Top10In TheWorld - Gills. SAF and Sir Bobby are Director of ambassadorial roles. The Board - which make all the business and transfer biz decisions - is made up of 6 Glazers siblings ( who are living in USA and clueless about football). 3 executive directors ( Woodward Richard Arnolds and CFO ). Plus 3 independent directors ( where none of them have Football knowledge but with banking or media background. They are there to ensure compliance to Stock Exchange rules). So u can see Woodward is the one making all the decisions. Gary Neville knows things from inside and he openly criticised the useless Woodward. Dnt blame the wrong person. Thank you Stephen for raising this subject; and in a very well-measured way! The other fan channels that I've written to over the years have either not addressed it at all or branded any action we take against the Glazers as futile and a waste of time. Well I would rather do something, however small, than sit around, like those other fan channels, moaning about the state of the club but doing sod all to change things; even if they could just get vocal about the biggest underlying problem to all the things they complain about, the problem of the Glazers, their greed & their incompetence. It would help start the rumble and bring it in to the public-awareness arena where solutions could be discussed; and fan channels, if they cooperated, would have such a huge viewership to discuss and call for solutions. I have advocated year after year that we should boycott the club's merchandise etc. and hit the Glazers in the only place it will hurt, their wallets. That is all they will ever understand. They are vulture capitalists and immune to everything except loss of profits. Make them lose money. I realize this is not the whole answer to a massive problem but it is something each one of us can do very easily. Perhaps a consortium of affluent fans, ex-players, and interested business people, if they combined, could raise the 4 billion necessary to launch a takeover. The latter of course requires an incredible amount of organization which in turn would require an incredible amount of planning. In 2012 Forbes magazine estimated Manchester United FC as having 659 million fans worldwide. Forbes is very reputable as a magazine but this figure could be wildly inflated. If it isn't we could buy the club w/ approx. 6 pounds each. I know, ridiculous that that could happen, right, but it does illustrate that if people who love the club and actually do have a lot of money did pool their resources a consortium is not such a crazy idea. The boycott may be small but would be a very good start; even to make each of us feel better about ourselves. As Henry Ford said “Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right.”.

Why hasn’t anyone in the fandom taken Ferguson to task for our decline. After all, he sowed the seeds of our downfall. He was complicit in the Glazers’ takeover, he left the squad to deteriorate during his final 4 years as gaffer, then came the Moyes appointment. Was indirectly responsible for Mourinho’s appointment, and had a hand in Solskjaer being made long-term coach, and has been giving Solskjaer and the club all kinds of bad advice. He may’ve done a lot of good for the club, but he’s also done us a lot of damage, especially since 2009.

We're all United fans at the end of the day and videos like this help to remind fans from across the world that the enemy is not fellow reds, it's the family who plunged this club into debt, appointed incompetent staff and either lack the desire or ability to make the club anything other than a cash cow and a status symbol asset for them. Like always it's the fans who suffer as a result.

As a Liverpool fan from Liverpool, i must say, i enjoy the watching United fall. Though i wanted it happen on the pitch only, not off the pitch. Off the pitch it is awful to see. The lack of respect the English fans and premier league is shown.- The English (Swansea and cardiff) teams need protecting from bad owners.
Newcastle, Arsenal, Cardiff, Blackpool, Portsmouth, Looton, QPR etc...all screwed over by bad owners. It needs the government to introduce regulations to enable the FA to protect them.
Liverpool had a lucky escape from Hicks and Gillette. The fans of all teams need to come together to fight this.

You can go on and debate till the end of times to figure out how we can get a reaction from the Glazers... the solution is simple, all you fans need to take the emotional aspect out of it... you need to view this as a business strategy rather than a football solution. All the Glazers care about is dividends and ROI (which they got a long time ago for the initial purchase of the club)... you want to make them feel dissatisfaction? STOP CONSUMING!! Don't buy season tickets, don't buy the kits, the merchandise, dont watch the broadcasted games... hell don't even partake/consume/support any of the major sponsorship deals they have with other companies.

I've been a United fan since I was 9 and I'm now 41. I haven't been to a game at OT for 2 years and sadly, won't be renewing my membership for next season for the first time in over 30 years. The reason for this is because we are now a joke of a football club and I refuse to put any money into that club in its current set up. We have record profits every year yet the owners won't spend what is required to get the club back where it should be. 90% of the players have an appaling attitude and only play for the money, not the badge and until that is instilled back into the players and they understand what a privilege it is to play for United we will continue to finish out of the top 4. The only way things will change is if they are hit where it hurts and people do what I'm doing and don't put any money into the club but I expect they'll always be enough day trippers out there to finance the debt.

