NF has had two number one albums, Perception and The Search. What's interesting is I looked up new albums coming out in April and not even one of the several lists I looked at had his album listed. Many of the other albums listed were artists who have a much smaller following than him. The music industry does not like him and I love that this video shows that he just doesn't care what they think of him. He knows his fans will show up no matter what!
NFrealmusic llc is under virgin music, which is a distributor (not label) for independent artists. virgin music is owned by umg, who also owns capital records. so he is in some way still connected to capital, but he is still technically independent.
Yeah NF has been independant like this since perception album. Perception and search and clouds topped independent charts Perception and search were both streamed over 2 billion times and made top independent most streamed albums
Love it! Capitol is still the parent company to his label and still printed on the CD per his website, but he has complete control over all his content. Positivity from his home life is showing through and I'm so excited to hear this whole album!!
I think NF has done more to elevate God and bring people to Christianity by not being preachy in his songs than if he was. At this point countless people's lives have been saved by his music.
@@thebridesons5516 definitely could go back when he was signed with Xist with Flame but he’s definitely welcomed back into the CHH space anytime. 💪🏽 He’s also welcome to come into studio for an interview as well 🎙️👀
The kid at the end is from when i grow up video That was almost all his fans in the video i was there for a two day shoot over 9 hours both days His last record was clouds mixtape lol it was fun and playful. Clouds was goods
The first single ("Hope") off this new album explains a lot about his new direction and how he is no longer making dark music. That whole song is about him maturing and overcoming those voices in his head that led him to make the darker music. I love seeing him confident and having fun. I just hope he gives us Jesus on this new album.
he’s been dropping his albums independently since perception and perception is what made him really blow up with “let you down”. so i think he’s been doing what he wants to make for awhile now. NF has never seemed like the type of artist who would like being told what to make and he’s made that clear.
The kid at the end is a call back to 'When i grow up' when he's doing a show in his basement and he only has 2 fans. love seeing the funny side of Nate 🔥🔥
I don't think he will ever put himself out in the media just to get noticed or do more stuff on socials like his wife ... He hasn't done that yet and his fan base is loyal so if it ain't broke.... ❤️
I appreciated yall putting a lot of discussion about how this might be going for Nate. You folks have done some decent work for the way the Em compared stuff is there but its still just Nate. I do believe he is going in a better direction too. Pray for NF as an artist bacause he is giving us HOPE
I'm guessing someone has already said this, but I didn't see it in the comments. The white clothes vs black clothes is explained in the song "Hope." I believe it signifies that he is pulled by both dark and light thoughts. He seems to have turned a corner in his personal life and uses his clothing color to show that he now feels like he has control of his dark feelings and is living in the light instead of darkness. He acknowledges that the darkness has made him who he is, but it is now time for him to leave that behind and be his true self.
What you are actually witnessing is simply NFs progress in his mental health. No he actually doesn’t care. That’s why he has remained independent. He has refused millions more to not play the game. He has also succeeded without playing the game. He is REAL. So remember this song is not an adviser shift it’s a progression of the man.
I don't thing this direction is because he is calculating or someone is telling him what to do. I think it is natural course of action with him working his own issues. When you are doing that your life gets lighter, at least that is the goal, so that should come up in his music too. He is finally able to bring out the other sides of himself also. And his whole music is build up to honesty with what he is feeling so if he would change that I think the fans would walk out real fast. He has never shied away from personal and hard topics so I can't see that changing. But what I can see changing is the topics itself since he is moving on with his life. What comes to wanting recognizing, eh. If you want to stick with your own artistic choices in this current world you kind of have to accept it that you will not get recognized by the industry but then why would you want to. With the full crap that is pushed out currently with the mainstream labels and how controlled it is those award shows have kind of lost their meaning. And that goes almost double when it comes to rap music sadly. So to be honored in there would mean selling your soul and losing your own artistic freedom imo. So you wouldn't be awarded from your real work anyway. How meaningful that would be in the end?
I think you have missed who NF is and what his journey was about. He was making music to help himself through his dark times. Since those albums he got married and had a kid and now he seems to have gotten his life on track and the depression beat down. I look forward to his future music because good times or bad he will sing about what is important to him and not what some radio dj or record producer wants. If you can't understand music meant to make you feel and deal with issues then he is likely not the artist for you.
