Fun fact about the Okinawa Pokemon center: the reason Arcaine and Growlithe are so prominent are because they are similar to Shisas which are a huge part of Okinawa culture. It’s really cool!

While that is true, I think the Red Gyarados in Hiroshima was chosen for other thematic reasons as well: the atomic bomb. The theme is essentially a message about the manipulation and terror caused by humans in nature.

It's extremely unfortunate that almost all of the exclusive merch has been removed. Just a few years ago you would have been able to get special plushies / other merch that was only available in each specific center. Now you're not missing much if you're only visiting the four in Tokyo.
I visited all of them except for 4 and there are some exclusives but it’s not necessarily obvious. It could be an additional line to an existing set of items or an additional variant of something already being sold. I would say 95% is the same across all though.
I only got to visit the Pokemon Store in the Osaka airport when I went but they had captain pikachu merch. I got a little clear folder with him in a captain outfit that I use as a poster. This was back in 2014.
30:55 Fun Fact: Because Turkey or Ham is nearly impossible to get in Japan (since Turkey and Pigs aren't common in that country), the closest Japan can get in terms of meats during the holidays is Fried Chicken. So when the manager of the first KFC stores in Japan noticed how children loved him dressed up as santa claus and gave out kentucky fried chicken, he had an idea in 1974 to market a campaign, followed by a jingle of "My old kentucky home" ingrained into the commercials to have KFC's Party basket chicken be made every christmas. I wanna go to Japan one day. When I have the money and time. Its technically impossible because my family is going through so much right now. Someday though I'll visit the pokemon shops and centers in Japan. It's also been my dream since I was very young. This video must have taken a lot of hard work I love it. Great job! I recently went to japan and am just jealous at seeing all the other stores i couldnt stop at. Did visit a few in tokyo and kyoto. To anyone thinking about a trip to japan, yes do it! Loved this video so much!!! 😍 would have loved to meet you two! 💖 since moving to Japan last year I’ve only been able to visit the Pokémon Centers around Tokyo but as a Pokémon fan it’s my dream to one day visit them all like you did! some things I want to point out is that most of the items you saw were collections just released at the time you visited or previous ones already sold out at other stores, not exclusives (like the wakka de ikka, I basically have the whole collection cause I was obsessed last year haha), the exclusive items sell out pretty fast, sad you couldn’t find the ones at Tokyo DX, I usually always see the exclusive Pikachu plushies there. and there actually is a coin machine in the Pokémon Center in Shibuya, you just missed it 🥲 funny how I used to buy a LOT of stuff every time I went to a Pokémon Center last year when I still had my money but never got any of those coins lol and never made a shirt… also sad that Mewtwo was apparently turned off when you visited, cause it’s so cool that it moves and talks!! it breaks my heart that unfortunately I have to leave Japan for now and I only have a few weeks left before I move but I hope I can at least go see the new Tokyo Bay since I haven’t been there yet after the renewal… hopefully I will be able to solve my situation and come back next year, maybe even as a tourist for the first time so I can finally visit more of Japan! and of course the Pokémon Centers while I’m in those towns 😆 thank you so much for sharing this experience with us, can’t wait to watch the rest of the journey on the other channel! maybe we’ll be able to meet in Japan one day 👍🏻
I'm so happy for you!! We also took our dream trip to Japan this year and got to see 6 Pokemon Centers on our 9 day trip. Can't wait to watch this all and see what we experienced in common. Seeing pics from your trip made me more determined to make mine a reality and I can say we accomplished it!!
I went to Shibuya, Kyoto and Osaka Pokémon centers back in June. Just seeing everything Pokemon with Pokemon music playing in the stores is such a nostalgic feeling! I bought some cards, a charizard garchomp and aurorus plushies. Need to go back and visit the other stores some time!
Really love this video! I appreciated that you took to the time time match up the cities music with the corresponding city in the actual games! So glad you got to enjoy Japan!
30:50 So fun fact time. The reason why KFC is a huge thing during Christmas in Japan entirely due to marketing schemes. back when KFC was first establishing in Japan they noticed how there wasn't much of a celebration for Christmas at all in Japan being that they didn't have any prior experience to the holiday. KFC decided to start mass marketing during the Christmas holiday period and making it seem like KFC was a normal thing to eat during Christmas and that everyone back in America always ate it for Christmas as well. Suffice to say this marketing strategy worked an now in Japan KFC is synonymous with Christmas time. So every Christmas in Japan KFC sales sky rocket through the roof, at least that's what I've learned from watching youtube videos. Also Christmas in Japan focuses on couples more so than a big get together and celebrating family like it is in America. Still not exactly sure why that last part is though, I'll have to do some research on the topic later.
