    Neural DSP, only founded in 2017 have so quickly developed an identity based on a variety of genuinely good products by genuinely good people. _Neurol_-ogically speaking, they manage to tickle you in just the right parts of your brain. Art. Sleek visuals in plugins, simplistic operations that keep you in your creative lane longer. Sound. Collaborative with great artists known for dialing in incredible tones. Film great tutorials and product reviews, with sexy b-roll, answers your questions and let’s you have all this at a _genuinely_ good price point. I’m excited for the future. Good job.

      Let's not forget....free 14 day trials of all plugins, confident that once that 2 weeks is over, musicians and producers alike will be running to the bank wondering which plugin they're gonna choose bahaha....honestly, Nolly is my DUDE, 4 amps. 4 cabs, decent pre and post pedal section and graphic EQ, amazing cabsim and mic choices, movable in a 3d matrix. Archetype: Nolly seems to be the most versatile that I've worked with, but im not lying when I say the Nameless Suite produces the most downright brutal tones I've ever heard anywhere! The NTS suite ive had longest. The girth and grind knobs separating low and high end distortion character is so perfect, seems that should be on every amp from here on out! The "kill" switch is insanely colorful though, and why Nameless has NTS beat...gain 1 and 2 on rhe Nameless essentially lets you dial in the "kill" switch instead of just flipping it. The variety is insane, even low input tones are brutal as fuck

      Johnny Roberts Something tells me you’ve never recorded in a real studio with a large format analog console and tracked to analog tape. If you’ve only been exposed to the digital world using analog sim plug-ins then your opinion doesn’t hold any weight, because you have no experience to really compare the two. Analog and digital both have their place in music, and I’m sure some, if not, many of your favorite sounding records have been tracked/mixed in a purely analog domain or have been tracked to analog tape and then transferred into Pro Tools to be mixed in hybrid digital/analog setup.

    Qcortex produces a smoother, refined sound, with less pronounced attacks in the upper middle, and significantly less "roughness" and bulge. But wider to the bottom. You can hear it even through the iPad speakers, which is amazing for me. It may be less audible in the Studio, less noticeable when playing an instrument, because physical sensations interfere. Of the undoubted advantages of the Cortex sound in relation to other top-end devices of this class: clean, open top, no boxiness. In general, great user interface is the most important factor when choosing the «all in one” device.

    i know everyone just wants to hear fanboy comments but to me, the high gain sample in this video was a bit squishy and fizzy in the top end. similar to line6 products. perhaps it is just going to be inherent factor in all digital modelers that engineers never quite figure out how to eliminate or cant eliminate and will always have to be dialed out in production with multiband compressors or eq. I think this thing is going to be a great tool none the less and look forward to having one. Besides top end I think modelers are a bit sterile and lack that room air quality in the cab sims are mic sims. it would be cool if someone made a pedal in these things that just added air qualities that are present in real amp, cab and mic recordings that you could drop in the chain. it would maybe give these things a bit more life and less sterile. its like a hot fudge sundae. already good but just that much better with the whipcream. just my 2 cents. Lastly :) Someone needs to get josh middleton to do some profile captures for this thing. his kemper profiles are some of the best out there.

    for capturing do you need microphone like Kemper or with some different way?

    • @illegalgardener
      @illegalgardener 4 года назад +4

      You can do both. But cortex does not have speaker input, so if u want capture head-only, you’ll need a load box. I like this idea best because I can then use the onboard virtual IR sim. I dont have the hardware to mic my amps as good as the IR’s so that will be more useful than capturing my cabinets.

    Question... I have a Mesa Mark V with rectifier cabinet. Can I capture the rig but then add a tube screamer effect in front and delay and reverb after within the quad cortex or do those have to be part of the capture?

    • @AverageGerman

      I've read that you can capture such pedals also independently to use them as blocks in the cortex signal chain, but I can't find it atm so take that with a grain of salt.
      I m for sure will be waiting til this thing is officially released so I can get my hands onto one to try and watch some reviews, but I'm very interested so far the thing sounds pretty good to me :)

    That is really stuning ! Beside the fact it seems really amazing in terme of sound capture, I have a question : The capture will be like a snapshot of the captured amp without any modification (general EQ, gain etc) or will the capture allow to tweak some parmeters ? BTW i am really exited to see more of it !! Good job guys !

    • @randalljax
      @randalljax 4 года назад +2

      I agree Content ,I think its going to be just a Static capture of the amp setting BUT if you can actually add bass cut mids etc and it still retains the sound of the amp that would be different to the Kemper static approach and limitations

    Specs as audio interface:
    Hi I mailed to SWEETWATER and got the following information:
    "Yes, the Quad Cortex can function as a two channel audio interface with a fixed sample rate of 48kHz/24-bit."
    I think this is quit poor for such an costy device!? SO NO REPLACEMENT FOR YOUR AUDIO INTERFACE!!!
    Is there a update for THIS DEVICE with BETTTER VALUES planed in the future??

    I’m a fan og the neural dsp plug-ins, which sound great. however, I’m greatly disappointed that quad cortex lacks scribble strips. This could be a dealbreaker for me.

    Calm down everybody. Yes, this thing sounds like a near perfect copy of a RECORDED amp with mics. For a guitar player that’s used to hear a real tube amp in the room, I don’t think this thing can perform as good with an frfr or monitor speakers. It will still sound like a great microphone recorded tone, but not the real thing beside you.

    Guessing you wont release a VST format to let people download and insert amps into say Cubase? That would be awesome, but assuming just to play recorded amps you'll need the hardware. I'm tired of hardware, I like just plugging into my laptop and have it all there. No additional units or things that require power to run.

    • @kimseniorb
      @kimseniorb 4 года назад

      Same. Would be fine if software ran with hardware acting as a dongle. I’m tired of reamping and cables