Halfway through NF new album & it’s the first I’m willing to re-listen to. The old stuff is too dark for my happy optimistic personality. I’m eager to hear y’all review on it lol

Oh I still can tell he is a christian. Using you gift to help others is worshiping God. And like I have learnt from helping people the first step is build relation. Build the friendship and memories. What’s ironic is that this song won’t be played on the radio because it directly attacks the industry and their standards. I think he cares, but he’s not going to change what’s working.
Nf decided what his music was going to be and capitol built a team around it. He was the first rapper Capitol signed. It’s my understanding he has always been hands on with the videos, and the beats/instrumentals. Oh. And nobody helps him write.
Those are all fans in his video. I was there and Nate said he's definitely not getting a Grammy after this. He's usually funny like this in his daily life and now he's finally comfortable in his own skin to show that to the world. He has been on his own label since The Search. Just uses umg for publishing. He's did not get a career crafted for him. He went from Christian label in first album then just capital for therapy session and perception. He isn't going to do more pop records. I find it hilarious that he's getting more recognition for a song about him not caring. He isn't going to play the game, did yall miss the entire point of this song. He is going to show you he can win the game he's made not the industry. Just keep watching.... as he said in this song " I used to give anything to ger respect from THE ARTIST I was listening to ( eminem) "
He doesn't want to sell his soul to the music industry and have them transform him into something that he is not money aside I think in his mind is better to be independent and do what you want instead of having somebody transforming into something that you're not
I do think he is still under a label. I’m pretty sure he’s still with Capitol Records. On the physical copy of the cd it still says Capitol so I’m not entirely sure.
NIce reaction. Thanks for your insights. Very interesting. No, they tried to push him more to the Christian side. NF asserted his right to not go Christian with Capital. Now, he has just grown as a person and that is the new direction. It is ironic that this "pop" record disses the industry which underscores the point. He doesn't give a "what!". He used to want the validation from the industry, but now he really doesn't care. You need to watch Hope to get the real picture. I hope he doesn't do a press run. Never. He is the anti-establishment now. And hopefully he will stay away from Hollywood.
To Ryan Righteous point... given that NF doesn't do the whole traditional album rollout, refuses to do interviews even tho you're suggesting it would help sales and notoriety, is it so far of a stretch to believe he genuinely doesn't care about the popularity? Is it so far a stretch to think that NF would sit in the room of execs and be like nah, I'm not about that I'm gonna do my own thing my way? Sidenote: NF has been playful before, just look at When I Grow Up and Clouds. Why do folks think this is some brand new switched his game up NF like absolutely everything in the past was all How Could You Leave Us. The man has done different things on different songs and still been himself on every song since the beginning. Intro 1 isn't the same as Motivated, isn't the same as Grindin, isn't the same as Chasing.
How about doing a reaction/review of some of the music audio or videos of the truly…clearly Christian hip hop group… BEAUTIFUL EULOGY…such as SNARE, SIZE OF SIN, MOSAIC, IF, MESSIAH. They one of a kind.
I think what a lot of Christians (I'm also Christian) focus on the wrong thing. If you make Christian music the only people who are going to listen to it are Christians. Now if you make music for everyone and drop lines on what God means to you that may help other people learn about God.
imma be honest, yall really dont get NF at all. Red hoodie dude is right about him not caring about the fame and money. He loves his fans and hes thankful to be able to have hte success he does have but like he said in a past song, he would do this as a hobby even if he couldnt sell records anymore. He also is def not the type to have his career crafted for him by someone else. Thats genuinely the last thing I would think NF would do
Some christian people are thinking that "Oh God" is taking the Lords name in vain. That's not what taking his name in vain means exactly. And he is using it with the right connotations and heart. But taking it is vain mean false worship, praising God with words and his name but with no heart. It when people worship, or preach God in vain. Which is what the rest of the music industry does when the motion God or something from the Bible. They are the ones taking God name and mixing it with wickedness. So NF knows this and it's and even deeper cut at the music industry. But Yes we still have to be careful and wise about how we use words in general and people's names also. So this is not at all a bad word here. Actually the ones who preach that talking God's name in vain is JUST saying God and Jesus inappropriately is only what it mean are actually taking this verse in vain. And the Bible is Jesus so they are taking him in vain. So even that means most churches have teachings that are taking the Bible in vain. And a lot of "Christians" listen to secular music. We got to be wise with out music.
