45 and really starting to play. That’s cool to hear.
I’m 34 and I’m thinking of joining a pool league for the first time.
I have a lot of anxiety and sad to admit it’s been quite debilitating and resulted in me completely checking out of society for the past two years.
If I join the league it would be my first step in trying to connect with people again
One thing thats wonderful about the game of pool for those who struggle with social anxiety, and I’ve noticed this in the pool hall I’ve been going to, is people can be playing for hours and say barely anything to one another.
It’s like poker in the way that it can be as social or as anti social as you need it to be without feeling uncomfortable.

@@PriusMike88 We all developed bad habits during the plague over the past few years, living alone and working from home also doesn't help.. I'm 42 and joined a weekly local pub pool comp. It was a good reason to get out of the house and speak with people, it's amazing how much we need regular face-to-face human interaction with different people and to have new conversations to remain sane. I find the pub comps are the best, free pool and a relaxed atmosphere, despite that I don't drink. Also you get to meet a broad range of people from different backgrounds, you can learn their stories.. or not.. or just connect on the mutual love of the game. It's very equalising in that regard, whether they're a lawyer, a brick layer, or an immigrant who hasn't seen their family in 3 years.

Had the chance to use your technique for Shot #4 - Spinning it in in a game tonight, and it worked. The shot #10 - Off the Rail Jump situation came up, too - same 3 balls left on the table and everything, except the 8 ball was a little further from the bank, and the 10 ball was a little further from the pocket but still blocking it - table scratched the cue ball in the direction of the shot, but I wasn't really expecting to sink that one on the first try, surprised it came up so soon after watching this. Love your videos! Do you think you could do one about avoiding a scratch on the follow through on straight, head on shots on balls near the pocket, especially long, corner pocket shots?

Very good, would like to see more of the cue tip hitting the ball with the camera behind you rather than in front of you apart from that good video , ps wished I knew this when I used to play back in the 1980s

I found twisting my cue to the direction of desired travel saimitaneously with the stroke of the cue works well