As a season ticket holder and fan of 31 years i am struggling to enjoy this club atm, this club has spent buttons on the team in the 8 years since SIR AF left, and what money they have spent so far has been wasteful with the Pogba, Lukaku and Sanchez deals being where most of the recent spending has gone. And you also have to look and comment WHO has bought those players as there has always been strong links to Woodward being the guy who buys the players and seems like he will continue to do so. Very well said. I am not a MUFC fan but I am a football fan and cannot abide what has been done to your club by non MUFC/Football fans. I am so mad I have even collected data myself and I share it below. Nothing you do not already know but useful for reference.
    Most of the
capital used by Glazer to purchase Manchester United came in the form of loans,
the majority of which were secured against the club's assets, incurring
interest payments of over £60 million per annum
    Leverage takeover
    - Manchester United used as collateral for £525 Million debt
    Over £1 Billion
taken out of club to service debt brought about by leverage takeover
    GLAZER FAMILY DEBT AND DIVIDENDS
    When the Glazer
family took over Manchester United in 2005 they loaded £525m in debt onto the
    club.
    In the 13 years
that have followed, staggering amounts have been paid on servicing that debt,
£275m of which was in the shape of a high-interest loan.
    Costs are now
more manageable - last year £24m was spent on financing - but the debt remains
    at £487m.
    Thanks to a
dividend introduced three years ago the Glazers, who own 97 per cent of
United’s voting shares picked up £18m last year.
    The owners and
    investors were paid £22m, £23m in 2016-17 and £20m in 2015-16.
    A year ago, 4.3m
shares were sold for $17 each. That added in a further £56m for the Americans.

But a huge sum of the money comes from merchandise sales in countries like India, South Africa, Thailand, etc. Unlike the majority of fans I know here in India, I’m informed enough to know about movements like this. Most fans here though, aren’t the type to do much other than watch the games and buy the merch. I think for a movement like this to be successful, we need to reach the people in the lesser developed countries that Woodward has reached with his sales strategies.

This campaign is pointless. Boycotting sky sports, match tickets, season tickets and merch is probably the only way to go. Excellent video. Peace!

I hate the people who are bashing this idea. Every quarterly address they announce social media followers, it is clearly something they care about and will hurt them.

Apparently all season tickets have been sold for next season around 55,000 i believe , thats £35,800,000 a very rough estimate, that does not include match day purchases which i dont have a rough number for but with 76,000 fans im sure they rake in plenty per match at home, so thats where we should start, not buying tickets, empty games no money instead it will cost them to run and play matches, not buying from sponsors inc Adidas aon Apollo kholer etc etc im no expert but pretty sure seeing not even one ticket being sold would do something

The only boycott that will ever work is boycotting matches but the fans will never do that

Your the best man to get all the fans motivated Stephen, your the only one who doesn't rant and spout bullshit . I'm sure you can't ask fans to boycott games, knowing the waiting list. Perhaps late entrance to the ground on match day or early departure or don't spend any money whilst there, I don't know but I think you might 👍👍👍👍

I always remember when I was 10/11 years old, my year 6 teacher (who was a city fan) said the glazers would ruin our club. At the time I thought he was just being bitter but I guess not 😞! I’m 24 now a lot has gone wrong in that time

I wish people would wise up. A team/club cannot win everything for ever. There has to be a rebuilding process at some point.
The Utd team used to have Vidic, Rio, Neville, Evra, Scholes, Giggs, Ronaldo and Rooney. None of those players have yet been replaced in the team.
We now have a new manager and cannot jump the gun. The club are spending money so people just need to wise up.

I’ve been thinking lately, a potential route to returning the club to fan ownership could be a system where fans pay a certain sum every month to a pot similar to how I’m sure most fans pay for something like Netflix. The club’s currently valued at £4bn as Howson says in the vid. The club also claims to have 650million fans worldwide. Of course, all of those fans won’t donate £5 per month, not close. But: with enough backing, 10 million Utd fans worldwide might not be a ridiculous amount to aim for. 10 million fans donating £5 every month to get Utd fan-owned lands us £4billion in 80 months. That’s 7 years time. That might seem ages away, but Ferguson retired 6 years ago. It might be worth looking in to.

We need an organisation to get behind, I would not mind paying a few quid a month for membership if proper general meetings were held where plans could be made. If 100 people on twitter say they will do something IRL 10 of them will probably do it, If 100 united fans at a meeting agree to do something I have no doubt at least 90 of them would follow through with whatever was agreed.

I encourage anyone who is going to the game this weekend to wear green and gold. Our fanbase maybe disjointed in some regards but, I think its safe to say that none of us like the direction the club is going. It is time that we let the owners know WE WANT CHANGE.

the best thing to do is not to buy the season ticket, don´t buy the ticket, don´t attend any game that united play.

Liverpool got to the UCL final last year and the keeper let them down, they knew he was a weakness so they got a better keeper who got them into the final this year. United have known their defenders are a weakness for years so they give them new contracts.

I'm liking this. The trend was supposed to raise awareness and it did. ESPN has an article on this and if more big youtubers can raise awareness on this movement, maybe a proper pacific protest/march can be planned. Positive thing in that is at least all fans are going to be on the same side. Thank you.

Arsenal fans protesting against the board and Wenger was apparently a no-no and everybody here esp. Adam Makola was making fun of that. Now you finally see what it is to support a team that you don't even recognize. And just so we are clear Arsenal fans did this after a decade. You haven't even begun to see how bad it really gets

We've had the money for transfers, but it's not been spent right! 2008 was arguably our greatest and strongest ever team. We reached around 3 Champions League finals from 2008 to 2012 I believe! I don't like the owners, but I don't really think they're the reason why we are struggling now.

For the nay-sayers: doing stg is better than doing nothing at all. You believe you should peacefully protest? Do it, those like-minded will join you. You believe you should unfollow them on all forms of social? Same answer as above. You believe you should stop buying season tickets, kits, etc? Ditto. The point is, just do SOMETHING to show your disappointment. Money talks and they will have to listen, sooner rather than later.