This is definitely a song with a pop-vibe. I believe he did that on purpose a satirical statement on the industry with what the industry actually presses you to make. However WTF do I know lol .
it was more a lot of other things if you know you know and saying not care is meaning why when probably should be recognized and not and rolling stone wrote a good article after someone bashed us for beating Chance
5:13 not everybody cares lmao. like he said in the song, he doesn't care. if he was all about the fame, he would be at award shows and be in tons of interviews
Capitol Records is still funding him he just not under their umbrella anymore cuz if you think clearly tommee profitt is the sound man for Capitol Records. In the director is under Capitol Records as well
NF does not make Christian rap. He's not a Christian rapper. You guys talk about how he should do more videos? You're right about that. However, in the interviews he has done he's explained how there is no such thing as a Christian rapper. He based the premise of this off the fact of how being a "rap artist" in the industry is a "job" and you cannot label any job you do as "Christian" an example would be trying to label a plumber who constantly speaks the word of God' as a "Christian Plumber" there is no such thing. I always speak about God and faith in my music. But I have never considered myself as "Christian rapper" There is no such thing. The genre of "Christian hip hop" is hyperbole.
Rap these days so one dimensional that whats expected of nf is be like "Eminem" since he's white and from Michigan, NF made his lane and if he don't care bout the money nor the glitz and glamor y is that so hard to believe??? The industry got beyond ridiculous to the point all they know is is how to box others in, most like just get boxed in themselves. Enough with the eminem comparison, especially cuz he acted goofy??? So 😒, SMH
5:44 And you haven't seen what he sees. Same room, different Perspective. His fan base is Solid whether You, I, Like it or Not. If you can't see that the INDUSTRY is Kaos, Puppet Masters, Thieves, then great.
6:55 You obviously don't do your homework. Capitol Allows, Encourages him to Do You. Nate is a Control Freak on another Level of Control. So anything you see or hear from him is HIS DECISIONS. Capitol doesn't Demand or ask him to do Stuff because they know its about HIM & HIS CRAFT. Just like Dave Chapelle when THEY ( The Industry of Comedy) said he should wear a dress. Like so many seell outs before him, He said HELL NO!. Also Remember that Nate IS a Christian. So he comes from that Perspective of life. And ANYONE who doesn't have God on their Minds in DECISIONS & CHOICES Can't, Wont, Refuse to Connect with that Concept. This Generation is used to Mumble Noise over a Fire beat. Besides, If you go to work everyday for 25 yr & Never late or Called out sick and one day you call out. THEY will focus on that one day you called out instead of 25 yrs of DEDICATION. Same everywhere. People can't help but be Negative, Half full, Hate, Condemn. Its the Amerikkkan way.

He’s not going to do the fame thing he hates fame
5:13 not everybody cares lmao. like he said in the song, he doesn't care. if he was all about the fame, he would be at award shows and be in tons of interviews
Capitol Records is still funding him he just not under their umbrella anymore cuz if you think clearly tommee profitt is the sound man for Capitol Records. In the director is under Capitol Records as well
I hope he doesn't do the press run
he indie but capital helps with distribution
NF albums is out
We are off for Easter this week but we will probably cover it on next weeks live show

dummies didn't pay attention to opening of the song lol
We’ll try to do better. We appreciate the positive feedback from NF’s fanbase lol
The genre of "Christian hip hop" is hyperbole.
if this copied anything it was ye not em and been independent but capital records was used for distribution
you need to watch HOPE before this one otherwise it is out of context
Check out our reaction to ‘HOPE’! ruclips.net/video/tjW3hdSwUxk/видео.html
He been ignoring you all
Rap these days so one dimensional that whats expected of nf is be like "Eminem" since he's white and from Michigan, NF made his lane and if he don't care bout the money nor the glitz and glamor y is that so hard to believe??? The industry got beyond ridiculous to the point all they know is is how to box others in, most like just get boxed in themselves. Enough with the eminem comparison, especially cuz he acted goofy??? So 😒, SMH
NF would never do that…. It even says it in the song you JUST reacted to. You serious right now?… He’s been anti industry/interview for a LONG time. 😂
Sound like a little projection there bro, I don’t think nf gives a flying fk 😂
Honest first reactions is projecting? 🤨
We aren’t hating on him, we aren’t condemning him, nor are we aligned with the KKK or any of their racist ideology. 🤦🏾♂️
