Nice to see people like you helping young people out and showing them they don’t need top name tackle to catch fish it’s the way you do it thank you for your time
Hi Andrew A class start to your challenge😀 Probably one of the best fishing videos I've seen on RUclips to be honest👍 It had everything mate, beautiful BIG fish some great tips from a class angler. Well done mate pure class👍🎣👍 So tight lines good luck to with the challenge. 🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
Hi Gavin, Thanks for a good word - appreciated. Hope it will go well for me. I feel I have the skills to get it done just maybe the weather conditions and lack of free time may get in the way. Early days though 👌👌 Cheers
Hi Andrew, nice videos. I've not watched them all but working on it. I think we live in the same area.. Newark? I too have had some big Perch from the same location as in this video (I won't say where) Keep up the good work! :)
That was so enjoyable..makes me want to go and buy a jig rod and reel and av a go at perch myself and get some exercise to..would make a change from sitting behind barbel rods thank you..
Absolutely awesome perch andrew thanks for all the information great fishing andrew i remember fishing for perch on the leeds to Liverpool canal back in the 70's 4 to 5 pound perch where caught quite regularly back then leeds to Liverpool canal was a fantastic water had some absolutely fantastic tench and roach perch how time changes things canals are like ghost towns now they used to have 150 peg matches on the leeds to Liverpool canal now people don't fish canals because of the idiot's who attack the anglers to steal there tackle the world was a different place back in the 70's wish them days would comeback ALIEN
Thanks. Hope to see a 4 lb. Perch with my own eyes soon. Yes, I agree that people behavior is getting worse. Soon we will need to get a gun to fish public places to protect ourselves. 👍
Excellent !!! Great video and great start on your quest !!! Can i ask what diameter/breaking strain fluorocarbon you use ? Thumbs up and a like from me !!! Look foward to the next one !!!
Very informative video and some top quality fish! I wondered if you could cover the Carolina rig? I have access to the middle Trent around the stoke and Burton areas, also stretches of the river dove, sow ext? Do you feel the rivers are more productive than the still waters? Iv never fished a river for perch, I would like to know how you go about fishing them, do you focus on the slack areas and avoid the flow? Thanks
I will go and answer valid questions: "I wondered if you could cover the Carolina rig?" - I could but personally, I believe simple paternoster is much better. "Do you feel the rivers are more productive than the still waters?" - not really. Both water types can be good when you locate the fish. "I would like to know how you go about fishing them, do you focus on the slack areas and avoid the flow?" - it depends. In winter for sure slacker areas; in summer they are all over the places. One rule still is valid - look for structure (walls, submerged stuff etc.). Cheers
You could, if the trace is supple enough to be knotted BUT personally I can't see the point of it. If Pike is a problem, then 0.50-0.60 mm. fluorocarbon line works fine. Cheers
Hi Andrew I hope I find you well in these bizarre circumstances ie COVID-19 I would like your thoughts and maybe expierience of baitcaster reels and telescopic rods I have purchased a torrent piscifun reel and am waiting for my 7foot kastking Blackhawk || telescopic rod but due to Covid the postal system from China has been delayed by Covid I received an e mail asking me if they could resend or refund so who knows when it will get here many thanks I looked to your comments .

Re line diameters, it depends obviously. Mostly, 0.13 mm.-0.17 mm. ✌
Lovely Perch..
Thank you 👌
Do you find the river Trent very snaggy? Does that rig catch on the bottom much, do you lose tackle fishing with lures?
Depends. Some areas are very snaggy.
@@AndrewsKnots So what line strength would you use as a main line, and a tippet please Andrew?

@@AndrewsKnots Andrew I appreciate the feedback, many thanks!
Could you do a wire trace in a similar situation?

As per my answer on similar question next to different video 👌
Andrew, what length rod do you use for those techniques on the trent ?
It depends really. If in strong flow, the longer the better. Mostly I go with 2.30 m. or 2.60 m.
Cheers
What are the hooks you use called and the weights?
Almost Aberdeen type hooks. Similar to these bit.ly/3pRcrjc
Weights are these bit.ly/3pRhUXa
Hi, is there any chance you do master class?
Hi,
Like a live show? Will consider it.
Cheers
Is a 3 pound perch a monster??? Not in Denmark.
Well, yes, my friend. A 3 lb. Perch is a specimen fish everywhere except the parallel universe you call Denmark, I guess👌
@@AndrewsKnots how is your English?? Thats not what i asked pal, i know what a perch is.
Please read my above comment once more. 👌