My First video from you... Wauw I loved everything, every step you guys took everything you guys seen every pokémon store with goodies and coins😍🔥 the nature and building ect ect... the end give me tears I my eyes, what a trip amazing🤗🤩

That was a cool pokemon center journey! I'm so happy for you, that you got to visit all of those neat places and experience so much of the culture of Japan. Hopefully I can afford to go there someday! It's on my bucket list. 😊✌️
The Shinsaibashi store ( the one you had to navigate awkwardly through Osaka to get to ) was my favourite when I was in Osaka last year. Lot less crowded, was super cute too! Just a shame it was in a giant department mall full of jewelry stores aha
Another quick addition for you, but my partner who lived in the (relative for Japan) tiny city of Matsuyama in Shikoku wanted you to know that there's a Pokemon center you missed there! It's supposedly a lot smaller than the others, and wasn't even on the map you showed at the start of the vid. I wonder if even the Pokemon Company forgot about Matsuyama...
Oooh, I just looked it up and it looks like it opened in September 2017! But I can barely find any info online; I had to dig a bit to find anything about it (only thing I found was a vlog with someone who went opening weekend.) I wonder if it's really so small that people forget about it somehow?
I believe it might be a Pokemon "Store" not "Center". It's a minor differencd but for this video I only counted the "Center" locations according to the official Pokemon site
@@MunchingOrange Ah yeah, that makes sense! Also would've meant to going to the boonies out in Matsuyama to say hey to one of the smaller, but still brill stores.
Hello! This video was a month ago and im not sure if anyone replied you yet ! It's called Pokemon Fit because it 'Fits' in your hand ! It's weighted at the bottom so it could sit on your hand comfortably!
There is a huge game center (which means Arcade) next to Pokemon center Yokohama. They serve a bunch of Pokemon crane game and you can get some special merch that Pokemon center doesn't sell so I really recommend people who visit Yokohama!
And now, you need to go back to visit all the "Pokémon Store's", not missing much really- except for some unique statues like a Pikachu with Mt.fuji (near Hakone), Pikachu Pilot (at the Narita airport), Pikachu train conductor (at the Tokyo Station) and so on and so on! btw, just met you from this video, instant subscriber.
We did this in 2016, 10 stores in 1 month! It was so fun & took us to places in Japan we probably wouldn't have visited otherwise. Next time we will do the 16+ stores too, & as many pokelids as possible. 😅
Amazing. The only Pokémon Center I've been to is the one at Singapore's Changi Airport (the Jewel). It was smaller than any of the ones in Japan from what I could see in your video, but I did get a small clip-on Changi Airport Pikachu plushie that now sits on my desk at my office.
Took a week visit back in January and I visited the Kyoto, Shibuya, and Sky Tree Canters while I was there. It was late so we didn’t do the design lab shirt, but I’m a shiny hunter so I got a shiny Raquaza figure that came home with me and sits on my desk watching we while I work. I definitely want to go back and visit other cities in a few years, mostly Osaka.
I've been watching your channel for 10 years Munch! This video was filled with such a large amount of joy and happiness, thank you for sharing this experience. It's my dream to make it over to Japan someday and see some of the same views you did, Cheers!
This was such an amazing video and journey to watch. Traveling to another country and not speaking the language sounds intimidating so congrats, I'm excited to see future your adventures.
It's a shame not all Pokémon Centers had the special coins. Did each store have location-specific magnets or some other merch that would be fun to collect? I'm suddenly inspired to do a similar trip in the future 😆

it's crazy that im 23 now and I've been watching MO since I was 13. Thank you Muching Orange for being a great part of my life growing up. You're literally the one that made me obssessed with pokemon to this day and seeing you make pokemon content still just feels like home ❤️❤️❤️
this is one of my fav videos you've made (prob cuz im a sucker for travel content and that mixed with pokemon is peak).
I love travel content too! The best of both worlds
In Japan, the sitting cuties are called pokemon fit because they are really small that they can *FIT* almost anywhere. I have been in love with Pokémon ever since the XY series played on my TV one day but I have just been really into plushies/merchandise and Pokémon centers so I love these kinds of videos.
Trainer Orange has decided to go through the Japhanagos Region:

Gimmick: All Pokémon get 5 moves
you should definitely get a badge case to hold all your coins
27:16 the way bro walked into the edit🤣
43:57 The least i expected to see was a statue of Bouya Harumichi next to Ronald McDonald in a pokemon video
I love how you tried to pair every irl city with its game counterpart music. Even KItakami's theme for Sendai.
