hi Erin, I am having problems as well. Just got this chinese product today with chinese instructions that are what I expected. Hard to decipher. I set it to body and Fahrenheit. With holding the set button I got f1 and then to f2 and then f3 but when I got to f3 it was displaying Fahrenheit again so I let it time out and pulled the trigger and the LO and Fahrenheit were still showing. I can’t get f3 to read Fahrenheit. I am stuck on calibration as well. This thermometer has no name anywhere on it, all I can find is UX-A-01 on it. This looks identical to the one you are using.
Hey Ken, did you buy the Dikang from my link? If not, you may have a different model You might want to return it so that you can follow the directions more easily. But...wait...if you accidentally touch the SET button lightly, it's going to switch from body to surface. When you are on F3 - make sure you hit the up or down button to switch from C to F or vice versa. I hope that helps. :)

Yes Loma. Did you buy it from my link? Can you return it and get a new one. The screen should light up clearly.
@@ErinHealer my mum brought them online. It shows the temp clearly but does not light up a different colour. I'm guessing if it's dark you won't be able to see the reading.
When I press the trigger it always shows Low message and doesn't read the temperature
Make sure it is within two inches of the body or an object such as a hot liquid before you squeeze the scan trigger , also you should do a test scan by squeezing the trigger when the thermometer is off it will run through a very quick self check of it's functions to make sure it's operating right.

Google can help you with that. I generally feel like between 97 and 100.4 are good. Anything above or below that I'd be concerned about. I'm not a doctor so if I were you I'd look for other sources for that info. :)
Mine doesn't show any temputure reading always just shows Hi, can't get it to change. Anyone have any ideas
Hmmmmmm, does your thermometer say "surface" or "body"....make sure that's on the right setting. It depends on what you are trying to take the temperature of. I hope that helps! :)

Mine shows 97.3 as normal when I took the whole family. Is that normal? How do u know that it's set at 98.6
You can calibrate it at F1....by adding 1.3 to the reading by pushing the up arrow until you hit 1.3

Why's it so difficult to find any info regarding forehead temperature averages? Also, is infrared more popular "to use" since it measures "internally?" Or can you correlate the lower surface skin temp with internal temp to arrive at an "accurate" forehead temp that is acceptable for study? So interesting that when you search this in the internet either you find ZIP, or simply vague marketing material, or totally unrelated posts to ACTUAL forehead temperature.
Good questions...and I do not have the answers. If you find out, let me know. :)
Can you reset to factor settings?
I'm fairly confident that if you take the batteries out and leave them out for about 5 minutes the settings will "reset" to factory settings. :)

Why are these videos for this thermometer complicated I can't even see the screen when u pressing c it still said f. As far as I know, you do not need to calibrate this thermometer. If there is a way to do it, i am unaware. I apologize.

What is plus minus??
What’s the body and surface mean?
Body is for a human body (or animal, I suppose). Surface is for an inanimate object.
They are two measurement modes. The measurement range of body temperature mode is around 32-42 degrees Celsius, and the measurement range of object temperature is 0-100 degrees Celsius. But the accuracy is smaller. The difference is about 0.5 degrees Celsius
