Perhaps, perhaps not. This is the era shortly (relative to the Keyblade War) before Xehanort was born. We may even see Odin as a kid. Brain obviously appears to be Eraqus' grandfather. So who knows, many some of these characters are just retired lol

@@taqresu5865 I would like to believe they do set off into the sunset but my gut feeling is most of them won’t. As you mentioned this is in the time period just before Dark road but we also know by the time of Dark Road, Scala is pretty desolate without many people and most of the surrounding areas are deserted completely. It’s pointed out as Xhenaort being found was confounding to Erequs. Something is going to happen to turn missing link scala into dark road scala. But on a brighter hope, I do hope we see young master Odin

The Astral Plane really is the missing link. It explains where some of the keyblade wielders went (becoming us irl), how Strelitzia got there, how Sora got there and likely how he will get back.

Every time you went over the scene with the city exploration but NOT reacting to the line "The Astral Plane connects the realms of Existence and Non-existence" I was practically screaming "DUDE!!!". SE just casually dropped the biggest bomb of how MoM and the Foretellers go between Reality and Unreality, there's a whole ass plane of existence that connects Reality and Fiction. Bar none the biggest lore drop in terms of explanations and implications. Cannot wait to see your thoughts on it.

I’m pretty sure that the player’s keyblade is rusted because it was left behind at the Keyblade Graveyard at the end of UX and has rusted over time, but once we “reincarnate” into Missing-Link it reawakens and is summoned into our hands, still rusted
This doesn't work, though, since the player can still wield a Keyblade even after the True Darkness reveals itself at the end of Union Cross. (And, yes, they can wield Starlight if that's what they were using before getting locked out of the Data World.)
The drought has ended! I am so hyped for the future of Kingdom Hearts, the concept of the Astral plane is very exciting since it might bridge between reality and unreality, it could be the place that will connect Missing Link to Kindom Hearts 4, the story implications for the Astral plane is enormous and it will add so much for the lore of KH and introduce the soul aspect and hopefully the characters of ML will explore it further and uncover the existence of Quadratum/Unreality! Let's gooooooo!

This game look like it's going to be crazy when it comes out.
Imagine my surprise, waking up randomly in the night and just choosing to open up Twitter on a whim, and then coming face to face with this trailer initially thinking I missed something yesterday lol. This game continues to look cool but more importantly I can't wait for the story.

The new girl looks like she could be a descendent of Skuld and Ephemer. Her hair looks like a combination of theirs. Brain also has to marry someone if he is Eraqus' grandfather. Xehanort and Eraqus could be first cousins for all we know.

Well, we know they are as the player from Union Cross is the same as in Missing Link; Dark Road confirms such. Same heart, different body.
Kingdom Hearts is the only place left with a small glimmer of the Good Old Disney Magic.
I haven’t played any game of the series since Sora joined smash and I saw the horrors the company did to their legendary and magic IPs around this time.
I’ve lost my faith in Disney. So I pray to God this last bit of old magic is not wiped out.
I pray for Kingdom Hearts to remain as light, in a darkness consumed world.
KH and the old stuff too. Let's not forget that, the magic is in the old movies.
Disney has long been dead and its important to understand that all good things come to an end.

And my prayer is that what happened in the “Magic Kingdom” doesn’t happen in Kingdom Hearts too. I’ve lost too much seeing how disney treated it’s own legacy. I don’t want to lose this series too.
Yet, I’m ready to say goodbye to it too if it is also lost.
Curious to see how it's all gonna play in KH4, the fact it's 3D this time with actual npcs all over the world makes it better in terms of storytelling.

I think the "societies" they mention will be the factions that we can join like in KHUx. The white-haired girl and red-haired guy have the same red outfit on soooo maybe they're part of the same society? 🤔
Perhaps. We know from the initial details about Missing Link that the blue bloods are those who are descended from the Dandelions and the old Keyblade wielders of Daybreak Town, and that these descendants are considered of high class within Scala's society being the only ones who can carry Keyblades out in the open without facing any consequences. (Similar to how Samurai were in Feudal Japan: Only they could carry weapons freely.)

That doesn't work, though, since the player never got to be around for the Keyblades to rust as they were on the brink of death just after the Keyblade Graveyard was formed, and they died at the end of Union Cross.

I'm holding out for DEAR LIFE that this game will be available in Indonesia... Because UX was never available here so I had to get it through an APK, but that means a lot of the features aren't locally supported, and especially so for a GPS based game. But that overview of earth looks like there's something over Indonesia so I'm feeling good for now

It's not known if they even reincarnated or not given they fully died of old age at the beginning of Dark Road.
I was SO HAPPY, already loving new girl and Axel/Lea/HMK, but then I saw which countries. I screamed in agony for a full minute. Why only 2 countries SE?! In exactly a month there’ll be another which I hope my country will be eligible for, AND in exactly a month I’ll become…. Uhm… 40. So it’d be a nice bday present if I could participate in khml beta test

I'm completetly stoked for this and I hope I can be one of the Beta testers! I plan to play the entire Kingdom Hearts series on my channel including this game if I can. I looked the Kingdom Hearts timeline up one day (and saved the image on my phone) and found out that the first mainline game is Birth By Sleep (after X Back Cover, Chi, and Cross); which, according to the name, is a very fitting game to start the series with. I have The Story So Far for the PS4 and I'll be playing the series on a PS5 I just bought. The capture card I have does pass through with 4K, but only records at 1080p60. I don't know when I'll start the series, but I hope it'll be soon. I'll announce when I'll start recording my first episode on my channel. I hope you'll all be able watch me play through the series, which I'll educate the viewers about the complex lore to the best of my ability, when I have the time to do so. Oh, and if you'd prefer I remove this comment based on bothering you with my channel advertisement on yours, please let me know and I'll remove it at my earliest convenience.

This was a good trailer.
My theory is that in KHML that the person you play as isn’t the player character it’s a random character you play as or there’s a time skip after the ending showing the player character getting old and such.
That doesn't seem to be the case; After all, the player's body perished at the end of Union Cross along with everything else.
Astral plane? I can see how Kingdom Hearts is trying to tie in with the MCU or at the very least take inspiration from it. ❤️
Different dimensions have been a concept in fiction for centuries.
The only thing at this point were missing are the celebration drinks more kh more lore and a bigger step towards this kh-4 sliver screen journey ahead