Yokohama was my fav city when I lived in japan. I use to go that pokemon center all the time since it was always the most relaxing one for me.
same! Yokohama is my favorite city 💖
That "hehe...Corviknight" was so cute omg xD
It could also be a "Corvisquire" The evolution before Corviknight.
30:03 OMG I'm pretty sure you got the novel "Kimi to Ameagari o" which YOASOBI wrote a song for!! The song is called "Biri Biri"
35:01 RAHHHHH Pokemiku song playing on the screen
God I'm so jealous, and I'm also going to a pokemon center in a few months!! I can't wait!!!
A Garbador Trashcan😂
I love it when they combine Pokémon with everyday Items/Objekts.
i really enjoyed all the facts and seeing the surrounding areas of japan. it's not easy to make an hour long video, it's not easy to find the right balance of too little or too much information. and the narration was well done too!
Thank you! These type of comments are very motivating to keep me wanting to create bigger and better content. Glad you enjoyed 😬
@MunchingOrange thank you too! i'm glad i was able to brighten your day a little since you brightened mine.
This is what I tried to do on my last trip! It was such a core memory. I can totally relate to visit the motherland of all the things that you love! :)
It was an unforgettable trip for sure!
I wanna go to Japan one day. When I have the money and time. Its technically impossible because my family is going through so much right now. Someday though I'll visit the pokemon shops and centers in Japan. It's also been my dream since I was very young. This video must have taken a lot of hard work I love it. Great job! TBH im kinda jealous haha. I want to visit shrines too in Japan. It's def an amazing place.
they should've played the pokemon center music at each location that's so sick
I recently went to japan and am just jealous at seeing all the other stores i couldnt stop at. Did visit a few in tokyo and kyoto.
To anyone thinking about a trip to japan, yes do it! But also plan where you want to be and how you wanna spend your time. Cause main city tokyo is cool, but the other regions have sooo much charm and vibes to them.
Great vid and looks like yall had an amazing time
started watching your videos when i was 5 with my older brother, now im 16 still watching you! im so happy that you still have this passion and that you are still happy, im always gonna watch the playthroughs! all love
Loved this video so much!!! 😍 would have loved to meet you two! 💖
since moving to Japan last year I’ve only been able to visit the Pokémon Centers around Tokyo but as a Pokémon fan it’s my dream to one day visit them all like you did!
some things I want to point out is that most of the items you saw were collections just released at the time you visited or previous ones already sold out at other stores, not exclusives (like the wakka de ikka, I basically have the whole collection cause I was obsessed last year haha), the exclusive items sell out pretty fast, sad you couldn’t find the ones at Tokyo DX, I usually always see the exclusive Pikachu plushies there.
and there actually is a coin machine in the Pokémon Center in Shibuya, you just missed it 🥲 funny how I used to buy a LOT of stuff every time I went to a Pokémon Center last year when I still had my money but never got any of those coins lol and never made a shirt…
also sad that Mewtwo was apparently turned off when you visited, cause it’s so cool that it moves and talks!!
it breaks my heart that unfortunately I have to leave Japan for now and I only have a few weeks left before I move but I hope I can at least go see the new Tokyo Bay since I haven’t been there yet after the renewal…
hopefully I will be able to solve my situation and come back next year, maybe even as a tourist for the first time so I can finally visit more of Japan! and of course the Pokémon Centers while I’m in those towns 😆
thank you so much for sharing this experience with us, can’t wait to watch the rest of the journey on the other channel! maybe we’ll be able to meet in Japan one day 👍🏻
I'm so happy for you!! We also took our dream trip to Japan this year and got to see 6 Pokemon Centers on our 9 day trip. Can't wait to watch this all and see what we experienced in common. Seeing pics from your trip made me more determined to make mine a reality and I can say we accomplished it!!
44:43 is that a toys-r-us sign?? Hello nostalgia 🥹
Wow I hadn't even noticed! Guess it's still alive in Okinawa 🥲
Yup, it didn’t close in Okinawa. I recently went there and it’s fun
Very excited - I am going to Japan in October and this is EXACTLY the video I've needed to see!
39:57 MOTHER 3 SPOTTED.
日本人ですら全部のポケモンセンターを周るのはあんまり居ないのにMunchingOrangeさん達は本当に凄いし羨ましい!✨
I’m glad you accomplished your dream dude. You earned my respect
“WE ARE THE POKEMON FORCE!” 13:25
4:25 OMG that Fidough hat! 😆
It’s called Pokémon fit because it can fit in your pocket
Damn, this video was dope. As someone who used to watch you back when you did your Black & White playthrough/walkthrough/Let's play this feel crazy.
