    In this Video I paint in one sitting the portrait of Pope Innocent the X as it was painted by the great Diego Velazquez.
    Many consider this painting by Velazquez to be the greatest portrait ever painted. And truly its an absolutely amazing and mesmerizing portrait depicting the depths of human nature.
    I talk more about about the lessons learnt by Velazquez and how a painter should conduct themselves than the technical aspects of the painting. For a detailed video on them, a lesson on the various stages of this study, please support me on

    Very nice study after Velazquez, my favorite painter! What kind of white did you use? I find it easier to match some of his brushstrokes with a slightly transparent white (zinc or lead).

    Ehm... I don't want to be annoying but it should be "alLa prima", with two L's, otherwise "ala" (one L) is "wing", which makes no sense. Apart from that, perfect as usual.

      Well, if one says it in Spanish, it will be ' A La Prima'
      Only by joining the 'a' and the ''La' , 'aLa' in Spanish will mean 'ala' , in English, wing.

    • @TessMArt
      @TessMArt 2 года назад

      @@graziacavasino8884 Not French at all. 'a la' are Spanish and 'prima' is Italian.
      This is how is said in Spanish, borrowing only the Italian word, 'prima' from the original Italian.
      So, 'Alla' Italian, 'A la'. Spanish.
      Actually I think that in French would be something like: 'au premier'
      Hope this clears the matter.
