Hmmm, had you chosen not to block the recruiter's guild, you could have paid just one coin to get another worker, and then you would have had the chance of getting either another worker for two more coins, or the four woods, had Jen decided to go for the new worker.
The thing that irks me about this game is that all the buildings are visible on the board even though they haven't been built yet, which would lessen the satisfaction of building up the town for me.