The way I started watching you at like 9-10 and I’m 21 now 😭
Really love this video! I appreciated that you took to the time time match up the cities music with the corresponding city in the actual games! So glad you got to enjoy Japan!
That was one of my favorite parts of editing this! Realizing all the real life locations that inspired each Pokémon city
Ironically I've been planning this kind of trip for the better part of 4 years and honestly love what you did
30:50 So fun fact time.
Fun fact: Now you can fly there every time you want.
My First video from you... Wauw I loved everything, every step you guys took everything you guys seen every pokémon store with goodies and coins😍🔥 the nature and building ect ect... the end give me tears I my eyes, what a trip amazing🤗🤩
The shibuya pokemon center is so cool looking
Thank you so much for coming Japan! I’m Japanese but I haven’t been there yet. So it was fun ☺️
This is so wholesome! Im so jealous, as a Nintendo/Pokemon fanboy growing up!
You can tell this guy has very unique taste, his favorite Pokémon is charizard and his favorite legendary is rayquaza
If you paid close attention my favorite was actually Monferno but I'll give you the Rayquaza point 😬
@@MunchingOrange monferno is gas
Thank you for creating this content! I feel like my dream of traveling to Japan and visiting Pokémon Centers has come true.
From watching you when I was young, playing my DS while watching your play through's STILL to this day... best video ever. Love you Orange
ayyy from Puerto RIco too, I visited 3 pokemon centers in my stay in Japan. Can't wait to go back
Visiting in every Pokemon Center in Japan is ever Pokemon fans BIGGEST Dreams it's so AWESOME to see this long video from Japan thank you Orange Pokemon Center: Gotta Catch them All Pokemon! 🗾🏯⛩🌃😍🍊🌱💧🔥⚡
Visited every poke center in Japan and still forgot to heal. 🤣🤣JK loved the vid. Japan has always been on my list to visit
19:47 It is part of the Nihombashi Takashimaya Shopping Center. 🤓
I really respect the dedication. I only went to Tokyo pokemon centre myself, so it's cool seeing your video on all of them!!
Aww thank you! It was a crazy undertaking but it so worth it 😬
Haven’t watched it yet but I’ll drop a like. Munch was an icon of my childhood so you know I have to back the goat 🍊
So many good edits in such a beast of a video, inspiring work bro
watching this reminds me so much of the love i have for pokemon i remember watching your X&Y play through when i was barely 13. This video was great!
14:24 this transition was sick!
this is the COOLEST "every" video i've seen 🔥🔥🔥 i love pokemon i wanna visit pokemon centers in japan again
What a trip of a lifetime, so glad you all got to do it!
Thanks for making this video
This will help me a lot on my journey to Japan
I’m not a super big Pokémon fan but seeing your pure joy has me subscribing to you
Thanks for posting! It was awesome seeing the centers we missed on our trip
Such an awesome video!!! Loved seeing all the different pokemon centers!
Loved this vid! I'll be visiting the Pokemon centers in Osaka and Kyoto this October 😊
My favorite Pokémon of all time has been found and showed off in this video! Togekiss 6:38
We did this in 2016, 10 stores in 1 month! It was so fun & took us to places in Japan we probably wouldn't have visited otherwise. Next time we will do the 16+ stores too, & as many pokelids as possible. 😅
I didn't know about the poke lids until after my trip 😅 For sure next time I'm gonna try to find some
This deserves way more views
This is definitely a dream of every pokemon fans!!
I still don't have any of the consoles, but every time I saw munch play, it was like I was playing through him😊😊 Lots of love❤❤❤
So glad you got to live one of your childhood dreams
I would love to visit every Pokémon center too, so this video is a good teaser of what to expect
Brilliant video MO👌🏻 Superb music choice for each part too
It was so fun seeing it through your eyes! Tysm for sharing! A dream that is so relatable 😮!
Dude is living his best life. Good for him.
You are living my childhood dream! I would like to visit at least one Pokemon Centre in my lifetime :)
When you purchase things at the poke centres, does it make the classic DING DING DINGDINGDING jingle? 😂
I wish! Missed opportunity on their part 😅
What a great video Mo! I want to visit Japan some day and this video was super helpful, thanks Mo🫡
I’ve just came back from Japan and visited 5 pokemon centres in Tokyo Kanazawa and Osaka. This video was awesome!!!
