thanks, I will upload this one
Luis, you are a genuine scholar-artist. I admire your heartfelt quest for authenticity in materials and process through the manuscripts, the Art Technological Research, visual observations on viewing the masterworks in person, and experiments in the studio - this has also been my method in seeking the true knowledge. Keep up the excellent work ~

You’re the real deal. This should be on PBS or something.
Hands down your channel is my favorite on RUclips - from the information to the presentation, it’s all wonderful. I am obsessed with Velazquez and this is a treat. Thank you!
I really appreciate your feedback Plastic Shrubs . Thank you!🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you Luis, your presentations have given me the inspiration to improve my painting technique.
I had no idea las meninas was so large! Radically changes my understanding of that image
I’ve bought, but not taken as yet, four of your Udemy classes. I’d love to see a class on painting like Velazquez. I find these videos so informative. I’m learning about artists, history, and techniques. Thank you so much, where have you been all my life!?
Thank you very much for the interesting lesson and the important information!
another amazing video. thanks
Luis ! Wow, what a great chanel.
Thank you, muchas gracias
So glad I ran into this channel 😊
¡Excelente video!
best art channel.
Hello Gilmar: Thank you for visiting my channel. I appreciate your comment! 🙏🏻
Can you talk about the cochineal pigment used by Velasquez and other painters? Being a lake pigment, how has it not faded since the 1600s? I was thinking maybe the use of pale sun refined linseed oil was a factor. Thanks for the content!
Thanks for another great informational video !
I have noticed places across Spain that ban photos, usually places with an entrance fee eg. Guggenheim in Bilbao.
Excelente!
Gracias Alejandro!! Muchos saludos.🙏🏻
what are you using to mix the powders? Interesting vid, lots of good information. I may have missed it, but no description on what is being used as the fluid? Cold pressed Linseed oil? or another medium? I am talking about the clear liquid you are using with all the chalks. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. much appreciated!
thanks!
Great👍👍 ❤❤❤❤
Hello Luis, can I also mix the calcite with factory-made colors from the tube? Or does it only work with color pigments?
At 12:42 - what is that term you used to describe Velazquez dragging paint across the canvas? Love your videos :)

thank you very much, Luis
Very very informative video Luis! Thank you so much.
Do you have an idea where one can buy lead white or basic lead carbonate in Europe? Kremer doesn't sell it to every one. I used to buy it from Michael Harding. that's no longer possible...
Hello Fernando: Thank you for commenting. The lead white shortage is a real issue for a lot of artists. Have you tried to
Purchase lead white from natural pigments in California. I don’t know if there are any shipping restrictions. This issue was already well know many years ago. Check this article 👉🏻paintingperceptions.com/the-great-lead-white-shortage/. I have shared a lot of my recipes on my channel and on the internet but lately I am reluctant because some of my subscribers have been careless handling the toxic elements of this pigment. This process requires a lot of care, and safety. Not suitable to all personalities. The last thing I want to see is my subscribers making lead white In their kitchen table and getting sick.😱
@@LuisBorreroVisualArtist
I really wish there was a way to work around that. I live for the last intimate detail; to ensure that I have done things correctly. Is there any way you can do a video on basic safe handling for the lesser experienced? That way you can refer back to this video every time you handle toxic material. I believe that would handle any legal obligation as you have a video based on safety. If the participant did not watch the video you provided and said to watch before handling anything toxic it is their own free will. Letting all to see these very detailed recipe videos in the future hopefully. Just a thought.
@@LuisBorreroVisualArtist Lead on a vase with vinagar in few weeks gain his oxidation is that produt, which is made that paint, as saying that is very dangerous by his toxidity, today nobody uses anymore that pigment. I read about the process once by curiosity.
