I think they are close to creating their own sub-genre of metal. Progressive djent? Extreme Progressive metal? I don't know how to call it but I can recognize their music after hearing the first few seconds of every new track.Great band.
I love this new song by Jinjer, always love Jinjer! I love the portrayals in the video of Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, Marie Curie and (I think) Georgia O'Keefe, although since we know Tatiana loves Frida Kahlo (as do I) because of that tattoo on her arm, I will always think of that character in this video as Georgia O'Keefe on the outside and Frida Kahlo on the inside. Great reaction TwoToeTags! Thank you for bringing more of the fantastic music of Jinjer to more people! ❤️ 🖤 🤘
To me it looks more like Daenerys or Rhaenyra from A song of fire and ice, becouse she is sitting on what it looks like a throne made of blades. I could be wrong tho
@Jericho-mb Yep, you're wrong here. A) Daenerys has incredibly famously blonde hair. B) The other portrayals are of real women who performed in historically male professions/positions. This fits the entire point of the song.
I do question whether it's Georgia O'Keefe. I would leaj more towards Frida Kahlo because of her struggles getting recognition next to a famous painter husband. The gender challenge she faced was more well-known anyway.
I love that Jinjer is making new music. This has everything I love about Jinjer, but the various sections don't quite fit together as well as some of their best bangers. Jinjer announced in late June that they are done recording their new album. It's in post-production/mastering right now. This song could potentially be one of the new songs on the new album. I can hardly wait to see them live again in September. Love the Loathe shirt. Just got done watching the From Nothing series in Audiotree that featured Loathe. Another great band. Cheers.
I've had this song on repeat since it came out. It's everything I love about the band stepped up another notch. They've been talking about the new album for a while now in interviews and on their social media accounts. They finished recording it within the last couple months and have mentioned playing new stuff on their upcoming tours. I was hoping for an announcement and release date, but maybe they don't have all those details worked out yet.
I know that opinions are subjective but speaking objectively as a musician, Wallflowers wasn't inferior to their previous work, it was just different. It's something you're going to have to bear in mind when evaluating Jinjer, the "better than" or "worse than" standards don't apply to them anymore. 🙂
@module79l28 It was inferior in the simple sense that we didn't like it as much, and we're musicians too. "Better than / worse than" standards always apply to every band and every album and these standards are always subjective.
I genuinely don't understand people who hear this song and think it's good. They clearly could not figure out which direction they wanted to take the song. And the drums weren't mixed well at all.
The beauty of people is that we all have differing opinions. The world would be a VERY boring place if we didn’t. 🤘🏻 On top of that, I can actually appreciate what you’re saying about the critique of the direction - upon first couple of listens I had a similar thought. But after numerous listens along with digesting the lyrics, it makes a lot more sense to me now. But like you, I just have my own opinion 😊
I am slightly annoyed that it sounds like it could be straight off of wallflowers. You wait so long for "new music" but it sounds just like the last stuff and they aren't one of those types of bands their album vary a lot. It's still a good song. well see how the rest of it sounds..
Easily one of the best and most consistent review channels out there. Thank you, TwoToeTags!

Great new song and the lyrics as usual have deep meanings.
" I am out of words almost ", was also exactly what I was thinking after hearing this insane banger of a song!
Man I love it so much!
Jinjer is back! So glad they released new music
They're reportedly going to be playing music from their new album on their fall 2024 US tour.

New Jinjer, new Opeth with growls and #Gojira at the olympics!!!!!!!!
sick track
The tighter slightly higher pitched snare sound is a piccolo snare which is on the right side of Vlad's kit.
Eugene is playing the goddamn shit out of that bass.
@@ryanexsus really?! Where?!
@@satanictaffy You don't hear those runs?

Damn, I need that LOATHE t-shirt!
Great song, I do believe this is coming from a new album just not announced yet. And to echo some others, gotta check out the new Opeth!
Yes. They posted regular updates of the recording sessions. Album is completely done.
It's been announced, in as much as they have finished the album....when it's coming out? Not sure.....

I still say it sounds like Mudvayne, I'm not complaining, I'm not talking sh*t ... I love it 🤘🏻
Sorry Metallica should have an F somewhere in their name now.

What make Jinjer so interesting to me is the "controlled Chaos" of the their song, they take me on a musical trip.
