About 18 years ago, I was fortunate enough and blessed to have met Ali who was with his brother in downtown Chicago. I was with my parents and we were all at a physical rehab appointment for my late father and by chance happened to bump into Ali. My dad put up his arms in a boxing guard and so did Ali. We even exchanged handshakes. A truly priceless moment I'll always treasure and never forget.

It’s just a joke, it’s a way guys/ppl can tease her earnestly compliment one another simultaneously, you could tell both these guys are very socially intelligent people. Tyson on the other hand wasn’t as socially intelligent in the pragmatic way, but Mike had his own genius instilled in large part by Cus but perhaps just as much or I daresay even more by the incredibly dark and hostile place he grew up in on the streets of Brooklyn/NYC at the time he was there with the awful situation his family to the extent he’d even had one was in. Also because of this, despite his outstanding physical gifts (which height wasn’t among, for a world class super heavyweight anyway, given Mike was only like 5’11” hell maybe even 5’10” (now that he’s older at least lol) though he was always listed as 5’11”. On the other hand, I learned very very young that often the smaller, stockier guys can be the most dangerous/pugnacious ones. Also, given what Mike had to contend with emotionally and psychologically, in some ways he deserves more respect than Ali who earned his share too with his Vietnam situation but also was always a tall handsome beloved charismatic fellow without the dark background Mike had so didn’t face the kinds of dark emotions Mike was constantly struggling against and still is a little thought thankfully he’s doing much better today as far as I can tell (thank God for Cus’s genius in recognizing his talent and then in molding him psychologically, intellectually, and physically the way he did even as an elderly guy, Cus has a real GOAT spirit for that). But yeah Mike’s story is probably more compelling to me, and frankly I don’t know how peak Mike could’ve been beat by anyone, even Ali with his reach advantage and speed, Mike’s speed and power and pugnacious intelligence and viciousness was just unbelievable before Cus sadly died and Mike surrounded himself with grifter clowns and scumbags including that wretched witch Robin Givens, among many others like Don King and the whole Nation of Islam clown show.
Anyway, yeah Muhammad, Cus, and Ali all had immense respect for one another and rightfully so.

No Cus D'Amato made a MAN and a warrior...Don King made Tyson a monster.
I know you don't mean monster in a derogatory way but Tyson became a despicable human being when he was around Don King after Cus died. He lost his foundations and became easily manipulated especially his evil wife at the time.

I dunno man, based on the Pilot episode before us, and the fact that reality TV isn't great, I'm glad this is all we have. I do think that a funny skit could be made about black men being untrusting, getting pissed off with encounters with this old white guy until they find out hes conveniently always near a black boxer that takes up for him and his curmudgeonly disposition, explaining it away as indiscriminate, helping to lift brothers up. They then say, this is Cus. He's cool. Then they say, awww ok that's whats up Cuz, then he does a black hand shake thing with them and they say, keep it up, cuz. Then, exhausted at the end of his day having to defend his asshole old white guyness every day, takes his shoes off and says to himself out loud with a sigh..."Fuckin Naggers".

I love this, this is such a generational thing, where the young man is being cocky and brazen and thinks these old timers know nothing and then gets schooled by grandpa.
It really does feel like a grandfather and a grandson relationship here, as good as Ali was Cus just had an eye and a great mind for this sport, even if his body can't keep up anymore, he taught Ali something that day.
