I got the Elite trophy without having to do it! I don't know why, it might be a bug but here's what I did to get it so you can test it. I finished the game one time in normal mode and French language, got the bandana ending and received the code name "iguana". When I started the new game plus, the Elite trophy popped just like that at the beginning! Best bug in my life! 😁 Hopefully It will works for you too unless you want to do it legit! 😅

Hardest part for me was probably vulcan, as I was low hp and was being stingy with my 1 ration, I think if i used it i would have done it on my first try. I also went for the boba skip as i found out about it recently, so much easier than going all the way up and down with the rope. Couldn’t infinite on liquid but i have a save in case i want to practice it for a speed run attempt. Now to mgs 2 after i beat it ill come for the plat guide

I was wondering when I played MGS 1 why the bosses seemed so tanky, because when I started playing I was misguided thinking that it would be easy but no the game can kick you a%%.
The torture... if you're NOT playing Integral/PC, JPN Vanilla or GCN Twin Snakes, how many times you get shocked is difficulty based, as on those versions I mentioned or the international releases of the vanilla game on Easy is just 3 times, Normal 4 times, Hard 5 times and Extreme 6 freaking times (now try to survive the six times with the default life-bar by using the vent glitch prior to the 1st soldier ambush to reach the torture room earlier... three times is just hard enough for the average player to survive in that scenario), good to see you put tips for both Hard and Extreme situations, as pretty much the guide works as a whole with little to no variations overall (by the way, while at some point in the future I have to do this again on Ps5, I already got the Platinum on Ps4, some trophy/achievement names are different between Ps4 and the other platforms, but the conditions are the same, one in particular I like more the Ps4 name than the others is the 100% VR-Mission disc completition as on non-Ps4 is called Practice Makes Perfect while on Ps4 is VR-Mission Graduate, giving the tedious task a better sense of completition). Edit: You forgot to mention that you can ALSO use MGS Integral VR-Disc for the VR-Missions related trophies (which is what I did to avoid the 50fps limit from the EUR releases prior to the last updates that fixed the issue with the USA VR-Missions Disc option NOT unlocking the trophies/achievements).
This guides given me a lot to make the run work. I’ve tried twice. First was a good test run and my legit proper attempt I just finished. I somehow had 4 alerts so I have to redo it all again. What a pain in the ass..
In my case it was the same, but I knew about it, however the consistency is kinda messy so I ended up blowing myself up a couple of times before I pulled that off, especially on Extreme when Raven doesn't really react to getting hurt and starts running from the get-go like if he's less than 50% health on the other difficulties, not to mention that is also the game a little bit harder on Integral Alternate Round with some guards or obstacles in different possitions like a guard right behind the first door on Blast Furnace and a gun camera just to name an example of how the game threw me off-guard despite knowing it very well.

What is the intended way to deal with that guard in the walkway when you emerge from the Pal Key room? Other than the glitch of equipping and unequipping to conceal footsteps?
Late reply, but the trick is to stand behind the iron pillar directly left of the command room. The guard goes wide when he turns the corner, so he will walk right past you.
I hate the randomness of the elevator calls when trying to be fast. If you're in B-2 and it comes from floor 1, the wait is like 7-9 seconds. 26:33 If you save here, the load will take you back to the previous room, which means you'll have to re-do the "Mr. FOX-HOUND" cutscene. For time's sake, it's better to save right after entering this hallway.
I love videos like these, because I never cared about trophies or ranks unless they actually unlock something, so these videos are perfect to help me in those few specific instances where I don't like to meander and I just want to get it over with. I have a question about the save files though. If I load up the second save file made before the torture sequence and then complete it, will I have both the bandana and the stealth camo when I start a playthrough with the orange dock file, or do I need to fully complete the orange dock file to get both items on a third playthrough?
Just wanna say, especially if you're on Extreme, Wolf 2 takes 10 Nikita missiles, so make absolutely certain you stock up on at least 10 before you enter the fight. Don't waste them.
Ive got a trivial question: why is the stealth no kills run labeled as Big Boss run in the series? I get the stealth part considering the type of his missions but why no kills? The man loved war, how come not killing is his trademark? Edit: it would more likely be a Solid Snake run as he is the man who made impossible possible, considering the requirements

About the VR Missions, did they fix it so that you don't need to do the Special Missions version? I heard there was a bug that only made that one possible.
I remember I completed VR missions on October while the bug exists. Then they resolved it and I just entered one mission of the VR and exited and trophy was achieved successfully

Then I discovered I had a fucking bomb on me on B1 and tossed it and it went straight to alert. It fucking sent me all the way back to before Johnny came in, another fifteen tries and I STILL can’t get it
And it wouldn’t be so goddamned bad if my arm wasn’t tired from trying to pass the torcher sequence about ten times today and thirty times yesterday. They want you to save time but also go through a huge codec sequence and then a cutscene and an unskiplable cutscene so you’re just passing time by quickly as you can and then there’s nothing you can do for the unstoppable cutscene so you just sit there and wait to go on alert again.

You miss out on the health boosts from the boss fights that get skipped. Time isn't really a factor, this guide does it in about 2 hours but you have 3 to work with
Only for Big Boss rank. But, for mgs 1 you can get the fox rank, or big boss to get the trophy. Unlike mgs2 and 3 you have to turn off Radar. You can even use special items in mgs 1 and still get both ranks.
The ocelot tactic does not work on extreme. I will pay $10 to anyone who can document it on a run with ZERO damage. I have spent 3 hours on ocelot alone on extreme and got the timing and placement of where he is not “meant to hit you” I don’t know how many times. Replicated it on hard numerous times in row. Extreme. Impossible. PS4 master collection

That Vulcan Raven stun lock would have been nice to know when I was trying to platinum MGS1 💀Couldn't get hit once as my health was too low

If you mess up and die or something else bad happens, can you quit the game and re load a save without affecting your end score?
Yes, otherwise the Big Boss rank on the US version would be a nightmare to achieve.

Why not do the torture room skip to skip most of the game?
