Many artists have sung this song but this guy did the best job on this song and well done sir. I am so pleased to get it after so many years trying to find the song. God's blessings to those who made this happen I love you all.
its 2021 March still this song drives me crazy especially this version, though i stay with my wife but each time i hear this song i turn to miss her badly like she's gone hence she's with me.
Of all the versions done, Dobie beats them all, the arrangements are so well made. Sorry Bachelor boy, yours come second, with those haunting melodies.
Thanks for putting this up. It may be some ago, however I clearly recall the two vinyl Lp's jumping at the commencement of this wonderful track. Still enjoying Dobie in 2021, was fortunate enough to see him in concert. Nobody has come close in the subsequent years.
Love Dobie`s version of this song. It `was` Cliff Richard who sang this first guys (1975) - Dobie sang it in 1978 . Love the way he changed the words . " Dave Townsend wrote the song in 1974 - He recorded it on an album for Island Records, but the label shelved the album and decided to recoup part of the cost of the unreleased album through cover deals. Some demo tapes were handed to Bruce Welch of The Shadows who also worked as producer for Cliff Richard *
Thanks For uploading, appreciated. Any chance you can upload another one without the jump at "I've had many times, I can tell you..". You can keep this one, no one is complaining. There's another upload of this song on RUclips, it also has jumps at exactly this point, but yours is better. Strangely enough I also have a vinyl and the stylus jumps at this point when I play it. Must be something wrong with the vinyl pressing.
Ay....😢...this poor heart of mine. 😢. Dobie Gray gets me deep, deep down in my soul everytime. A legend in his own right. 🎯💯💔
Legend ❤❤
So heart-wrenchingly good 😢😢😢
The almost unknown and certainly, almost unrecognised, Dobie Gray giving but a small glimpse of the melodic and powerful nature of his superb voice

Dobie Gray's version is the definitive version of this great song...end of story.

I never thought there will ever be song that will explain what I went through. This one ...does everything.

It's jumping.........
Any chance of uploading "Thank you for Tonight" , off this LP ???
Very rare song to find been looking for it also
The audio quality on this post is way off. And this might not be the take I'm used to.
Dobie's version is best.
- Still "thumbs up"!
Fraid not mate, Dave Townsend is a mate of Cliff Richards and gave him the track
This is the original, Cliff Richard's is the cover.
How I would like to believe you. My uncle had both the albums, but this one was played more. Now, upload weekend friend.
Muku Mtausi Cliff's "cover" was recorded two years before this !
this isn't the original, Dave Townsend recorded before Gray and Cliff Richard.

Not bad, but Art Garfunkel is by far better
Far better?Are you that stupid?

Sorry...the original from Cliff Richard is tons better. This one is a wreckage!
